Wellness Funds are for non-profit groups working to improve health in their communities and must address the health priorities identified by the Community Health Boards (CHBs) in their current community health plan. Wellness Funds support a health promotion or population health-based approach to wellness. This model seeks to maintain and improve the health of people and the communities in which they live through partnerships, and by addressing those aspects of a person’s life that determine their health. Eligible organizations include non-profit organizations, municipalities, schools and First Nations communities.
In this episode of Sou'West Community Voices: Kerry Copeland, Executive Director of the Healthy Tomorrow Foundation with Doctors Nova Scotia, joins host Pam Bean to talk about the Make Your Move Campaign happening around the province.
Featuring a special clip from Joel d'Entremont, the Physical Activity Coordinator for the Municipality of the District of Barrington, to share what he has been doing in the community to help folks make their move!
Host Pam Bean and Coordinator Elisabeth Bailey present the Wellness Fund projects that the Shelburne County CHB have chosen for the 2021-2022 year.
