This is a different kind of inspirational podcast, meant to motivate you, and also me. This will be a real-time journey, from now until I reach my two ultimate goals, and beyond. I haven't achieved anything extraordinary yet, but I plan to, and I know you do too! So follow along WITH me on my journey, and together we will take down our Goaliaths!
Adri and I finally went on our honeymoon/anniversary trip to Puerto Rico! It was such a wonderful experience. I can’t wait to travel again!
This week, the focus is on discipline. I have had great runs with discipline in the past ending in accomplishment, and now it’s time to put it into practice again!

Well, things at this HVAC company have taken a very disappointing turn. I’m not going to be making nearly as much money as I thought for a long time. It feels like another setback, but at least this time around, I enjoy the work that I do, work itself isn’t stressful, and Adri and I are able to at least handle the bills. So I can afford to be patient and come up with a new plan.
As for the athletic goal, I developed a low-impact workout routine that feels really good and is keeping me strong! So I can be patient here as well while we figure out financing around medical visits for my ankle.

6 weeks of training down (I missed 4 sessions across the last 3 weeks), 10 to go! The last 3 weeks have been mentally and physically rough. The past 3 days, I considered letting the athletic journey go, but I bounced back and realized I haven’t tried everything yet! There is more I can do to make this journey happen, but I have to double down and make a bit more of a sacrifice. I’m not done yet! I do have this ankle injury as an extra hurdle on top of everything else that comes with training for a 100 mile race, but even with that I still believe it is possible! So I’m going to keep trying! I KNOW I can do it!

This week felt really nice. I just rested from running, enjoyed time with Adri, bonded with my best friend, and continued thinking about the future! The key to financial freedom is simply to keep increasing earnings while decreasing bills, and not simply spending the extra money, but saving it and using it to decrease the bills even faster! An earnings increase should be coming soon so I am excited for that, and we are back on the grind for the Half Marathon! I’m so excited for this training block.

This week is close to how I would love to have every week look in the future. 5 full days of HVAC work, and a full weekend off, though I do want to do better with training sessions. I will have a fresh start with training soon after the Coffee Lover’s 10k which is this weekend! Finally we get to see what all of my hard work is worth!

Wow. What a month. I finally got hired into a career HVAC JOB LET’S GOOOOOOO!!! 6 years of trying and failing in careers, and 2 years of trying to get hired into a proper HVAC company, and I found the PERFECT one! I have a 3 month probationary training period, but I feel like I’m going to crush it. I’m already learning so much and I’m feeling so confident. Life is about to change. It still doesn’t feel quite real, but I think when I have my first official weekend off, it will!

Only 2 training sessions this week, but they were both phenomenal efforts and I feel I still got better this week! It was also a full week of work so the paycheck should be nice! Also, the financial advice from last week was terrible lol, don’t listen to it. Maybe listen to the financial thoughts in this episode instead. Also, I went to the Library, got a card, and checked out a book! It already feels so much better to read on my breaks at work instead of mindless scrolling and superficial conversations.

Honestly this week was close to the perfect, ideal work and training week! 4 double shifts, and my last shift going home early after getting close to overtime. 4 training sessions where I stayed focused and consciously trained. And most importantly, making time for Adri. That is more like it! The only thing that could make it better would be even more time with Adri, and having an HVAC job for work instead of a restaurant. Soon!

First week of training down, 10 to go for the Doral Christmas 5k! The running journey is well underway! Unfortunately the financial journey isn't going that well. There just isn't enough work with my father in law. I'm now in the market for a job at another AC company. I am graduating from school very soon though so my schedule will officially open up! There's always something to look forward to!

I have waited long enough! It's time to stop waiting. I am officially beginning my running training for 100 miles, starting with a 5k race! I have an 11 week training plan mapped out, I race in December. The goal is 21 minutes! After that race, I'll start training for a 10k, half marathon, full marathon, and finally 100 miles! I may do multiple races in each category depending on my performance. But starting this week, I will not stop training until I reach 100 miles!

This week was so nice! It was Adri's birthday week, I loved spending time with her family on Sunday and celebrating without having to go to work after. I can't wait to have every Sunday off forever! I also crushed it on my run this week! Looks like I should start doing 3 miles for each run. I don't think it's time yet for a full training plan, but I can keep increasing the runs when I feel good!

This week had a lot of naps! Honestly it felt kinda good. Nothing like an afternoon nap. It sucks getting up from one, but it can feel nice, especially when you are on the grind and lacking sleep. All in all it felt like a good week! I thought a lot about my ideal life, and laid out some key points for you all in this episode. It is fun talking about it. It makes me want to make it happen even more!

Another week of good work in the books! Simple as that. I'm proud of how I was able to motivate myself to stay productive even when I had time off from HVAC work. Working on my novel is such a nice hobby! I get to create, which is fulfilling, and it keeps me out of the scroll hole and from spending too much time playing video games.

We were able to pay down a nice chunk of debt, and looks like we will keep being able to every month! I also lost 3 pounds so let's see if I can keep that going this week.

I got paid to do HVAC work this week let's goooooooo!!! Things happen when you MAKE THEM HAPPEN! I can't emphasize enough how important it is to take action. Nothing ever happens if you don't take action. You can plan out every step and keep planning and planning and eventually have the PERFECT plan with all of the alternatives and contingencies, but nothing will happen if you don't take the steps. So take them! Stop planning and do it!

So her income should increase, and her dreams and career are moving forward! That is what perseverance, determination, and hard work looks like!

Now my goal is to make it feel better than ever! I think it might actually be possible to completely heal my ankle after like 8 years with how fast this therapy has taken away the pain. So ankle therapy is here to stay.

Another two weeks of hard work down! Sorry for skipping another week, I have no excuse except I got distracted playing video games lol. But I'm super proud of my career efforts! I'm making progress! I have my first certification! Basically what this one means is that I can do HVAC work by myself at a job site, as long as I'm working under the umbrella of someone who has an official state contractor's certification, or working as part of a company. If I didn't have an EPA certification, my boss, or someone who did, would have to be at the job site watching over me.

It's been a while since I posted an episode. I obviously seem to have broken my policy of showing up every day in pursuit of my goals. In this episode, I give an update for what has been happening, and what will happen in the future. Make no mistake, as far as my goals are concerned, I am ABSOLUTELY still showing up every single day, and I will keep showing up until my goals are realized. But as far as this podcast is concerned... well I'll let you have a listen.
Goal snapshot:
- Financial stepping stone, $7k balance in investing account
- Current balance, just over $3,200 (+2,000 since the last episode, and it wasn't a deposit. It was good trades!)

Another day, another step! My athletic goal is seeing progress, my financial goal is still seeing hurdles. My dedication is stronger than ever, and I'm proud for that. Maybe I am a little insane, but I think a small measure of insanity is necessary in the stock market lol. I will keep trying no matter what. As long as I learn from each trade and genuinely try to get better, the results will come. And as long as I continue to show up every single day for my athletic goal, the progress will keep coming!
