Dr. Greg Rose started on the east coast with a pipe dream, a sports chiropractic practice based solely on golf performance and injuries. This seemed like a crazy thing to do in an area without a ton of professional golfers and right out of chiropractic school, but Dr. Greg Rose knew he could do it. Fast forward 20 years, Dr. Greg Rose now works out of the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) in Oceanside, CA treating golfers of all stature, including the 2023 Masters Champion, and lectures around the world. Dr. Rose is an engineer by trade and is credited with creating THE movement screen and breakouts for the golfing athlete. This systematic approach has bled over to baseball, tennis, and many more athletics. In today's episode, we break down the steps necessary to build a system like TPI and what it is like living in the shoes of Dr. Rose. We even get a little personal with some health struggles Greg Rose has been dealing with lately and look ahead to what's next for the Titleist Performance Institute. Enjoy!

Today we tackle a super hot topic in the world of manual therapy, chiropractic, and honestly, every social media platform you look at. Does manual therapy matter? Should we just make all our patients get out and move regardless of their symptoms? Does precision matter in rehab? Should we only be doing things in the treatment room that are purely ‘evidence-based’? Some of these questions are legit questions with our biases of MDT, DNS, etc. But, as you will hear in the episode, let’s not jump ship on our manual techniques. We could not of chosen a better guest to discuss this with than Dr. Richard Ulm. You may know Dr. Ulm from the Athlete Enhancement podcast, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization courses, his Instagram ‘move sessions,’ or his food and wine pics throughout social media. He is also a recurring guest on this podcast! Not only is he a former athlete, but he has also worked with some of the strongest people on earth and some incredible athletes.

As we all know, the orthotic industry is somewhat dirty and custom doesn't always mean custom. We had the opportunity to tour Shawn Eno's lab in Idaho Springs, Colorado, and let me tell you, these things are custom! Shawn Eno has built Brett Winchester's orthotics for the last 15-plus years and is a true artist. The thing that really separates Shawn's orthotics is the communication with the ordering physician. Shawn really wants it to be a collaborative process and expects things like a gait evaluation, static and dynamic posturing of the foot and ankle, and also other MSK issues up the chain. We dove deep into casting, the differences in posting, and when and where orthotics give you the biggest bang for your buck. This is a perfect extension of our conversations with Dr. Tom Michaud and for all of the foot nerds out there! Enjoy!
