It's time to get real about the ways we hold ourselves back with self-sabotage & limiting beliefs.
In this episode, I'm digging deep into why we need to address those stories we tell ourselves about who we are, and what we deserve.
Right now, we're in a massive cultural shift, and for us women, it's our moment to step up, not just to break through ceilings but to build our own spaces where we flourish.
I'll take you through my own journey, and the journey of other women entrepreneurs who realized that the one thing standing between them and their dream life was... their limiting beliefs and self-concept.
We'll talk about those nagging thoughts that we're not enough, that we don't deserve the spotlight, or that we're meant to go it alone—and I'll tell you, it's time to call them out.
So, if you're tired of being your own roadblock and you're ready to claim the life and success you deserve, this episode's for you.

Today I take time to discuss the importance of acceptance . It can be challenging to cultivate acceptance for many reasons. We fear the unknown, avoid emotional pain, and let expectations of others judge us.
Yet, doing so has many benefits in our journey toward resolving internal conflicts.
Listen to the episode to find out more about THE skill central to many Eastern philosophies.
Episode structure:
1. Why acceptance is challenging
2. What does denial do to us?
3. What can acceptance bring us?
4. How do we cultivate it?
Have you ever been in a situation where you felt motivated about implementing a change in your life?
Like waking up early, changing your eating habits, or changing some of your personality traits.
Only to end up in a spiral of negative thinking, self-sabotage and procrastination.
Many of us go through this, and a lot of times it's difficult to catch it while it's happening.
Instead: we give up.
Did you know that resistance is actually a very normal response of our brain, to change?
In this episode the focus is on psychological resistance and how we can practically approach solving it. It's discussed from the neuroscience, psychological, and psychoanalytical perspective.
Enjoy!!

The focus is on discussing trends that seem to become more prevalent into our lives. Do we mindlessly adopt them, or do we stop and think about how they can serve us?
The focus is on:
1. The adoption of AI, specifically ChatGPT into our lives. At what cost are we adopting this? Are we aware of the negative consequences?
The emergence of authenticity on social media: TikTok vs. Instagram, de-influencing, raw emotions, blurry pictures.
The continuous obsession with health: magnesium supplements, ashwagandha, mushroom gummies & lymphatic drainage.
Loneliness is becoming the norm: our hunter gatherer brain, being disconnected in the age of connection.
Hope you enjoy!!

"The more we face our own conflicts and seek out our own solutions, the more inner freedom and strength we will gain." - Karen D. Horney.
Internal conflicts are deeply understood in the field of psychoanalysis, as they explore the role of the subconscious in how we behave. People like Carl Jung & Karen D. Horney have spent years studying people, and guiding them to resolve internal conflicts.
The focus in this episode is on the individual processes that make internal conflicts arise & the tools they laid down for us to use to discover and resolve these conflicts.
Why is this important? As the quote above states: self-discovery is important for gaining more inner freedom and strength. Yet, how many of us truly understand why and how we even get to a point of experiencing conflicts?
The wisdom from Horney is used to understand how conflicts arise, how they are related to our attachment style, the coping style we adopt, and how the idealized self image can be problematic.
Afterwards, I present how to work of Jung gives us practical tools to bring the hidden parts of ourselves into our conscious awareness, like dream analysis.
Book: "Our inner conflicts: A constructive theory of neurosis" by Karen D. Horney
In this episode we continue with a discussion that started in the last episode: being an expat. This time we go into one aspect of it, which is having to create and maintain friendships in a new city, as adults.
The conflict discussed is: On the one hand wanting to go out there to form connections while being conflicted about the effort required to have high quality friendships.
We go through the episode discussing direct benefits we've experienced from close friendships, the difficulties of forming these as adults and how we cope.
Questions answered:
- What motivates you to pursue friendships with others while living in a new city?
- What are some direct benefits you experience from adult friendships?
- What are some downsides of forming and maintaining these friendships?
- How do you cope with this conflict?
I'm joined by a close friend as we discuss our experiences as expats in The Netherlands, our daily internal conflicts, how we deal with difficult feelings, pressures of the 20s, and working towards radical self acceptance.
Paul-Antoine is a podcast editor and lover of art. He is someone that believes strongly in pursuing a life that you love and not settling for the expectations of others. He is also a great friend of mine! You will notice this as the conversations flows very easily as we make jokes and talk about internal conflicts in cinema :)

Why is it important to discuss internal conflicts? How do you go about understanding why you are conflicted about decisions in your life? What does it even mean to coexist?
In todays episode, the focus is on introducing internal conflicts and highlighting their relevance in the current societal context. From the personal benefits of improving life quality, to the macro benefits of stimulating compassion and having a future proof mentality.
The first internal conflict discussed is all about realizing you love fashion, but you also care about the environment. Despite your love for fashion it bothers you the damage that this industry does to the environment, and how it makes climate change worse.
The conflict is deconstructed using a psychology perspective, and looking at some facts from the WHO organisation. The psychology discussed is about the role fashion plays in our lives, and how our personal values guide our purchasing decisions.
