In our final segment today, we will hear the conclusion of Paul’s letter to the Romans. He encourages us to put the feelings and needs of others before our own, pursuing things that lead to peace and mutual encouragement, helping to bear each other’s burdens. Today we continue listening to Paul’s letter to the Romans. Our segment begins with a triumphant declaration of peace with God through faith in Jesus Christ. And while we may suffer, we do so with confident hope that we are loved by God. Romans 5:1-13:14

Yesterday we left Paul in Caesarea following his arrest in Jerusalem and the subsequent death threat. The aftermath of that dramatic turn of events in our segment today is action packed! We pick up today where we left off yesterday in Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians. Our segment confronts us with the sobering reality that one day we will stand before God to give an accountnot for our sin, since Jesus has taken the judgment for us on the Cross, but we will give an account for the way we live our Christian lives. Therefore we are challenged to be holyto be like Jesusin all we do, separating from the godless world around us. 2 Cor 5:1 13:14, Acts 19:1 20:38

Today we will continue listening to Paul’s letter to the Corinthians. It’s exciting to think that we are hearing this letter the same way the Corinthians did in the first century. It is being read to us as it was read to them. 1 Corinthians 10-16, 2 Corinthians 1:1 4:18

Our last segment concluded with Paul’s encouraging letter to the Thessalonians. Today we rejoin him in Athens. He was supposed to be resting from his journey but he became so distressed by all the idols in the city that he began walking the streets, speaking to anyone and everyone who would listen to the Good News. Let's long to have that same heart that doesn’t rest until we have done all we can to bring people to Jesus. Acts 17:16 18:28, 1 Corinthians 1-9

Today we find Paul on his second missionary journey. He gets off to a bumpy start when he and Barnabas disagree over whether or not John Mark should be invited to go with them. The disagreement was so strong that they separatedBarnabas taking John Mark, and Paul taking Silas which shows that sometimes division leads to multiplication as now there were two teams of missionaries instead of one. It’s amazing that the God who so loved the entire world that He sent Jesus to earth to be our Savior and Lord, is also a God who loves us one by one. As we begin listening today, don’t miss God’s love for individuals that is so strong, He took Phillip out of a great revival in Samaria where hundreds of people were placing their faith in Jesus. He then took Phillip to a desert road in order to have him share the Good News with one Ethiopian eunuch who was searching for the Truth. Acts 8:26 15:35

We are going to begin our time in Acts which is Luke’s account of what happened after the resurrection of Jesus. Luke is the author of the gospel that bears his name but now he continues the story of Jesus in the book of Acts which he wrote for his friend, Theophilus. And for you and me.
