In today's episode Joy and I discuss foundational structures for balanced parenting, particularly for the new, possibly harried, Mama.  We discuss self care as in the down and dirty structure we need, as moms to keep ourselves out of meltdown mode. We discuss the "R" word RAGE and Hormonal fluxuations. We diuscuss Daddy's role in a balanced household. We discuss control, boundaries. Dang we discuss it all....We also talk about early childhood developmental brain health and the DETRIMENTAL role, screen time plays in a child's development of Imagination.
Our discussion took place at 7 am, and you can tell my "brain and mouth" get a little jumbled, so bare with me!
For those of us who are grandmothers or older women, pass this discussion on to your daughters and granddaughters., It is a vital chat for mamas.

Today’s conversation, with my guest Megan Allen focuses on energy medicine, our etheric bodies, chakras, and personal transformation based upon the natural elements. She also takes us on a powerful chakra meditation about 2/3rds of the way through the show.

Megan is an Integrative Wellness Practitioner, a medical reiki master and certified massage therapist, based in California. Her work focuses on a holistic approach to health, helping clients re-align the body’s natural energies, with that of the cycles of nature, the five elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine and our seven chakras of the Indian Yogic traditions.

Her mission is to inspire her client’s personal growth and healing. She calls it an Inside job, in which she tailors her sessions to meet the emotional, mental, and physical needs of everyone she works with. She also facilitates a course called Wild Woman Activation.

She incorporates tools from varied traditions including traditional Chinese medicine, tarot, crystal work, essential oils, animal medicine and a deep connection to the natural realm.

I have personally experienced an energy healing session with this fine master, and all I can say is Megan is the Real deal. She loves and honors her clients and her work. She is available for online sessions. Her website is: mindbodysoulwellness.com.

This fascinating interview withMara Adelman,  Professor Emeritus of Communications  from Seattle University. Her subject: Solitude. She claims that we are increasingly living lives of mass distraction. It is imperative that we take control over the pressing demands of everyday life, and to garner time for self reflection, in order to engage in our deeper creative and spiritual lives. Not doing so affects our memory and brain functionality and our thinking capacity. Not to mention: Our Very Privacy.
