A conversation with Dr Judy Wilyman. Judy was a high school science teacher in the 1990’s when she noticed an increasing number of health conditions affecting her students. Having an enquiring scientific mind, she started to wonder why. This led Judy to undertake a PhD at the University of Wollongong answering these questions. Her thesis, completed in 2015 is titled ‘A critical analysis of the Australian Government’s rationale for its vaccination policy.’ In 2020, her thesis was released as a book, VacciNationm Australia’s loss of health freedom.
As Judy states on her website www.vaccinationdecisions.net and I quote, “I have been studying the vaccination topic both formally and informally since 1993 when I vaccinated my first child. Like most people questioning vaccines, I have not come from an anti-vaccination position and the debate is not about pro- or anti-vaccination. It is about the safety, efficacy and necessity for each vaccine on the schedule. Are they all safe? And are they all effective and necessary?

A conversation with Dr Gary Fettke, an Orthopaedic Surgeon practicing in Launceston, Tasmania (www.linkedin.com/in/gary-fettke-49657265 ). Gary has a major interest in the preventative medicine and encourages his patients to lose weight before undergoing surgery.

Although his speciality is surgery, Gary believes it is much better to help people avoid surgery if at all possible, by taking preventative measures, which often involve altering the diet.

In recent years Gary has focused on the role of diet in the development of diabetes, obesity and cancer. He has been speaking out on the combined role of sugar, fructose, refined carbohydrates and polyunsaturated oils linking together to be behind inflammation and modern disease.

He has incurred the wrath of regulatory bodies for his stand on public health, but he and his wife, Belinda, remain active defending the benefits of low carb healthy fat living. Their ongoing work has uncovered the vested interests and ideologies shaping nutritional guidelines at an international level.

In this conversation, we explore the connection between the soil, food and health and how science has been corrupted by vested interests.

This was written before the 2019 fires and the pandemic that has demonstrated the problems of a system that has decimated regional communities to the point where we lack the people with the skill and willingness to the the required work.     In an era of rapid climate change, this vital account of how agriculture can address major issues is an Australian story with global ramifications. Patrice is at the frontline of enormous challenges, from water scarcity and land stewardship to food security and the rural-urban divide. The devastation of drought and the crises created by industrial-scale chemically-dependent primary production are discussed and alternatives proposed – along with bold ideas for new sources of energy.

A May 2105 interview with Graham Harvey on Western Tourist Radio's Local Talent Time segment, about his book Seducing the Vigilante Customer. In his book, Graham, talks about the law of reciprocity, which he explains as the best way to get a smile is to smile at someone, and the best way to get a punch in the mouth is to punch someone in the mouth.

Western Tourist Radio programs tell stories of people and places in Western Australia with interviews with local characters. The radio service is complimented by www.touristradio.com.au which is an Independent Holiday Network, promoting sites of interest to people traveling in Western Australia. The website employs the concept of reciprocity, giving discounts to participating businesses that provide a reciprocal link from their website back to ours. A Community Radio documentary I made in 2018, based on an interview with Charles Massy, Author of "Call of the Reed Warbler, a New Agriculture, a New Earth" and others involved in regenerative agriculture and public health.

In the middle of a global pandemic, when apparently healthy people are succumbing to the disease, and others not, could it be the difference lies in the quality of the food they eat? Food scientists have been warning for years that modern fresh foods have a fraction of the vitamins and minerals they had at the end of WW2. On top of that the processed foods bare little resemblance to what our biome's recognize as food.

To fix a problem you have to address the cause. Could it be that with our reliance in high tech solutions we have missed the root cause of the current dilemma? In an economic system driven by advertising, the commercial media has been asleep at the wheel, not questioning the products produced by their major advertisers? In 5 years time, it could be that we look back at this period of history when the pharmaceutical industry is promising "get the jab so we can get back to normal", and find the claim as laughable as the claims of old tobacco advertising?

WA Agriculture Minister Alannah MacTiernan has read Charles book and embraced regen ag, ad discussed in my conversation with her.

At Western Tourist Radio (WTR) , be believe that capitalism is a basically good system, but has corrupted by the belief that businesses exist simply to make a profit. The way it is supposed to work is that businesses provide a good product or service and as a result makes a profit. A conversation with Tim Winton, recorded in October 2018.   Tim, was featured In the 30th anniversary Issue of the Weekend Australian Magazine . When asked about the most significant development in your life in the last 30 years you said.

“Between 2000 and 2003 as a reluctant activist for WA’s Ningaloo Reef, I came to see that ordinary people, properly informed and organised, could overcome the massive imbalance between the rights of the citizen and the influence of the corporate sector. In learning that, I also saw how comprehensive the power of corporations is. I was reluctant because any sensible person would be reluctant, it’s a huge investment in time, energy and emotion and there was a sense in the community that “”the fix was in””, that civil process was rigged against the ordinary person. That made me afraid for our future as a society. It became a goad. I had to ask myself, “”If not me, who? And if not now, when? I learnt there’s more than one way to be a patriot. That was my life lesson, I suppose. A patriot doesn’t need a flag and a gun to defend the country.”
