Once gay but now born again. Michael Martinez is from Ontario, California. He was raised in the church but walked away from God at the age of 13 to pursue an LGBT identity within the Los Angeles underground rave scene of the early and mid-90s. Exposure to hardcore porn at the age of 5ish gave him an unrealistic view of what intimacy with women looked like and taught him the false narrative that all men were pigs and deserved to be treated as such. He spent 24+ years in the LGBTQ community before radically experiencing Christ in 2018, leading him to be born again. Since then, he has gone out and shared God's testimony of how Jesus Christ saved him from brokenness, and how he has come to accept that his identity is in Christ alone, not his sexuality.

Grief is not something we innately know how to do, so like any other subject, coping needs to be taught and exercised. One of the beautiful things I loved about my conversation with Dami' was that she made me feel comfortable talking about this heart-felt subject. And she was fully ready to answer every question I had for her. Even when it seems the time was short. Thank you so much, Dami Adedeji for bringing so much light and hope into this conversation.--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/faith-culture/messageSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/faith-culture/support
