Thank you for checking out this week’s episode of Pirate Living Podcast. Spooky Season is upon us and what better time than now to revisit our conversation with Maria Capolupo who is an End of Life Caregiver. We chatted with Maria about end of life regrets. Death is a topic that in western culture has a tendency to be avoided. But by avoiding the conversation about death and how it’s something everyone will experience, we also forget to live life. So we wanted to revisit this topic as a reminder to embrace that we will die, so we can live our lives to their fullest. Do the thing. Take that vacation. Say yes to something that scares or excites you. Memento mori: Memento vivere
Maria Capolupo is a grief support specialist and end of life caregiver, also known as a death doula. Maria supports people emotionally, physically and practically at the end of their lives. Maria also works with people who are grieving and provides them tools to move forward in life after a death. Maria is also helping shift society's perception of these topics from taboo and frightening to facts of life and facets of love.

On this episode, we are talking with Katherine Spallino, author of the book the Bad Cadet: Growing Up in the Church of Scientology’s Sea Organization. Katherine grew up on a secluded ranch within the cadet org, the Church of Scientology’s Sea Org school for children. At a young age, Katherine began to journal about her day-to-day life, capturing the thoughts and experiences of a child coming of age in a cult. Katherine’s background offers the rare opportunity to tell the story of the hundreds of children who rarely saw their parents and were indoctrinated to become future Sea Org members. Katherine is no longer a Scientologist and lives in Minneapolis with her husband, happily raising three rambunctious boys.Where to learn more about Katherine:Instagram: @thebadcadet

On this episode, we are talking about not just one, but two pirate queens. It’s tricky to talk about Anne Bonny without also mentioning Mary Read, so today, we’re going to learn about two women who went down in pirating history as some of the deadliest pirates.
Mary and Anne were two strong, independent women who made names for themselves by fiercely fighting alongside their male crewmates. They rose up in the world despite the odds being against them at a young age. They lived life on their own terms refusing to fit into the societal norms of their time.

We have been doing this podcast for 2 years now, and it's about time we started taking a look at some of the great pirates who inspired Pirate Living. This is our first episode of taking a deeper look into one of our favorite pirates.
On our first installment of My Favorite Pirate, Kristin teaches us about Edward Teach AKA Blackbeard. While Blackbeard happens to be one of the most well known pirates from history, he wasn't the most successful, nor did he have the longest pirate run or the greatest treasures. In fact, it's quite possible he didn't even kill anyone. So, what makes Blackbeard stand out above the others?
Listen in to find out what we can learn from Blackbeard in creating our own pirate lives.

Today we are talking with Sam Conniff. To our listeners Sam is probably best known as the author of Be More Pirate, which he calls a love letter to change-makers and rule-breakers. But Sam has so much more on his list of accomplishments, from co-founding the youth-led, purpose-driven, multi-multi-award-winning social enterprising marketing agency Livity, to Digify Africa, Live Magazine, somehwereto, Dont Panic, Dubplate Drama, and Uncertainty Experts (which after taking the online quiz I now know I have a low tolerance to uncertainty), Sam has been out in the world creating good trouble and leading many a social rebellions.
We are so excited to finally be chatting with Sam, our OG pirate captain, today on the 100th episode of Pirate Living Podcast, which only seems fitting since Be More Pirate has been our inspiration not only for this podcast and everything it stands for, but for the changes that we have both made to chart our own courses in life.

As we are nearing our 100th episode (can you believe we're already almost to 100?!), this week we're taking a look back at our 50th episode milestone. We've come a long way in these last 50 episodes and had even more amazing guests. Our dear friend and mentor Mark England was the guest host for our 50th episode and interviewed us. We had a lot of fun in this conversation.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks to find out who our special guest for our 100th episode will be.

Welcome to another episode of the Pirate Living Podcast. As we are getting close to our 100th episode, we are going to take time to highlight some of our favorite episodes. We will be sharing some of our most listened to episodes as well as our personal favorites.
Today, we are bringing back episode 43 with Laurel Airica of Word Magic Global. This episode is our second most listened to episode, right behind Mark England. In our interview with Laurel Airica, we dug into the mass hypnosis of the English Language.
We really enjoyed this conversation and learned so much. Plus, Laurel Airica is the sweetest and so lovely to talk to.
Today we are chatting with pirate queen and word wizard Laurel Airica. While Caron and I love playing with words and creating magic, Laurel is able to take re-writing the way we speak to a whole new level. Through Word Play, Laurel is unraveling mass hypnosis and elevating the frequency of consciousness. In Laurel’s eBook, the Book of E, she explores the consonants, and wise old vowels, and gives them a voice. We are thrilled to be speaking with Laurel today and really dig into how the words we use affect our reality.

This week we have a bonus episode from our Pirate Queens Caron and Kristin. It's been a while since our last bonus episode, and today we talked about what's new and alive for us right now.
We took time to talk about the Five Regrets of the Dying. A book that has been mentioned often on our podcast. Part of learning to embrace that death is a part of life is so that we can fully appreciate life and live our pirate life to the fullest. Talking about death gives us permission to live our life fully.
In this episode, we also talked about Kristin's newest book - My Words Are My Wand - which is available on Amazon now. We also talked about the exciting program for teens Caron has started. She also is heading up a nutrition program, so reach out to her for more info.
We are so grateful to all of our listeners and guests for making this podcast a reality. If you have any recommendations for future guests, please let us know.

We’re excited to be talking with Laurel Airica of Word Magic Global again today. Our first interview with her was on Episode 43. If you haven’t listened to our first interview with Laurel yet, we recommend going back and listening to that one first. On today’s episode we are going to dive even deeper into word magic.

In Laurel’s eBook, the Book of E, she explores the consonants, and wise old vowels, and gives them a voice. We are thrilled to be speaking with Laurel today and really dig into how the words we use affect our reality.
