Is the history of America so dark and disturbed that we need to start over? Where could we go to learn the details of what REALLY happened? Tim Barton, President of WallBuilders, returns to the program to examine the original documents behind some of America’s biggest historical debates–straight from his personal collection of over 100,000 items! From slavery and the Treaty of Tripoli to Native American land claims and the biblical worldview of the Founders, Frank and Tim compare today’s most popular claims with the evidence that often gets left out.
Here’s what you’ll learn:
Every nation is full of sin and America is no different. But what makes America uniquely different and prosperous is the influence of Christianity, which is always worth celebrating. For more information, be sure to check out Frank and Tim’s previous conversation from last week, along with the amazing resources available at WallBuilders.com!

The post Is America on Stolen Land? Debunking More Historical Myths with Tim Barton appeared first on CrossExamined.
What if some of the biggest claims you’ve heard about American history aren’t true? For decades, Americans have been told that Christopher Columbus launched a campaign of genocide, the Founding Fathers were racist deists, and the United States was uniquely evil from the very beginning. While people of every nation have undeniably done evil (that’s why we all need a Savior), are those claims about America based on the historical record or Marxist propaganda?
If you think you already know America’s story, think again! This week, Frank interviews historian and President of WallBuilders, Tim Barton, who holds the nation’s largest private collection of original American historical documents (totaling more than 100,000 pieces!). So Tim’s insights come from what was recorded by the founders themselves.
Tune in as Frank and Tim answer questions like:
You’ve heard the accusations. But in this episode, you’ll get the facts. Be sure to come back next week as Frank and Tim continue exposing some of the BIGGEST historical myths, including the idea that America is on stolen land.

Did Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John really write the Gospels? Or were these books actually anonymous from the beginning? And if they were, what would that mean for Christianity?

When did “just asking questions” become enough to convict someone in the court of public opinion?
This week, Frank takes a closer look at several claims made by Candace Owens surrounding Charlie Kirk’s murder and asks a simple question: What does the evidence actually show? As he responds to listener emails about the alleged discrepancies in his account of the September 10th events and addresses the so-called CPR contradiction, Frank explains why possibilities, coincidences, and speculation should never be confused with proof. This episode will tackle questions like:

You would think that when hearts become open to the gospel, Christians would rejoice and get to work. Instead, progressive “Christians” are warning about conservative politics. This week’s episode is the most difficult we’ve ever recorded. As an eyewitness to the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, Frank will share his firsthand account of those harrowing moments on 9/10/2025 as well as offer a tribute to Charlie’s life and legacy—a person who lived 24/7 for Jesus and courageously proclaimed truth while receiving threats against his life.
Charlie loved his wife Erika and their children deeply, encouraged his closest friends through Scripture, and adamantly worked to let those in the TPUSA family know that they were valued as he modeled great leadership. He was a man of action and integrity, an evangelist and apologist, generous and kind–especially to those who opposed him, and courageous in the face of a hostile culture. Frank will answer questions like:
Listeners will also hear how Charlie’s family and team displayed incredible strength in the wake of tragedy, and how TPUSA will move forward stronger than ever. This is not just a tribute—it’s a call to action for Christians everywhere to carry forward Charlie’s legacy by boldly proclaiming the Gospel, ensuring his mission to reach the next generation for Christ does not end.

Everyone you love will die. Everything you build will crumble. Everything you say will be forgotten. Everything you do will come to nothing. How could a good God allow such evil, pain, and suffering to take place in this world? And why doesn’t He intervene to save good people or young children when disaster strikes? The aftermath and utter devastation caused by Hurricane Helene has many questioning, “Where is God when things go wrong”? What is the best way to address these questions and how can we find God and meaning for life in the midst of these tragic events?
Life has been especially hard for those in the western part of North Carolina since Hurricane Helene struck last week, leaving residents without access to food and water, and claiming the lives of countless victims due to unprecedented flash flooding and fallen debris. During this week’s podcast episode, Frank sits down with Dr. Clay Jones (instructor of the upcoming OCC course ‘Why Does God Allow Evil?‘) and Dan Hodges (CrossExamined Board Director and Hurricane Helene survivor) to discuss the problem of evil and some of the heartbreaking stories emerging in light of the recent storm. Frank, Clay, and Dan will answer questions like:
There will undoubtedly be tough days ahead for Helene survivors as they move forward and try to pick up the pieces. This is a sobering episode, but we trust that it will not only bring hope to those who are in a dark season right now, but also remind us of the good news of the Gospel when we inevitably encounter hardships in our own lives. How do you express concerns about illegal immigration without sounding like a racist? And is it irrational to be Islamophobic? Speaking out against open border policies can get you canceled, but should that fear outweigh the risks of unvetted, undocumented immigrants flooding into the country? Is the real goal of unchecked immigration to weaken Christianity? If so, can Christians and Conservatives do anything in an attempt to sustain the infrastructure of America before it’s too late?
Picking up right where they left off in the last podcast, Frank and Hedieh Mirahmadi continue their discussion about the potential destruction that the West is facing in light of mass immigration and the rise of radical Islam. How could America do a better job of vetting people from Muslim countries? Why is the far left’s alliance with Islam illogical? How has the Biden-Harris Administration emboldened antisemitism? Christian apologists Wintery Knight and Desert Rose return to the program to continue their conversation on ‘How to Love Your Neighbor Through Politics.’ On the last episode, Knight and Rose discussed socialism, abortion, and the past voting record of Kamala Harris. Today, they cover in rapid-fire-succession where the Democratic platform stands on other “important matters of the law” (Mt. 23:23) that will affect the lives of people and the wellbeing of our country.
What is the Equality Act and what will be its negative implications on Christians and religious freedom? Why won’t price controls work? Where does the Harris administration stand when it comes to law enforcement and public safety? Is being compassionate the purpose of government? What does the current data say about immigration, sex trafficking, and open borders? What policies led to a 98.2% increase in the cost of electricity in California? And more.

For this special edition midweek podcast episode, Dr. Owen Anderson returns to expose more of what’s going on at Arizona State University and how it’s specifically singling out Christian and conservative faculty members. Last week, they talked about how Owen became the target of ASU when he was ordered to accept their DEI training and change the course syllabus for his introduction to Christianity course. In this episode, they discuss the infiltration of Marxism (and witchcraft!) that Dr. Anderson has personally witnessed during his time at the largest state college in the United States.
How is the Honors College at ASU promoting witchcraft? How is Christianity the real enemy of people promoting this on campus? Why is cultural Marxism attractive to a lot of Christians and why is philosophy so important these days? Why doesn’t Dr. Anderson just quit his job and teach at a Christian school? What should students do to prepare to go to a secular university? All this and more will be discussed in this BONUS episode of the ‘I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist’ podcast!

Are Christian professors being discriminated against at public universities because of their faith? And when did it become unacceptable for Christians to teach students about the historic Christian worldview from a biblical perspective on a secular campus? Something strange is happening behind the scenes at Arizona State University and a tenured (Christ-following) professor is now choosing to fight back and speak out against the corruption taking place!
This week, Dr. Owen Anderson, professor of philosophy and religious studies at Arizona State University, joins Frank on the podcast to share how he found himself at odds with the university, and what he’s doing to bring awareness to what appears to be a clear case of discrimination against Christians on campus. Does ASU have the right to enforce syllabus changes just because professor Anderson is a Christian, or have they violated his constitutional rights to speak (and teach) freely? Frank and Owen will dive deep into the answer as well as tackle questions like:
This episode is nothing less of a cautionary tale of what can happen when college campuses go woke! But stay tuned, because this conversation’s just getting started! Be sure to check back in early next week to hear Frank and Owen wrap up their discussion about what’s happening at ASU and other universities across the country.

What’s the correlation between the soul, the brain, and the mind? Many Christians today struggle to grasp the concept of an immaterial soul and how it impacts us physically and mentally.
For this midweek podcast, Frank sits down with Dr. Stan Wallace to discuss his book, ‘Have We Lost Our Minds?: Neuroscience, Neurotheology, the Soul, and Human Flourishing‘, which exposes the errors that even some Christians are making in their denial of the soul and challenges Christians to come to a sound understanding of how the soul functions in relation to the body. As the president and CEO of Global Scholars, Stan has made it his mission to equip Christian professors around the world to have a redemptive influence among their students and colleagues. Frank and Stan will answer questions like:
Later in the episode, Stan will also uncover the six capacities of the human soul as well as explore three ways that we can approach the make-up of the human body. As you’ll hear during their talk, being aware of how mind, body, and soul work together is an important aspect of understanding the biblical worldview. So put on your thinking cap and get ready for an enlightening discussion on some of the ins and outs of soul-body theology!

What’s the best way to love your neighbor? Christians have a biblical responsibility to love their neighbors by being politically engaged, which is why we’re kicking off a series of very important podcast episodes this fall with the #1 goal of educating you on where each party stands on important cultural, moral, and economical issues.
On today’s episode, Frank is joined by special two guests, Wintery Knight and Desert Rose, who have experienced firsthand the negative implications of what happens when a country loses sight of biblical values and goes totally off the rails. How can we prevent the same mistakes from happening here in America? They’ll answer questions like:
When you hear about some of the things that are already happening in our country, it may seem like all hope is lost. But it’s not too late to turn the tide which is why this election cycle is so critically important! As Christians, our eternal hope will always be in the saving grace of Jesus Christ, but that doesn’t mean we should sit out the 2024 presidential election just because we don’t like either candidate. We were made to be the “salt and light” of the world, but if you find yourself getting too much praise from the culture are you really living your life for Christ? Last week, Frank tackled the subject of calling out shepherds that we know are in the wrong (be it theological, political, etc.). For this midweek episode, he continues the conversation by citing an article by Bill Dembski which explores passages in the New Testament that get into the promise of persecution and the dangers of being liked too much by the world.
Frank will also address listener questions on the topics of creation, including: Is the universe expanding AND contracting like an accordion? And how can we be confident that creation actually had a beginning? All this and more will be discussed in this follow-up midweek podcast episode!

If Christianity is true, why aren’t Christians better people? Why are there so many hypocrites in the church? Why haven’t they been transformed by Christ?
Skeptics often question how transformative Christianity truly is when they see Christians behaving badly. But is this a fair critique of the faith itself? When a musician plays Beethoven poorly, do you blame Beethoven?
This week, Frank is diving into your listener questions! Tune in as he responds to an email from a concerned Christian husband whose wife is currently deconstructing her faith, due in part to Christian hypocrisy and “a lack of transformation among Christians as a whole.” During the episode, Frank will answer questions like:
Later in the episode, Frank will address a question about politics and the so-called “separation of church and state.” What 8 key pieces of advice does he have for a woman who wasn’t allowed to set up a voter registration table at her church, how can the Christian church use politics to love our neighbors, and will going political impact your church’s tax exempt status? Why are Christians facing so much hostility when we speak up on political issues? Simply advocating for life in the womb or opposing far-left agendas like Marxism and “gender-affirming care” often gets us labeled as “Christian Nationalists.” Should we let this backlash silence us, or propel us to become even more outspoken?

Natasha will share her insights as to why people make certain decisions and uncover the hypocrisy of claiming that Christians should steer clear of hot-button cultural issues in the public square. During their discussion, Frank and Natasha will answer questions like:
In this podcast episode, we’re reminded that Christians are called to fulfill both the Great Commission and the cultural commission—even if it means facing scrutiny. Don’t allow today’s cancel culture and religious intolerance to convince you that “staying in your lane” equates to avoiding political topics. Could your favorite celebrity pastor or even your church’s leadership be compromising the truth in exchange for cultural approval (and a BIG paycheck)? Many prominent evangelical leaders have become more and more outspoken in questioning the Bible’s clear teachings on political issues like natural marriage and life in the womb, leading to confusion and concern about their underlying motives. Are these pastors and leaders genuinely well-meaning, misled and misguided, or are they progressively embracing the “woke” agenda for money and power?
This week Frank invites Daily Wire journalist, Megan Basham, on the podcast to discuss her new book ‘Shepherds for Sale: How Evangelical Leaders Traded the Truth for a Leftist Agenda‘, which investigates how leftist billionaires have convinced some of today’s pastors and Christian leaders to stray from the Word of God in an effort to sow seeds of discord among the Body of Christ. Is faith in God a personal choice, or is it something that God forces on people against their will? Where were you on Saturday, July 13, when the shocking news broke that former President Trump had been shot? This weekend, we came terrifyingly close to losing a former U.S. president, facing civil unrest, and even approaching the real possibility of a civil war. With so many unanswered questions about the assailant’s motive and the massive security failure, we’re left wondering: where do we go from here, and how did we reach this tragic point in American history?
In this jarring midweek podcast episode, Frank dives into the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump during a rally in Butler, PA, exploring the questionable response by the secret service, and highlighting the reaction of former military sniper and Congressman, Cory Mills. In a society where many seek to erase theism and Christianity altogether, how does an impact event like this point to the validity of the Christian faith and what does it reveal about the true nature of humanity? All of this and more will be discussed as Frank also addresses questions like:
Political violence is NOT the way forward and should never be tolerated! And it’s our job as Christians to respond in a way that includes treating all people with respect, engaging in respectful dialogue, and being able to disagree with people without demonizing them. Let this episode encourage you to vote with a biblical perspective this November, as well as to pray for unity and peace in our nation, for our political leaders, for Trump’s recovery, and for a wise and unifying message from candidate Trump at his Thursday RNC speech.

When was the last time you had a REAL and MEANINGFUL conversation with someone who disagreed with your Christian worldview? We live in a divisive culture that has led to nearly a third of people reporting they have stopped talking to a friend or family member due to a disagreement. Many Christians no longer feel safe to share their opinions for fear or being bullied or cancelled by friends, family, and co-workers. Is staying silent really the answer, or is there a better way to speak the truth in love as God’s ambassadors?
This week, Frank sits down with our good friend, Dr. Sean McDowell—author, Christian apologist, and one of YouTube’s best at interviewing people from opposite ends of the spectrum. They’ll dive into his new book (co-authored with Tim Muehlhoff), ‘End the Stalemate: Move Past Cancel Culture to Meaningful Conversations.’ It’s a must-read guide for Christians looking to revive the art of opinionated dialogue without the hostility. Does the Bible promise prosperity to those who bless and support Israel? In the wake of the October 7th attacks on Israel by the Hamas terrorist group, antisemitism in the West is shockingly at an all-time high. What’s driving this sudden surge in antisemitism, and what can we glean from the Old Testament scriptures in relation to God’s covenant with Abraham and how it applies to the modern state of Israel today?
This week on the podcast, Dr. Jeff Myers, president of Summit Ministries, joins Frank to discuss his latest book, ‘Should Christians Support Israel?: Seeking a Biblical Worldview in an Impossible Situation.’ Tune in as Jeff breaks down the basics of the Israel-Palestine conflict, sharing insights from his recent trip to Israel. He’ll reveal the inspiration behind the book, what he observed in Israel, how locals are responding to the attacks, and what mainstream media isn’t telling us. Does today’s culture value human life in the same way that our Founding Father, Thomas Jefferson, did when he penned the Declaration of Independence? According to statistics compiled by the National Right to Life organization, there have been approximately 63+ million abortions performed in the United States since 1973. While there’s no doubt that Jefferson was fully committed to the concept of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all citizens, many Americans today have been deceived into believing that the right to life only applies to life outside the womb. But if the unborn don’t truly hold these inalienable rights as described in our founding documents, does anyone else?
Last month, pro-life speaker Seth Gruber joined Frank to talk about his brand-new book (and documentary of the same name), ‘The 1916 Project: The Lyin’, The Witch, and the War We’re In‘, and to unpack the life of Margaret Sanger and how her death-obsessed legacy continues to cripple modern society. As a continuation of their last conversation, Seth returns to tell us about the fastest-growing pro-life non-profit organization in America, The White Rose Resistance, its inspirational backstory, and why it’s crucial for the Church to speak out and be courageous in a hostile culture, no matter the cost. How did we drift so far away from the right to life? Is racism America’s original sin? How did Gnosticism influence Margaret Sanger’s worldview? What is the danger of spiritual atrophy and how can you avoid falling into it? You don’t want to miss the shocking answers to these questions in this jaw-dropping follow-up episode!

What would you do if you learned that your child’s school had been plotting an elaborate scheme to legally abduct your child, cutting off all communication from you and forcing them into a state-run facility because they view you as the enemy? Could we really be living in an America where teachers introduce vulnerable students to drugs and pornography, implanting transgender ideology into their minds, all the while deliberately hiding it from their parents? Believe it or not, these horror stories are happening all over the country, even in America’s most conservative states! But what can you do to protect your children?
This week, Frank sits down with Laura Bryant Hanford, an advocate for human rights, religious freedom and school policy, a contributing writer to The Federalist, and a graduate of Princeton University. As a concerned mother of five herself, Laura’s involvement with the Fairfax County’s Family Life Education Curriculum Advisory Committee has given her key insight into what’s really going on in our educational system and what you can do to change it! During their conversation, Frank and Laura will answer questions like:
The topic of this week’s podcast is outrageous and alarming but it could save your child’s life (and your peace of mind)! Not only will this episode uncover the multifaceted avenues that can be used to trap innocent kids, but it’ll bring awareness to the issue as well as provide you with the resources you need to shield underage youth from these heinous, demonic abuses of power. Is the whole of Scripture just a disorganized collection of conflicting documents? Some scholars think so, claiming it to be a battleground for historical contradictions. But what if it’s actually a carefully orchestrated thread, woven together and preserved by the Divine Author Himself?
Just a few episodes ago, Dr. Chip Bennett wowed listeners with his insights into the resurrection themes and third day narratives from the Old Testament. For this midweek podcast episode, Chip returns to dive even deeper into the Hebrew Bible and to uncover how the Messianic prophecies are intertwined with the tales of patriarchs like Jacob, Joseph, Joshua, and Judah. How do some of our daily routines point to the resurrection? Can the story of Cinderella shed light on the Gospel? How does the third day relate to life and death motifs? All these questions and more will be answered in the conclusion of this special three-part series. How did things like third-trimester abortions, infanticide, euthanasia, critical race theory, transgender ideology, and drag queen story hour become embedded in modern American culture? In an age where children are exposed to pornographic material in their own school libraries and concerned parents are labeled as “domestic terrorists”, where can we find the root cause of the underlying worldview that’s currently dominating our society? And how did we end up here so quickly? The answers may shock you!
In what may be one of the most controversial and revelatory podcast episodes to date, Frank interviews pro-life speaker Seth Gruber, author of the book and soon-to-be released documentary called ‘The 1916 Project‘, which explores how abortion became the linchpin of secularism and how it’s destroying western civilization. As founder of the fastest-growing pro-life non-profit organization in America, The White Rose Resistance, Seth’s jaw-dropping research has uncovered the dark history of Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, and her disturbing, undeniable connection to Nazism, Darwinism, the Jewish Holocaust, and even BLM! Where can we find the concept of the third day being played out in the Old Testament? Esther, Isaac, Daniel, Jonah and even Goliath point to the life and resurrection of Jesus Christ. But how do the stories surrounding these Old Testament figures relate to events in the New Testament that occurred both before and after the resurrection of Jesus? Once you see all of these connections, you won’t be able to unsee them!
Last week, podcast listeners were blown away by Dr. Chip Bennett‘s exposé of how Jesus is revealed in the Old Testament. And for this midweek podcast, he returns to unpack significant parallels that every Bible-believing Christian needs to know about! By exploring the richness of interpreting the Scriptures through the literary hermeneutic, Chip will explore key passages from the Old and New Testaments that show how God weaved these stories together to beautifully illustrate the message of the Gospel. How is Jesus greater than Moses and David? What’s the difference between how the Antiochian Church and Alexandrian Church interpreted Scripture? How is Chip using TikTok to reach the next generation with the Gospel? Jesus told His disciples that every story in the Old Testament points to Him. But what did He mean? If you look closely, you’ll find that the Hebrew Bible contains 30+ “third day” references and parallels to Jesus that fly under the radar for most readers. But where exactly are these resurrection prophecies located? And why do so many Christians have trouble picking up on them and making the connection to the prophecies that were fulfilled through Jesus in the New Testament?
This week, Dr. Chip Bennett, founding and leading pastor of Grace Community Church in Sarasota, FL, joins Frank to uncover some of the Old Testament resurrection parallels that often go unnoticed, even by dedicated students of the Bible. More than just your average pastor, Chip also holds a PhD in Systematic Theology and a Doctorate of Ministry, and is here to enthusiastically unpack some of the third day references that are hidden in plain sight and to give listeners a lesson on the significance of literary hermeneutics. During their conversation, Frank and Chip will answer questions like:

Is it possible that the Bible actually contains errors? And if so, how would these errors impact the message of the Gospel? These are fair questions that some Christians may be afraid to ask. But does an error or two discredit the overall authenticity and reliability of the Scriptures or the historicity of the Resurrection?
For this midweek podcast, Dr. Mike Licona, author of the brand new book ‘Jesus, Contradicted: Why the Gospels Tell the Same Story Differently‘ returns to continue unpacking the true meaning of biblical inerrancy and to explore the significance of compositional writing styles of the ancient world. What are some of the “errors” that can be found in the Old and New Testaments, and how do scholars attempt to reconcile some of these discrepancies? Why would God even allow the Bible to include mistakes? Do most Christians really have a high view of Scripture? And just how important was precise accuracy to ancient writers? All this and more will be discussed in the conclusion of this controversial (and important) talk surrounding the trustworthiness of the Bible.

The post What Does Biblical Inerrancy REALLY Mean? | with Dr. Mike Licona appeared first on Cross Examined.
Do most Christians have the wrong definition of inerrancy? You may have noticed some pretty significant discrepancies between the different Gospel accounts in the New Testament–discrepancies that skeptic Bart Ehrman didn’t hesitate to point out during past debates with Dr. William Lane Craig, Jimmy Akin, AND today’s guest! Is there a way for Bible believing Christians to harmonize these variations, or should we throw out the concept of Bible inerrancy altogether?
This week, author, Christian apologist, and New Testament scholar, Dr. Mike Licona, sits down with Frank to expose the truth about “errors” in the Bible, specifically tackling some of Bart Ehrman’s objections to the reliability of the New Testament. He’ll also discuss the release of his new book, ‘Jesus, Contradicted: Why the Gospels Tell the Same Story Differently‘, which is a resource aimed to help Christians navigate through textual variances. During the episode, Frank and Mike will answer questions like:
Buckle your seatbelts friends, because this podcast episode is likely going to make you uncomfortable by challenging much of what you’ve been taught (or assumed) about biblical inerrancy. Is it okay that the Bible doesn’t have camera-like accuracy in some places? Listen as Dr. Licona helps us to take a fresh look at the doctrine of inerrancy and then decide for yourself. Do most Protestants have a good grasp on Roman Catholic theology or are they largely misunderstanding some of its core doctrines? While Protestants and Catholics share certain beliefs, there are also key doctrinal differences that have led to numerous church councils and theological debates throughout Church history. What are some of the most common misconceptions that many Protestants have about Roman Catholicism and what exactly does the Catholic Church teach about eternal salvation?
For this midweek podcast, author and Catholic Apologist, Jimmy Akin, returns to set the record straight about the Catholic faith and to dispel some of the false ideas that Protestants have about the Roman Catholic Church. With his unique perspective as a former Protestant himself, Akin will unpack what it is that Catholics actually believe in regards to the Gospel, justification, baptism, purgatory, and much more! During their conversation, Frank and Jimmy will answer questions like:

When Christians suggest that the Bible is without error, what does that actually mean? And are there really good reasons to believe that the Bible, (specifically the New Testament) is both historically reliable and inerrant? Critics like Bart Ehrman raise challenging and thought-provoking questions about contradictions in the Gospels and Jesus’ resurrection, but are they true contradictions or just apparent contradictions?
For this week’s podcast, Frank sits down with author and Catholic apologist, Jimmy Akin, to talk about his recent debate with the well-known atheist and UNC Chapel Hill professor, Bart Ehrman. Serving as a senior apologist on Catholic Answers, Jimmy will unpack how he used his seasoned debate skills to graciously disarm his opponent while laying out a good case for New Testament reliability and exploring the standards of writing in the first century. During their conversation, Frank and Jimmy will answer questions like:
As Jimmy shares his unique strategy in approaching his dialogue with Ehrman, he’ll also drop some insight on the importance of understanding the Bible’s historical context, clarify the difference between truth and precision, and touch on why there are a variety of writing styles among the New Testament authors. This laid back and light-hearted podcast episode comes jam-packed with apologetics knowledge bombs so grab your pen and paper and prepare to learn more about what it really means for the New Testament to be reliable! Were Harrison Butker’s bold statements during his recent Benedictine College commencement speech worth all of the public backlash he received in response? Although many are now hailing the Super Bowl winning NFL kicker as a hero for speaking up, others are calling for him to be fired from the league altogether. What exactly did he say that caused so much outrage and what biblical truths can we gather from the controversial (and now viral) speech?

Should Christians get involved with politics, or should we just stay out of the way because “religion and politics don’t mix”? While some Christians have the tendency to idolize political influence, others have gone to the opposite end of the spectrum, choosing to completely shy away from engaging in public policy altogether. What does the Bible and common sense have to say about this?
This week Tony Perkins, the president of the Family Research Council who has worked with congress and presidents for decades, joins Frank to talk about the need for Christians to take politics seriously and use it as a means to advance the Gospel by protecting religious freedom and to love their neighbors by protecting them from evil for generations to come. As a pro-life/pro-family advocate and political leader with a background in both the U.S. Marine Corps and ministry, Tony will share some valuable insights into the current political landscape, urging Christians to actively participate in shaping laws and policies. During their conversation, Frank and Tony will answer questions like:

What exactly constitutes “free speech” and falls under the protection of the First Amendment? As the political left increasingly advocates for (and often achieves) unconstitutional censorship, the line between what’s permissible and what’s not in public dialogue becomes increasingly blurred. In this age dominated by social media and cancel culture, who ultimately holds the authority in deciding what is or isn’t allowed in the public square?
This week, Seth Dillon, CEO of The Babylon Bee, sits down with Frank to discuss concerns about big tech’s role in American censorship, why the Babylon Bee was censored, and how he’s combating it through satire and comedy using his popular Christian news satire website lovingly dubbed, “the definitive source of fake news you can trust”. You’ll also get to hear Seth’s recent congressional testimony where he defended the right to free speech during the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology in Washington, D.C. During their conversation, Frank and Seth will answer questions like:
Later in the discussion, Seth will talk about the inspiration and backstory behind some of The Babylon Bee’s most hilarious headlines from this past week, touch on Vice President Kamala Harris’ recent statements about abortion, share some helpful tips on how all content creators can push against big tech’s attempt to silence you on social media, and unpack the worldview that’s motivating the anti-Israel protests on U.S. college campuses. It’s impossible to cram all of these topics into just one podcast episode, so be sure to join Frank and Seth on the upcoming midweek podcast for the conclusion of this important and eye-opening talk on censorship!

What’s driving the anti-Israel protests storming college campuses all across America? Schools like Columbia University, UCLA, Emory, Harvard, and Yale have been hit with massive pro-Palestinian mobs that have led to hundreds of arrests and violent threats against the Jewish student populations. Why are these angry (yet seemingly sophisticated) mobs targeting college campuses and how have they successfully managed to recruit students to join in the madness even at the threat of expulsion?
In this midweek podcast, John guides us through a conversation investigating the ongoing anti-Israel protests as he also breaks down the geopolitical, historical, theological, and prophetic backdrop. He’ll also provide an update as to how the U.S. government is responding to these hostile demonstrations in real time and expose the true heart and motivation behind them. During the episode, John will answer questions like:
As you learn about the context surrounding the protests and the Israel-Hamas conflict, it’ll become more and more apparent why Christian apologists should have a vested interest in the nation of Israel. Take a listen as John reveals how politics is playing a major role in the recent rise of antisemitism on college campuses in the U.S. and explores how the Islamic worldview continues to fuel hostility between Jews and Arabs in the Middle East. And please continue to pray for the safety of Israel and a peaceable end to this ongoing war.

If God exists, then why are there so many church scandals? Why does racism exist and why are Christians so hypocritical? When it comes down to it, why does evil exist at all? In other words, does Christianity still make sense?
This week Frank talks with author, philosopher, CIA instructor, and pastor of Image Church, Dr. Bobby Conway about his brand-new book, ‘Does Christianity Still Make Sense?: A Former Skeptic Responds to Today’s Toughest Objections to Christianity‘, where he documents his battle with unbelief and the steps he took to emerge successfully on the other side with his faith intact. How did a pastor with a thriving church and a national Christian apologetics platform plunge into an intense season of debilitating doubt and narrowly escape full out apostasy? Frank and Bobby will address this in detail throughout their conversation and answer questions like:
Are you or someone you know feeling trapped in the depths of doubt? Don’t lose hope because there’s a light at the end of the tunnel! If good is God, why is there so much evil in the world? And if God wants us to trust Him and love Him, why does He stay so hidden? Those are two of the most powerful objections to Christianity. But even if you couldn’t come up with answers to these questions, is that reason enough to abandon the faith and embrace a different worldview?
This week, Frank uses logic, reasoning, and modern day examples to explain that even if objections to Christianity cannot be fully answered, the evidence we do have for God far outweighs them. Or in his words, “don’t let what you don’t know cause you doubt what you do know.” He also takes the time to address a listener question and some long-term studies coming out that reveal some staggering (but not surprising) statistics about so-called gender dysphoria in adolescents. Are there any practical ways that Christians and conservatives can stop the encroachment of woke ideology in our schools, businesses, and local communities? While the recent push for DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), critical theory, and transgender ideology may seem impossible to overcome, all hope is not lost!
In the last podcast episode, Frank’s guest, international speaker, author, and leading CRT expert, Dr. James Lindsay broke down the foundational beliefs of critical theory and how this “wokeness” ideology is an exceedingly hostile threat to western civilization and our American freedoms. This week, Dr. Lindsay returns to offer some tips and strategies that you can put in place in an effort to battle this destruction force in the U.S. How did Dr. Lindsay use his creative writing skills to combat woke educators? What’s the best way for Christians to react to provocative events like the recent “Trans Visibility Day” that landed on Easter? How can you use your unique gifts and talents to make a difference? All that and more will be discussed in the conclusion of this essential two-part series!

Is there an all out assault on common sense in the West? Over the last decade or so, proponents of “wokeness” have asserted crazy ideas like “men can get pregnant”, “whiteness is evil”, the extermination of Jews “from the river to the sea”, and kids should be sterilized through “gender-affirming care.” Where are these bizarre ideas coming from, what are they rooted in, and how are they shaping the future of America?
This week, international speaker, author of ‘The Queering of The American Child,’ and leading expert on Critical Race Theory, Dr. James Lindsay, joins Frank to discuss the calculated attempt by socialists (and other Marxists in disguise) to establish a modern utopian society and take down all of western civilization through woke propaganda, immigration, and destroying the economy. During the podcast, Frank and Dr. Lindsay will answer questions like:
Dr. Lindsay’s knowledge and expertise on the subject of CRT has caused him to reject it completely and to sound the alarm on it through his now famous speech at last year’s European Union Parliament, his appearances with Joe Rogan, Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, and also through his own podcast called ‘New Discourses.’ Throughout the episode, he’ll lay out the worldview of CRT and Marxism, the ultimate goals of wokism, and the potentially devastating impact that it will have on free nations. What historical evidence is there for people like Peter, Simon of Cyrene, Pontius Pilate, Jesus, Caiaphas, and other key figures in Jesus’s crucifixion? Seven people who had something to do with the trial of Jesus have been found through archaeology! Moreover, excavations in Israel have unearthed numerous archaeological finds that corroborate precisely what’s recorded in the Bible. But what if excavations in Israel are just the tip of the iceberg? Beyond Israel, has the wider ancient world yielded artifacts that shed light on the biblical narrative? And what about Jesus? Is there any archaeological evidence that leads us back to Him?
For this midweek podcast episode, Frank invites author and field archaeologist, Dr. Titus Kennedy, to talk about his brand-new book ‘The Essential Archaeological Guide to Bible Lands: Uncovering Biblical Sites of the Ancient Near East and Mediterranean World.’ In the book, Dr. Kennedy explores the various archaeological discoveries across the entirety of the ancient world that provide evidence for the historical accuracy of the Bible. During the episode, Frank and Titus and answer questions like:
Recognizing the great significance of the evidence that has been located in places like North Africa, Rome, Anatolia, and Mesopotamia, Titus has written this book as a modern resource for an area of archaeology that has gone relatively untouched for the past 30 years! This episode barely scratches the surface of what’s uncovered in the book so be sure to grab your copy of ‘The Essential Archaeological Guide to Bible Lands.’ And if you desire to go even deeper in exploring biblical archaeology, enroll in the brand-new online course called ‘Reasons for Faith‘ where Dr. Kennedy will serve as one of the LIVE instructors along with Dr. Stephen Meyer!

How did an itinerant preacher, born into poverty and raised in an obscure village, a man who never wrote a book or had a formal education, who was betrayed by his friends and ultimately crucified on a rugged cross, rise to become THE central figure in human history? Jesus of Nazareth has left an undeniable mark on the world and all of western society, surpassing the influence of any other person who has ever existed. But is it possible that the story of Jesus and His resurrection was invented by the authors of the New Testament?
He is risen! In anticipation of Easter Sunday, Frank invites the skilled Christian apologist and evolutionary biologist, Dr. Jonathan McLatchie, to make the case for the resurrection through the exploration of New Testament scholarship. McLatchie, who’s done a number of debates in defense of the Christian faith, will share his insights on the evidence for the resurrection, the reliability of the New Testament, and point out the significance of some of the details found in the Gospels and the book of Acts. During their conversation, Frank and Jonathan will answer questions like:
McLatchie will also walk us through his two-step approach of defending the resurrection by using what’s called the maximum data case. Later in the episode, Dr. McLatchie will talk about his online ministry that aims to mentor Christians and ex-Christians who are struggling with doubt by offering live interaction with experts in various fields of Christian scholarship. Is the U.S. government deliberately targeting patriotic Americans with conservative values? In a post 9/11 America, the necessary push to prevent Islamic terrorism opened the door for justice agencies to shift their focus to what they now call “domestic terrorists”. But what if your conservative, Christian beliefs have the potential to put you on the government’s radar as a domestic threat?
This week, author, apologist, speaker, and political commentator, Dinesh D’Souza, joins Frank to discuss his new documentary film ‘Police State‘, which is sounding the alarm on the Deep State’s witch hunt of ordinary, law-abiding citizens who happen to be conservatives and/or Christians. If you don’t agree with the Bible, you ultimately find yourself at odds with the teachings of Jesus and that’s never a good idea. When a fellow Christian confides in you that they’re “deconstructing”, what do you say and what kind of advice do you give them? Or even worse, what if YOU aren’t sure what to believe anymore? It can be normal to wrestle with lingering doubts, but this slow and steady process of disillusionment often causes many people in our culture today to completely walk away from the truth of the Christian faith. So when this happens, what’s the best way to help someone tackle those doubts without shipwrecking the saving grace of Jesus Christ?
Our friend and Biola apologetics professor, Dr. Sean McDowell, is no stranger to struggling with doubt. In this week’s podcast episode, Sean joins Frank to talk about overcoming his own season of deconstruction and how his new book (co-authored with John Marriott), ‘Set Adrift: Deconstructing What You Believe Without Sinking Your Faith‘ can help others learn how to deconstruct in a safe way. During the episode, Sean and Frank address questions like:
Being the son of one of the most well-known and well-respected Christian apologists, Josh McDowell, didn’t stop Sean from questioning if Christianity is really true. If you’re in the process of deconstruction, what’s your angle? Are you searching for the truth or avoiding it? “You can’t trust the New Testament writers because they were Christians!” How many times have you heard that objection? Atheists and skeptics often claim that the life of Jesus has been embellished throughout the centuries and that the eyewitness testimonies recorded in the Gospels are biased. But is it reasonable to believe that the New Testament authors were motivated to create or exaggerate the resurrection story for their own benefit?
In 2013, homicide detective turned Christian apologist, J. Warner Wallace, released the now modern-day apologetics classic, ‘Cold-Case Christianity’, to address those questions and it changed lives around the world! But how could a book as great as ‘Cold-Case Christianity’ be made even better? There comes a time when truth must be spoken, and a line must be drawn in the sand. But what happens when speaking the truth costs you your livelihood or your job?
In this midweek podcast episode, Dr. Erwin Lutzer returns to the program to give listeners advice on how Christians can navigate life in a collapsing culture, focusing specifically on the issue of Christian persecution. You may be surprised to learn that there are practical steps you can take if your religious freedoms are taken away by the same people who say they are fighting for tolerance, diversity, and inclusion.

What’s behind the current ‘unraveling of America’? And how should we respond? We’re living in unprecedented times when Christians can either choose to stoop to the pressures of cultural demands or stand for the truth of Christ. Which one will you choose?
This week, our friend Dr. Erwin Lutzer joins Frank to discuss the inspiration behind his two latest books titled ‘We Will Not Be Silenced: Responding Courageously to our Culture’s Assault on Christianity’ and ‘No Reason to Hide: Standing for Christ in a Collapsing Culture.’
The author of more than 50 books and former Senior Pastor of Moody Church, Dr. Lutzer, is sounding the alarm on the totalitarianism that has crept into America and why we should confront this issue head-on. Are the cries for diversity, equity, and inclusion legitimate? Or have these buzzwords been used to debilitate the Church and end modern society as we know it? In this discussion, Frank and Dr. Lutzer will answer questions like:
Christians have allowed this collapse by remaining silent, but we can no longer afford to be silent. We hope that by the end of this episode, you’ll better understand why submitting to the cultural orthodoxies is not an option for the Church!

Does God want everybody to be well? By the power of your faith can you abolish all sickness from your life and your loved ones’?
In this midweek podcast episode, Jorge and John take a close look at the “Health and Wellness Gospel” and how it fails to embrace the whole council of Scripture. At its best, this idea has some basis in the Bible, but stretches the text beyond recognition. And at its worse, it sets people up for disappointment, disillusionment, and even deconversion.
To be clear, God wants all of us well (eventually), but in the mean time, we live in a fallen world marked by sickness, death, and disease. Miraculous healing does happen (sometimes), but that’s God’s prerogative and not in our power to control. We’re left to minister in this war torn landscape, through the sickness and suffering. There we find perhaps the greatest testimony to the truth of Christ is when we suffer well. In that way, Jesus’ words still shine through as a ray of hope: “In this world you will have trouble, but take heart I [Jesus] have overcome the world.” (John 16:33).

There certainly has been something nefarious going on with the making of the movie ‘Nefarious‘. Sicknesses, accidents, technical difficulties, and much more disrupted the production of the new film (reminiscent of C.S. Lewis’ Screwtape Letters) released on April 14th. Were these accidents all the result of mere coincidences? Or was true spiritual warfare at play?
This week, Frank interviews Steve Deace, the writer of the novel ‘A Nefarious Plot‘, to discuss the good, the scary, and the downright strange occurrences that took place while working on the book’s film adaptation. In spite of all of the events that could’ve brought this film to a halt, ‘Nefarious’ has finally hit theaters and is a film that both Christians and non-Christians are guaranteed to enjoy!

Have you ever wondered why reality is the way that it is? And what worldview can best explain it? Some of the greatest thinkers in modern and ancient history have pondered the order and beauty of the universe, only to conclude that an “unmoved mover” or “cosmic lawgiver” is the BEST explanation for its existence. But sadly, many in modern society seem to ignore what’s staring at them right in the face!
No matter what you believe, all valid religions or worldviews ought to be able to explain WHY reality is the way it is. To do this, there are at least five aspects of reality that humanity has long sought an explanation for:
In this week’s podcast episode, Frank walks us through THREE of the 5 M’s – there was simply too much amazing stuff to squeeze in all 5 so stay tuned for ‘Part 2’! As Christians, we believe that God holds and sustains all things, but believing something and being able to explain it are very different things. Fortunately, today’s podcast will give you a better understanding of how the fundamental laws of nature and logic ultimately point to God. Is there evidence for the Exodus plagues that comes from Egypt? Shockingly, there is — at least there seems to be. In this midweek podcast episode, Frank examines the amazing parallels between the biblical Exodus and an ancient artifact known as the Ipuwer Papyrus.
It’s hard to believe, but as you’ll learn, the Ipuwer Papyrus, which was authored in Egypt sometime in the second millennium BC, expresses conditions in ancient Egypt that appear to be the results of the Biblical plagues. Of course, this is controversial, especially for those who think the Exodus never actually happened. We report, YOU decide.
Frank also shows that the plagues were not random — they were direct assaults on the Egyptian gods, and the hardening of Pharaoh’s heart is a slam on the Egyptian theology of the afterlife. Moses certainly knew the Egyptian culture. How did he get it so right?

In today’s world, popularity trumps truth. Many Christians are hiding under their desks and many pastors are hiding behind the lectern in fear of being cancelled. That’s why it’s so refreshing when someone like Father Calvin Robinson comes along, and shakes up the world with his winsome words of truth and wisdom!
A couple weeks ago, Frank did a podcast episode that walked listeners through a fabulous debate speech that Fr Calvin delivered at the Oxford Student Union back in February, and today our new friend from across the pond joins the program to talk about wokeness in the Church of England and around the world. Do we need deep scientific knowledge in order to make arguments for the existence of God? Or can we demonstrate a general, objective, rational case for God’s existence using common observations found in our everyday life? Philosopher and theologian Thomas Aquinas introduced the world to his “Five Ways” for the existence of God back in the 13th century, and they are still being discussed and debated today. There are some similarities between Aquinas’ Five Ways and many other common arguments for the existence of God (Kalam cosmological, moral, teleological, etc.) but there are also some important distinctions to keep in mind.
In this midweek podcast episode, Frank sits down with Dr. David Haines, assistant professor of theology and philosophy at Bethlehem College and Seminary, to discuss two of the five arguments Aquinas used to prove the existence of God. David is active in research related to ancient and medieval philosophy, early Reformed theology, C.S. Lewis, Thomism, natural law, and natural theology. He has given conference presentations and published a number of articles and books in these areas, including Natural Theology and Natural Law. As Frank and David introduce the audience to two of these Five Ways of Aquinas, you will see that their (relative) simplicity can be deceiving, and their nuances will continue to spark discussion for many more centuries to come!

What’s more likely? That no one created something from nothing, or that someone created something from nothing? If you ask an atheist or an agnostic this question, the answer may shock you. “If the world is against the truth, then I am against the world.” The words of Athanasius remain relevant even in modern times, as society continues to pressure the church to abandon Christian orthodoxy. In a video that has now gone viral, Father Calvin Robinson shared this quote from Athanasius during his 12-minute long debate speech at the Oxford Union. When bishops within his own church made the decision to “bless same-sex unions”, Robinson chose to defend the sanctity of marriage in response.
Listen as Frank highlights numerous “truth bombs” that were dropped in the debate and explores some of the questions posed by Father Robinson, including:
Most of us will never go viral for defending the faith, but we will undoubtedly encounter this issue within our own communities. This podcast episode is guaranteed to help Christians and conservatives address this sensitive topic. In the words of G.K. Chesterton, “We do not want a church that will move with the world. The post How to Speak the Truth on Same Sex Marriage (Even If the World Hates You For It) appeared first on Cross Examined.
There comes a time in every Christian’s life when their faith will be challenged. Apologetics has become a resource for many Christians who have the desire to learn how to defend the faith with confidence. Oftentimes that confidence can morph into contention when people lose sight of the reason why they studied apologetics in the first place. When used properly, apologetics can be a tool used for evangelism. But when the need to win an argument trumps the desire to spread the Gospel, apologetics can quickly become an outlet for friendly fire.
In this midweek podcast episode, guest hosts and CrossExamined speakers Jorge Gil and Dr. John Ferrer guide us through steps we can take to avoid becoming combative apologists. They also touch on the issue of social media and how it has impacted the field of apologetics. Some of the questions addressed in this episode are:
Defending the faith is a skill that all Christians can be excited about developing as long as we remember the WHY of our defense. Don’t let your passion for apologetics kill your compassion for people!

The post Are You a Wise Apologist (or Just a Wise Guy)? appeared first on Cross Examined.
According to the New Testament, producing good fruit is being obedient to the commands of Christ. Jesus Himself even said, “If you love me, you’ll keep my commandments.” It seems that in order to behave the right way we first have to believe the right things–the revealed Word of God. The problem is, as Western society continues to grow hostile towards the biblical Christian worldview, many are embracing progressive “Christianity” as a more appealing alternative. But does this movement have the capacity to help its followers without causing harm?
On this week’s podcast episode, guest hosts Alisa Childers and Natasha Crain use popular memes from the internet to expose the inconsistencies found within the progressive Christian movement and defend the inerrancy of Scripture. They remind us why Christians should continue to view the Bible as the authoritative Word of God and address several important questions including:

How do Christians strike a balance when it comes to engaging with politics? If we don’t get involved, we’re not fulfilling our duty to seek truth and be salt and light. But on the other hand, there are times when we take things too far, and political candidates (instead of Jesus) become the rallying point of our faith.
On today’s midweek podcast episode, Dr. Michael L. Brown returns to discuss what it looks like when we keep our priorities straight and shares some highlights from his book, The Political Seduction of the Church: How Millions Of American Christians Have Confused Politics with the Gospel. We are living in unprecedented times when Christian leaders are renouncing their faith, and large numbers of believers are falling away. Is this the final apostasy prophesied by Jesus and Paul? And can we do anything to help those struggling with their faith?

In his latest book, Why So Many Christians Have Left the Faith, Dr. Brown confronts the problem of “Christian deconstruction” with solid, faith-building answers and honest responses to difficult questions. Is it wrong to criticize other Christians when their beliefs and actions don’t line up with the Word of God? Many people think so. Just ask our friend Natasha Crain, who received a sack full of virtual hate mail for her recent blog post, which logically pointed out several issues and concerns with the $100 million “He Gets Us” advertising campaign that seemed to tickle the ears of many Christians. During the first half of this week’s podcast episode, Frank goes through several points Natasha outlines in her blog post and reminds listeners that Jesus Himself was pretty serious about correcting people (especially the religious leaders!) for leading others astray.
In the second half, he shares some insights from the 2023 Discovery Institute Science and Faith Conference in Dallas, along with his recent speaking engagement at Liberty University on the topic of legislating morality. He also takes the time to answer listener questions.

The post Are You Defending THE Faith or YOUR Faith? (Part 2) appeared first on Cross Examined.
What happens when “Christians” deny a core doctrine of Christianity? It seems that many people in our culture today are creating their own versions of the Christian faith based on their personal preferences and don’t care whether something is true or not. For them, it boils down to one simple question: “Is this going to work for me?”
In 1945, C.S. Lewis did a presentation for a group of Anglican ministers which later turned into an essay called ‘Christian Apologetics’. In it, Lewis makes clear that the Christian faith has certain boundaries, and if you decide to step outside of those boundaries, “you must change your profession.” On today’s podcast, Frank goes through different sections of the essay to illustrate the different lessons we can learn from Lewis’ musings today—even though he voiced them over 75 years ago!
In fact, there is so much to learn from this one essay that it wouldn’t fit into one episode, so be sure to watch out for Part 2 during the midweek podcast next week!

The post What Should You Do When a Loved One Deconstructs (Leaves the Faith)? | with Alisa Childers appeared first on Cross Examined.
The Bible is God’s Word. It contains history, entertaining stories, poetry, philosophy, and personal letters. However, the Bible is not just a list of wise sayings that can be pulled out as if from a fortune cookie. It is a unified work and must be carefully read and studied in context. So, the million-dollar question is: How can we know what parts of the Bible apply to us today?
On today’s podcast, Frank responds to a listener who calls him a “heretic” for saying that Jeremiah 29:11 is not a promise to modern-day Christians. After all, if it’s not a promise, why is it in the Bible? And does that mean we should ignore other verses like John 3:16 too?

Do we need a Ph.D. in ancient Near East culture to understand what the book of Genesis really means? Some Bible scholars make it sound like we need to go way beyond just basic grammar skills to get a firm grasp of what is truly happening in the text. Why would God do that?
In the first half of this week’s podcast episode, Frank continues the conversation from the past two weeks on Bible interpretation and the Book of Genesis and gives listeners a broad introduction to biblical hermeneutics. Then, CrossExamined speaker Dr. John Ferrer joins the program to do a deep dive into the interpretation of Genesis 1 and Exodus with a special emphasis on the striking differences between the Bible and Mesopotamian + Egyptian creation stories. Fascinating stuff! You’ll walk away with two helpful acronyms to keep in mind whenever you read the Bible as well as a better understanding of how God chooses to reveal Himself to us.

Should we interpret the Bible literally? One of our recent shows has stirred up a hornet’s nest with regard to that question! Just HOW do we interpret the Bible? Can something be true, but not expressed literally? And if that’s the case, why would God make things so difficult for us to figure out?
On this week’s podcast episode, Frank responds to a listener’s question that relates to the discussion he had with Dr. John Walton last week on the right way to interpret Genesis. He does a deep dive into Genesis 1:1 and explains that even though everything in the Bible is literally true, not everything in the Bible is expressed literally. He also walks listeners through a fun + educational thought experiment and shares some of the most popular Hebrew and Greek idioms we find in the Bible.
