If Andor Season 2 Episode 8 had an alternate title, it would be: The Tragedy of Syril Karn.
I think it’s in Syrils many flaws that we can gain the most insights. It certainly seems that he’s come to this realization, albeit too late.
What exactly can we learn from Syril’s example? That’s exactly what we talk about in this episode.

Thematically m, this may be the most important episode of Andor yet. Or at least our most important discussion.
Cassian is carrying the weight of everything that he’s lived through and everything that he’s done. And we see in this episode that it’s starting to take its toll on him. No matter how much he denies it and ignores the signs, he need help.
To me this episode is about healing and how healing often requires seeking the help we need. Cassian can’t do it alone. You can’t either. So, please, seek help.

Know you’re WHY.
Taught and talked about so much in the business and personal development world that it’s become cliché.
But there is truth in cliché.
And this episode of Andor (Andor Season 2 Episode 6: What a Festive Evening) illustrates how important the principle of “WHY” actually is.
It’s our sense of purpose. It’s what drives us. Without it, our pursuit become empty and meaningless.
This episode of Andor teaches us to always stay connected to our WHY or risk sacrificing everything you were fighting for in the first place.

The question for this episode of Andor is: “What are you angling at?”
Of course everyone has an agenda. But whether or not they achieve their desired outcome depends entire on the quality of their interactions.
In this week’s episode, we discuss owning your greatness, the importance of humility, and how to get more done without sacrificing kindness and understanding.
Who knew we could learn so much from Star Wars?

Like Cassian we all want to help and take care of the one we love especially when they’re struggling. But as well meaning as our intentions might be, sometimes we can end up doing more damage.
In this episodes, we answer Cassian’s question: “What am I doing wrong?”

Betrayal! To live In the cloak and dagger world that is the show Andor, betrayal is an occupational hazard.
But outside of scheming and plotting and back room deals, does betrayal actually happen in real life? If so, how?
It’s a matter of TRUST.
Betrayal can’t happen without trust. So the question is, does trust automatically open you up to the risk of being betrayed.
We get into all of this and more in this weeks episode.

What kind of friend are you?
Before this episode of Andor, we believed that Tay and Mon were the oldest of friends. Unfortunately, what that meant differed for both of them.
We see in this episode that Tay is more than willing to throw away the connection he has with Mon — all for his bruised ego and own bad decisions.
Again, what kind of friend are you? Are you a “Tay”? Or are you a “‘Mon”?

Here we go! The Season 2 Premier of Andor!
And what better way to kick off this long awaited series than by answering a listener submitted question in conjunction?
This is really what Path of the Jedi is all about — finding insights to our life experiences from Star Wars.
Andor in particular is so full of humanity, so full of character development, that it’s almost impossible not to learn from its themes and story arcs. This shows success is in large part due to how relatable ALL the character experiences are to what we go through as humans here on earth.
Niya in particular is going through a massive change in her life. And what she’s experiencing can serve as a reflection of what we all at one point or another go through.
That’s why it made so much sense to me to connect Leo’s question to the themes in this episode of Andor.
Give a listen and you’ll understand.

It’s no secret. There exists a toxicity within the Star Wars fandom (and really, all fandom) that sometimes makes it difficult to participate in that fandom.
It’s great when we can have a shared love and experience in Star Wars, that it can bring us together in excitement and appreciation for the vast mythology within.
But when hate and ugliness invade those spaces, it’s tough to want to even be involved.
So, this episode discusses the roots of that toxicity and in giving a clearer understanding, a hope that we catch ourselves before we engage with and in that toxicity.

We’ve arrived at the final episode of Ahsoka and what a doozy!
This episode shows us the stark contrast between Ahsoka and Thrawn and their approach to conflict.
While Thrawn’s approach relies completely on strategy and tactic, Ahsoka has begun to lean more into “going with the flow.” She’s learned to let go of the need for control and is allowing herself to once again “trust in the Force.”
Letting go. Leaning in. Surrender and trust. These are all things we can do more of. Combine that with Thrawn’s strategic mind, and you have a winning combination for achieving any goal and facing any challenge.

How does Star Wars inspire you to DREAM?
There are many ways. But beyond dreaming of far off galaxies and grand space adventures, Star Wars can inspire us to dream again HERE on earth, to dream of better tomorrows for ourselves and for the world.
Parts Six and Seven of Ahsoka hold myriad lessons. But the message that stood out to me the most was to stay inspired and always keep dreaming.
What about you?

We’re off to an actual distant galaxy! Our heroes are stepping into uncharted territory in this episode in more ways than one.
How do you handle having to face circumstances and situations you’ve never faced before? How do you handle facing the unknown and uncertain?
We can certainly learn from our heroes in this episode. And that’s what we discuss today.

The past can haunt us. Decisions that maybe didn’t turn out the way you thought they would compounding into monumental self doubt and eventually leaving us paralyzed when facing the crossroads of uncertainty.
Yea, me too.
Things haven’t been easy. There’s been a lot of uncertainty in the world and moreover in my personal life.
And so I’m really working hard to lean into that uncertainty and trusting that my past experiences have given me wisdoms enough to make sound decisions moving forward.
Crazy to think that I got all of this from Star Wars.
Ahsoka Part Five is a beautiful episode with some very profound lessons. How could there not be? Ahsoka spends half of it in the World Between Worlds finishing her training from her how dead master, Anakin Skywalker.

I need to come clean. There’s no Ahsoka discussion this week. In this episode I explain, pretty openly, why I was unable to continue our conversation about the ongoing adventures of our Ahsoka and our other heroes.
It hasn’t been easy for any of us, I think. And sometimes we have to take a step back and give more attention to our mental health than to the things the world tells us we should be prioritizing.
It’s a tough balance.
On any given day, to live, participate, and function in this day and age, we face countless pressures from all sides.
And it can be a lot to shoulder.
Anyways, give this episode a listen and you’ll understand what I’m talking about.

Our heroes Ahsoka and Sabine have a difficult decisions ahead of them — do they destroy the map and prevent another galactic war? Or do they make sure they still have a way to save Ezra?
This episode is all making tough decisions in the face of massive uncertainty.
It’s impossible to know with certainty how things will turn out and this makes important decisions very difficult.
We can hem and haw trying to guess OR we can trust our experience as well as use what’s directly in front of us.
Ahsoka, Sabine, and Huyang provide us some very important lessons in this weeks discussion

“Anger and frustration are quick to give power. But they also unbalance you.” - Ahsoka
This quote from Part Three of Ahsoka is the focal point of our discussion for today’s episode.
The lesson:
You can generate energy (and therefore motivation and effort) with any emotional state, especially heightened ones.
However, the emotional state you draw from will impact your effort and therefore your results.
This is an important message in the ever growing volatility in today's world. Listen well. It is a message the world needs.

There’s something boiling and brewing in Ahsoka Part 2 and it’s more than just the devious plans hatched by Baylan and Morgan.
There’s an unresolved history between Ahsoka and Sabine that’s stilling bubbling just beneath the surface and they need to address it soon.
And that’s the topic for today’s discussion.
The best way to prevent the kind of tension happening between Ahsoka and Sabine is through plain and clear communication, communication that seeks understanding in both directions for both parties involved.
Give a listen and understand what I mean☺️

The circumstances and environments we grow up in have a huge impact on and influence on the people we become.
Knowing this is to realize the importance of addressing unresolved traumas from our past not only so that we can heal our present but also set right the future.
There are few if any characters in the Star Wars universe that didn’t experience a major trauma. Exploring these characters and watching how they navigate their worlds given their past traumas, perhaps we can learn a little about ourselves.
Star Wars is after all a beautiful reflection of the human experience. At least, I believe it is. And hopefully, after listening to this show for some time, you will too.
May the Force be with you.

After a nearly two year hiatus, Path of the Jedi is BACK!!!

The children ARE our future. And if nothing else, Omega should be a reminder that we can and should always do better.
The uncertainty and instability (and sheer danger) of the Bad Batch’s circumstances and lifestyle are starting to take their toll on Omega’s well being.
The volatility of their lives will most certainly imprint in her unconscious mind as patterns that will play out in her adult life… if the clones aren’t more mindful of their influence on her.
This is the importance of the work we do in personal development. Each of the clones have their own set of baggage. Those patterns come out and express themselves especially admit the most volatile situations they face.
And through all of it, Omega in internalizing everything she is going through AND everything she is observing of them.
This is how it works here too.
Children will internalize everything they experience as well as even the littlest nuance in adults’ behavior. Sometimes we cannot control the external circumstances but we can certainly work to control our behaviors.
I know, it’s not easy and it’s not that km asking for perfect. But as long as we adults are willing to put in the work, we can help the children grow into adults with less baggage than us.

In this episode we discuss Season 2 Episode 2 of the Bad Batch - Ruins of War.
We find Omega really having taken to heart that she is the cause of why the crew is in the situation they’re in. As a result, she takes it upon herself, at great risk, to acquire enough loot to change their situation.
Themes we talk about in this week’s episode:
Be careful what you say especially around children. We all could stand to be more mindful with the words we put out into the world. What more around impressionable children who are developing their outlook of life and the world.
Letting go of attachments to attainment, whether material or achievements or outcomes. Omega needed to learn to stop chasing an ideal thinking that ideal is what’s going to bring happiness. Rather, happiness can be found in appreciating the here and now.
That’s what I’m really learning to do.
As I go through what has proven to be a major transition in my life, the challenges and uncertainties abound. And so the the natural reaction is to keep my eye on the prize and chase the dream.
But then what? What happens when that dream is attained?
Setting goals and having dreams is certainly important but we cannot lose touch of what we have right now in this moment. Because really the moment is all there is.

Thanks for being patient with me. I know this episode is coming super late but I promise it has some very practical and important advice on TAKING A BREAK.
In a fast paced world, we can lose ourselves in getting ahead, working and grinding, heck even in just keeping up.
That’s why it’s always important to pause and referrer yourself, on the micro scale and on the macro scale.
During your day’s work, take a short break every hour to do some deep breathing, stretches, rehydrate. On the longer time frame like after competing a big project or hitting a midterm target, make sure to not just go straight into the next thing without pausing to enjoy what you’d just accomplished.

Among Palpatine’s many talents, manipulation is unequivocally his greatest power.
He manipulated his way to becoming the politically powerful beings in the Galaxy. He was so successful at this in fact that even after his defeat, groups of people still continued his work.
Why? What made him so adept at manipulation?
Because he knew how to take advantage of one of the strongest and most basic needs people have: the need for CERTAINTY
Palpatine not only planted the idea that there was massive uncertainty in the galaxy but also created actual uncertainty in the form of the war.
When faced with high levels of uncertainty, people more susceptible to manipulation because of the desire to bring more stability back to their lives.
The thing is, finding external certainty isn’t actually possible because it doesn’t exist. If there’s one thing we know, it’s that the world is ever changing. Sometimes that change is slight and imperceptible. Sometimes it’s drastic as we all experienced during the global pandemic. Whatever its form, change constant nonetheless.
That’s why you’ll never find certainty from external sources… no matter what anyone promises you.
We have to continually work to develop internal certainty to make sure would-be manipulators and sham-artists don’t get one over on us. The pattern has repeated itself time and again 8’ Star Wars and in real life throughout human history (even very recent world events)

There is a reason they Finn is one of the most beloved characters from the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. And for good reason. His innocence and naïveté on full display as he tried to navigate a life outside the First order, immediately endeared him to audience worldwide.
In this episode we discuss Finn’s compassion and selflessness as being his main driving qualities. On the surface, Finn may have seemed to primarily concerned with self-preservation. But when we take a closer look, it is his compassion and empathy that pushes him to leave the Order.
Those qualities further influence all his decisions throughout the entire trilogy even if it meant certain death.

Kino Loy is most definitely a major stand out character for me from the show Andor. With such little screen time, Kino left an indelible mark on audiences across the board.
For me, it’s Kino’s character arc that really hits home. In his example, there is no better illustration of the most basic human instinct to resist change. In his character arc, we see exactly the process that all of us experience (in varying degrees) when change and uncertainty is thrust upon us.

Think of a time when you felt not listened to. How did it make you feel?

I’ve seen the light.
Or at least A light. This show Andor has definitely turned on some new lightbulbs for me making it one of the most fun pieces of Star Wars to analyze yet.
In this week’s episode, I share with you one of the latest lightbulbs that’s turned on for me. My perspective on Star Wars and on fiction in general has expanded as a result of examining and discussing Andor.
And let me tell you, Ep 6 THE EYE was a doozy.

Information is king. He who holds it rules the land.
So, what information are you telling yourself you need? What things are you fighting to need to know?
And when you have the answers ask yourself, does it really matter if I know it?

That’s what it’s all about.
Manipulation abounds in this episode of Andor and in today’s show we discuss exactly why that happens. N

Reckoning indeed. So much meaning in this title in the context of all that happens in the episode.
In todays show, we discuss that very reckoning and how your actions can come back to haunt you. There are so many examples in this episode of Andor of this happen that we would be fools not to heed the lesson.

This was a fun episode! I’m so excited to share my discoveries with you, all that I’ve learned after just two episodes of Andor.
In todays show we discuss LIES and the world(s) Cassian has had to navigate throughout his life.
On the surface it’s easy to look at Star Wars from a black and white perspective — good vs evil, light vs dark. But as we have discussed throughout the life of this show, there is so much more depth to the universe if we’re willing to take a closer look.
With just this first episode of Andor, I believe we’re going to see even more than any other Star Wars movie or show the very complexity and nuance of the mythology — that there is so much more to the conversation than black and white.
In terms of relationships, Rey and Kylo Ren put the “fun” in dysfunctional. In fact, if you take an honest stock of their interactions over the course of the three movies in the Sequel Trilogy, it’s no stretch to conclude that the relationship is downright toxic.
The thing is, how they behave towards one another, towards anyone for that matter, are conditioned responses resulting from past traumas. And looking into both their pasts, we can see that there’s certainly no shortage of trauma for either.
Hurting people hurt people. That’s what’s happening here. “REYLO” can serve as an wake up call for all of us to check in with ourselves regularly so that we can prevent lashing out in conditioned trauma-based responses.
It’s always so fun dissecting Rogue One. On this go around, it was Cassian’s journey that was really speaking to me.
And good thing coz it ends up being perfect timing leading to the premier of Andor in just two weeks!
We’re celebrating our one year anniversary here at Path of the Jedi by staying in the moment☺️
Droids are an integral piece of the Star Wars universe. They serve as much purpose as their organic being counterparts.
And while the question of whether or not droids in Star Wars are sentient beings continues to be heavily debated, we’re taking the conversation in a little bit of a different direction.
This is Path of the Jedi after all and we want ti explore how the droids’ existence in Star Wars is a reflection of our own here on earth.
Give a listen and see wha t you think
The CHOSEN ONE. In Star Wars it’s a conversation that’s ongoing and has as many perspectives as participants. So we thought it finally time we chime in with our take on the prophecy and who we think the chosen one is.
Give a listen and see what you think.
In this episode we discuss the overarching theme of all six episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Part 6 really solidified to me that it was all about getting past the trauma of Order 66 — no matter what that trauma looked like.
For us here on earth, it’s a lesson in letting go of our narratives, the stories we tell ourselves if our past that anchor the hurts, the regrets, the guilt, all the negative emotions we hold on to that act like the heavy chains of Jacob Marley.
Letting go of those chains frees us to move forward and live an unburdened life.
Listen and let me know what you think
I love that we finally get Reva’s back story in Kenobi Part 5. And what an emotional back story it is.
So in this week’s Path of the Jedi we continue our conversation of letting go of the past — not the of the events, because we can’t change what happened. Rather letting go of the meanings we carry of the past. We can definitely change how we think of and therefore feel about the past.
And that puts us a step closer to healing.
Give a listen and let me know what you think.
The pain of loss. Grief. It’s where I am at the moment so we’re taking a break this week from our conversations on Kenobi to talk about a subject that we all at some point in our lives face — loss of a loved one.
I share with you all what I’ve been dealing with and how I’ve managed my grief, how I’ve coped with loss and the day to day things that have gotten me through.
My hope is that what I share can help you if you should ever need it.
May the Force be with you.
Letting go of the past is something we all have struggle with. In Kenobi Part 4, this has never been more clear for our hero Obi-Wan. Faced with the the real and danger of imminent harm to Princess Leia, Obi- Wan must face his past or risk not being able to rescue her.
So what how can we move on? How can we let go? Is it really possible to face past traumas and move forward with renewed sense of purpose and ability?
That's exactly what we dig into in this week's show.

The theme that kept jumping out at me in Obi-Wan Kenobi Part 3 was COMMUNICATION. I saw it in practically every interaction of every character throughout this entire episode. So what can Star Wars teach us about communication?
After really examining this episode I found some very pertinent and practical insights for all of us in the this modern age. Take a listen and see what you think.
There’s so much to chew on in this latest episode of Obi Wan Kenobi, it’s hard to limit it to just one show. And for sure we’ll be revisiting this episode, and entire series for that matter, because it’s so rich thematically.
For today, we’re honing in on what makes Leia Leia. At her core, I think the story that’s unfolding in Kenobi Part 2 paints a picture of Leia that we have never seen before.
What makes her so tough?
What makes her so fearless?
What gives her the ability to face adversity with such fortitude and determination?
I think we’ve gotten a glimpse of those answers in Kenobi Part 2 and I predict we we’ll see much more of Leia’s journey in the coming episodes.
We’re back! After a nice hiatus to exotic locales, I’m so happy to be back with a fresh new episode for you all.
I know the show has wrapped, but we’re gonna continue our conversation of Kenobi by picking up where we left off — namely letting go of the narratives from the past that can hold us back.
Give this episode a listen and let’s start a movement together.
Kenobi! Man oh man, there's so much to talk about in just this premier episode of the new Obi Wan Kenobi series, that I'm actually going to have to split it up into multiple shows! In today's show, we dig into the state of Obi Wan's life, especially his mental and emotional health living as a hermit after the trauma he experienced during the execution of Order 66.
I'm so excited for this series and I really feel like we're going to learn so much from the amazing execution of the creative teams in bringing it to life!

Raise your hand if you love Solo: A Star Wars Story! I know I do. This movie gave us a deeper understanding of two of the most beloved character from Star Wars - Chewbacca and Han Solo. In this episode we discover Han's (and all of ours) need for connection. On the surface we may see Han a scoundrel and a drifter. But there's so much more going on there and with this stand alone we get and even deeper and richer understanding of who Han really is... Solo indeed.

The slap incident at the Oscars was all anyone was talking about this past week. However, as with many "controversies", the conversations were rarely productive and hardly constituted actual discourse. For me, seeing Will Smith, a role model of mine who I held in very high regard, lose control and slap Chris Rock on national television... well let's just say it effected me deeper than I would've expected. And so this bonus episode, which not only gave me an opportunity to trail run a LIVE STREAM, is as much an offer of perspective as it is a brain dump for me.
Hope you enjoy :)

Man! Tackling the subject of Attachment in the Star Wars Universe turns out to have been much more ambitious than I anticipated. Now that it's done, recording this episode helped me realize just how complex this topic really is. And maybe that's why it resonates so deeply with people.
At any rate, in this Part 2 episode, I attempt to draw a conclusion on the topic of Attachment in Star Wars, and hope that my message helps you as you move forward along the Path of the Jedi.

In this episode, we dive into the concept of IDENTITY in the Star Wars universe. What is Identity? What makes us us? What makes Anakin change his identity into Darth Vader? Have you set some goals for yourself that just don’t seem to be working out? Is that resolution you made way back in January a long gone memory? Well, this may just be the episode you’re looking for.

Obi- Wan is one of the most reliable characters in all of the Star Wars universe. We can always count on him to provide guidance, insight, and wisdom to any situation we may face. In this episode however, we see that there perhaps is one event that remains a burden for Obi-Wan, so much so that he has to adjust his "truth" around it.
Though we were only originally exposed to him in the movie Star Wars - a Phantom Menace, Qui-Gon Jinn left a lasting imprint with his willingness to share his beliefs and philosophies openly and freely. In this episode we get a glimpse of the depth of Qui-Gon's wisdom with his quote, "Your focus determines your reality."
