You’re not getting along with a committee member or your thesis supervisor, is a poor leader, a poor communicator, a bully or simply missing in action? Do you feel a lack of support from your PhD supervisor or committee member? Are they just not the best fit for you style of learning and you’re not sure what to do?
In this week’s episode we discuss the difficult task of switching supervisors and switching committee members. Xingtan and I share our individual stories and we walk you through the steps we took to make the switch. The key takeaway from this week’s episode is that although switching PhD supervisors or committee member is not a taboo topic and happens more often than you may think. You do not have to accept unacceptable behaviour, this is your journey and you have to do what is best for you to ensure you complete your journey.
