Like I had said in my previous post, our daughter's first rave was amazing. Alive by Trivecta was one of the songs that we were looking forward to hearing while we were there.
We have all struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts. Our daughter had a rough past few years, so this song is pretty special to us because she never expected to be around to experience anything like this.
I hope that you enjoy the video. It was an amazing night for the three of us. We were just missing our son, but we are hoping that he is able to come to the next rave with us. We are hoping to go to the Das Energi Festival this summer.
I would love to see Excision again. There are so many other amazing artists like Liquid Stranger, Peekaboo, PhaseOne and many others.

Going to have to make more of these
Yesterday, I drove up Little Cottonwood Canyon to the Snowbird Ski Resort. While I was driving up there, I mounted my GoPro to the dash of my car and created a timelapse of the trip. I think it turned out really cool and then I added some of the drone footage that I got while I was up there.
I am going to have to fly my drone up over the ski resort one day. I didn't do it this time because there really wasn't much snow or people up there on the slopes. We are going to be getting some good snow starting tomorrow, so I am sure this whole area is going to look a lot different after it snows.
The music in the video is called Motivating Wooble Dubstep by RedOctopus, and I have a commercial license to use that song in my videos. I hope that you enjoyed the video. I had a lot of fun making it and I am going to be creating more of these types of videos. I really like how the timelapse turned out.

Such a fun video
So here is the video that I created for my daughter and her friends for their dance class. The song is Choke by Royal and the Serpent.
I got pretty sick of this song by the end of editing this, but I think it turned out pretty good considering my daughter's group had one day to create the dance and plan everything and I had no idea what their routine or anything was when I started shooting.
I wonder how cool this could have turned out if we actually took some time to plan the shots and routine out better.

Such a great time
As I said in my previous post about this experience, it was AMAZING! This video includes some of the music from Wooli, Riot Ten and Excision.
Videos of these events are cool and everything, but they do not convey the amount of energy that is going on at an event like this. It was such a great experience and one that I will always remember. I am officially hooked and will be trying to attend many more EDM Music Festivals in the future. There is a pretty big one here in August that I am trying to get tickets for. Hopefully crypto prices will continue to go up so that I can use some of my crypto to fund these trips.

Such a great event
Over the weekend, my wife's choir she is a part of was able to perform at the Juneteenth celebration in Ogden, UT. Juneteenth is a holiday to commemorate the emancipation of slaves here in the US. It just became a federal holiday here in the US and it was pretty cool that my wife's choir was able to perform during this first Juneteenth event here.
Photo by me They sang six songs during the event and I have included two of them in the video. The audio isn't the greatest because I was just recording with my iPhone. I also don't think that the soloist's microphones were tuned very well, but when the whole choir came in and sang together, it sounded really great.
Last night, the choir was part of a new music video that was filmed and I can't wait to see the final product. It was cool for my wife to be able to take part in the music video and see all of the work that goes into creating a professional music video. Hopefully it doesn't take the editor too long to finish putting it all together.

War-Torn
I originally shared this video early into my time here on the blockchain, but it has been a few years now and there have been some updates to the people involved in it.
War-Torn is a feature length documentary that I made back when I was in film school and it was my first long film that I had made. It took me well over 400 hours to complete it, but I would do it all over again because there is so much meaning to this film.
It is a documentary about this man here, Lynn Gillies. He was a helicopter pilot back in the Vietnam War. It talks about his military career and his time during Vietnam and how the war has impacted him and his family's lives.
During the war, he was sent on a mission to rescue a group of US Marines that were pinned down by the enemy. During the flight in, his crew was killed, but Lynn was able to pilot the helicopter into enemy territory and rescue the Marines.
Terry Reid was one of the men rescued on that day and we were able to reunite these two heroes and get their stories of that day. It is such an incredible story of bravery and brotherhood.
One of the main reasons I wanted to make this film was to get Lynn's story out there. Lynn struggles everyday of his life with PTSD and depression because of this incident, but he has overcome so many obstacles and has touched so many lives. Lynn's actions led to those Marines being saved that day and gave them the opportunity to be with their families again and live their lives.
Terry died a few months back and I am grateful that I was able to get this film out before his death so that his family could see the hero that he was. He was a great man and a joy to be around. I will cherish this film as one of my most meaningful pieces I have ever put together.

This video is a project I worked on when I was in photography and film school. It is a short comedy film that we put together. I was the 1st AC, or first assistant cameraman, which means that I was in charge of pulling focus and making sure that the camera was running properly. We shot this video on Red Helium camera and that camera is pretty awesome.
We had a lot of fun shooting this piece. It was early winter and the temperature was near freezing and the "drug dealer" guy was so cold in his little crop top outfit. He made up most of his lines and went off script, but it was so awesome and it was so hard to keep it together as we were filming because he is nothing like the character that he played.
The editing is a bit weird in this cause I think our editor was stoned when he was putting it all together, but that makes it even better.

My wife has been part of the Debra Bonner Unity Gospel Choir for a few months now and she recently had her first performance with the choir. It was pretty awesome to see her up there doing what she loves. She was in choir when she was in high school and has always been singing, but since school, she has never done anything like this before. I am proud of her that she was able to get out of her comfort zone and do what she loves. She sings soprano for the choir and I am hoping that she continues performing. I have been trying to get her to upload videos of herself here on Hive, but she is too nervous to perform in front of people, so hopefully this helps her get out of her shell and do it because she is awesome.

It has been too long since I was in Las Vegas with my family. We are sick of the cold here in Utah and ready to go back down to Sin City for a few days to get some good food, watch some shows, check out the people on Fremont Street and the Vegas Strip and maybe even pay to kick a few people in the nuts.
I made this video during our last trip as a family down to Vegas. It our kids first experience of Fremont Street, and they had a blast. They loved seeing all of the different street performers, concerts and all around craziness that goes on there on Fremont Street. We also took them to see the Criss Angel's Mind Freak show and a few others.
If you have never been to Vegas and are in the US, I recommend trying to get out there and seeing some of the shows. They are really good. The Cirque du Soleil shows are all amazing. Our favorite is the Beatles Love show and we will be going to that one again when we go down.

In a few weeks, it will be three weeks since I lost my best friend Scott. This video is the memorial slide show that I put together for his funeral. He was one of the greatest men that I had the pleasure of meeting.
He was a US Marine that was injured by a roadside bomb while on patrol in Iraq and he lived with those injuries and the memories of the events. We spent many hours together supporting each other during our darkest times and not a day goes by that I don't wish that I could go back and be there for him during the last hours that he was here.
Scott Kelly, you were loved by all that met you and are deeply missed.

Hobo is a short film that I worked on with a small group of film students back in November. It is about two young groundskeepers that mistakenly run over a homeless man while at work and then try and get rid of the body.
I worked as the main video editor and overall sound designer for the group. This short film took us about two months to complete from idea to completion. If you like comedy or anything cool, I am sure you might get a kick out of this.

Deranged Eats will be returning in 2020
Cooking is one of my favorite things, mainly because I like to eat food. I made a few cooking videos a while back, and for this weeks #showcase-sunday, I am sharing one of those videos where I made jalapeno cheese filled chicken wrapped in bacon.
I just ordered a new cookbook that has some pretty cool recipes in it and I am planning on filming some new videos with the new year and uploading them to @threespeak. I am hoping to film my actual introduction to the @threespeak community very soon because I joined 3Speak.Online a couple weeks ago, but this is my first post there.
