For our 50th episode special, we decided to bless all of you with what may very well be the Citizen Kane of the 21st century. Dracula has a flippy little ponytail, Kate Beckinsale wears skinny jeans even though it's supposed to be the mid-1800s, and nobody's accent is consistent or good. It's a miracle of cinema.

On this, our first foray into the world of giallo, we went with a slightly lesser-known choice. It's a gothic giallo where a couple of poorly dubbed sisters are running around their spooky old house being chased by a masked killer who's incredibly dedicated to the #aesthetic of the whole thing. Taylor and Jemi unpack the movie's choice to include bats on a string, the confusing amount of sisters, and the fact that most of the women in this movie are functionally interchangeable.

Taylor and Jemi dive deep into Rob Zombie's feature film debut, a movie which dares to ask the question "What if there was a family that was, just... really fucked up?" This episode is presented with apologies to Sheri Moon Zombie for repeatedly objectifying her, but in our defense, that's just the power that Baby Firefly has over gay women.

Taylor and Jemi are joined by their second sibling guest, Jemi's brother Jace, who brings to the table his favorite horror movie of all time. It's the movie we shamelessly ripped our podcast's tagline from, and it's arguably the very first slasher film, so of course we spent a good chunk of the runtime discussing unrelated tangents. But what else did you expect from The Final Girl Files? Serious film analysis? Psh. Yeah, right. You're here to hear us talk about Gunnar Hansen greening out on set and you know it.

Now, you might be asking yourself, "Why is this horror podcast discussing this definitely-not-a-horror-movie?" To that I insist you watch this particular adaptation of A Christmas Carol again, because holy shit is this thing as close to a horror movie as any adaptation of the Dickens novel has gotten. Seriously, just look at the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come or that weird shit Jacob Marley does with his jaw and try to argue that this isn't a horror movie. You can't. Also we just really wanted to talk about it, and to quote a pair of very funny drag queens, this is our show and not yours. We hope you enjoy it nonetheless.
We also did some actual film analysis this time around, imagine that! We did end up discussing BDSM at one point, though. Also Taylor went on a diatribe about how she thinks the Ghost of Christmas Present is a snack. So you still get your regularly scheduled chaos. Don't fret, dear listener.

After a solid week of God trying to stop them from releasing this episode, Taylor and Jemi finally kick off Hot Witch November and talk about 2015’s THE WITCH. It's the most wonderful time of the year! Of course, we're talking about Halloween, and what better way to celebrate this most joyous of holidays than with what is most definitely our horniest episode yet? Seriously, neither of us know why this movie specifically brought out both of our inner monsterfucker. Our running theory is that it's the power of Halloween. It’s a short episode this week (pre-Halloween, you know how it is with horror fans) as Taylor and Jemi dive into last year’s incredibly underrated UNHINGED. Is Russell Crowe just playing himself from a decade ago? What is the proper term for car choreography? How exactly does one #GetChiltoned? Should Russell Crowe have played Mark Hoffman in the SAW movies? And what does Juicy Pat have to do with all of this?

Taylor’s sister Autumn is on this week to give the ladies a crash course in trashy Netflix horror as they discuss 2017’s CLINICAL, a movie so bonkers it occasionally renders all three hosts speechless. Is it okay to make fun of someone’s acting if they’ve done vehicular manslaughter? Should every therapist in this movie have their license taken away? Did the film’s antagonist plot to ruin a woman’s life just because he was in a silly goofy mood? How much of this movie even actually happened?

Taylor and Jemi spend an hour ragging on Disney’s THE HAUNTED MANSION, a movie which fills them both with the kind of rage only two Disney Adults™ are capable of. Is Jim Evers the world’s worst husband and father? Why does the mansion look like a 90s point and click game? Where in the ride would our hosts put an animatronic Eddie Murphy? Does the plot of this movie actually kind of make sense? These questions and more will be explored on this week’s episode of THE FINAL GIRL FILES.

Taylor and Jemi discuss THE INNOCENTS, a movie about a heroic governess trying desperately to save her charges from malevolent ghosts… or maybe about an insane governess who traumatizes her charges because she mistakenly believes them to be possessed. Either way, there’s a lot to dig into!
Discussion topics include forty year old virgins, an incredibly yucky kiss, the inexplicable presence of a tortoise, and sexy ghosts corrupting the youth. For added fun, take a shot every time one of our hosts says the word ‘ambiguous’.

Taylor and Jemi talk about one of Taylor's very favorite movies, a film where you know stuff's about to get weird when the bi lighting shows up, and that's only the beginning. Discussion topics include anti-dad propaganda, Stephen King Dialogue™, Adrienne Barbeau’s milf status, and the incredibly nasté special effects (we say ‘nasty’ a lot). Also, Taylor goes on a mildly unhinged rant about how more leading men in movies should be hairy, so enjoy that one.
