Is Europe the bastion of gender equality it's hyped up to be? Or are laws protecting women fundamentally "flawed"? Follow us as co-hosts Louise Osborne and Jennifer Collins report on the laws in place and meet the people trying to improve women's rights.
Following on from our first episode, looking at rape legislation in the EU and UK, we asked a panel of experts to tell us more about consent - what does it really mean? How do we know if we have it? And is it just relevant to sexual encounters?

- Emma Pankhurst, one of the founders the the Sex Worker Action Group and a member of a new sex worker union in Berlin.
- Nicole Bogott, who is one of the founders of Conversations on Consent, a campaign seeking a legal definition of consent.
- Jonathan Herring, a professor of law at Oxford University, specialising in consent in criminal law in the UK.

In the Netherlands, as in most EU countries, sex without consent is not considered rape — there must be proof of violence or coercion. But that could be changing. The country is set to follow in the footsteps of states like Germany, where the law includes a consent-based definition of rape. We take a closer look at the proposed changes, the difference they have made in Germany and what they could mean for survivors.

In the new podcast series Flawed, journalists Louise Osborne and Jennifer Collins will take a deep dive into the laws across the European Union and the United Kingdom that are designed to prevent violence against women.
