People always have opinions about kids as soon as they're out in public. "Why would you travel with them, they won't remember it?" "Being on an airplane with a screaming baby is the worst thing that could ever happen to me." (Taken as actual quotes from Tik Tok comments I've seen multiple times.)

Traveling with kids is a huge hassle. No doubt about that. It feels like you're packing your entire house up, they never sleep the first time there, and they have to go potty at the worst times. But the memories you make at the destination are priceless. A lifetime of memories is worth a few hours of "Are we there yet?"

Listen along for some of my lowest travel woes, and some of my highest triumphs.

Have a funny travel story with your kids? I want to hear it! Tell me over on instagram @SurrenderToTheSuckPodcast

It's not that you're unhappy for this person but it makes you think... what about me? What have I done with my life?

In this episode we're diving right into these really uncomfortable...and well... sucky feeling of comparing timelines. There's a lot of nuance that goes with this conversation so I'm bringing it up to think about too. Yes I'm talking about privilege and trauma.

Let's dive into these feelings that we probably all prefer to avoid.

Over-gifting; one of the most misunderstood boundary pushers on the modern age. One day delivery and pickup have revolutionized the world but it's also made it even easier for over-gifters to weaponize.

Let's have a judge free conversation about why it is problematic and how we can address it respectfully.

Have you ever been the recipient of an over-gifter? Have you been an over gifter yourself?

Five years seems like a long time. Until you're a parent and it's over faster than you got pregnant (Or your partner did). Within the past five years I've gained hindsight on what parenting looks like for my family. This hindsight has given me the knowledge to align the day to day decisions more closely with how I want the years to progress.

Happy listening!
