I recently opened up my own law practice at 17th and Snyder in the heart of South Philly. This podcast series will cover various aspects of the legal profession. Season 1 is called “Law School Reunion”. I attended one of the most diverse law schools in the nation. My classmates came from all over the country, from a variety of backgrounds, and from different stations in their professional lives. I will be reuniting with them to talk about their journey. Marla Samora, Esquire, a seasoned expert in Immigration Lawdiscusses the different paths to residency in the United States. She also explains the “90 Day Fiancé Fallacy”,and her proposed solutions to the problems in Immigration Law.
Nicholas Palazzo, a Partner at The Defino Law Associates, P.C. takes us into the realm of Personal Injury Law. Nick debunks certain “myths” about his area of practice and explains why bigger isn’t always better when hiring a personal injury lawyer. He also gives some practical tips for how to live your life in a prudent manner.
We are back with Season 2 of the Solo in South Philly Podcast. Season 2 is called "I Need a Lawyer". I will be speaking to lawyers that I reach out to when I need information or advice. Manisha was teased as a child for looking different than her peers. This sent her on a lifelong crusade to fight for fairness and equality. She eventually decided that law school would be the best path for her. Manisha talks about the California Bar, criminal law and justice in Los Angeles, what makes a good DA, the OJ trial, and much more.
Nikki left a great career as a paralegal in Austin, Texas and moved to Michigan to attend law school. Nikki was a student, but also a mother, and a fitness enthusiast. She managed to achieve all her goals, graduate early, and return to Texas as an attorney. Nikki shares her journey, talks about the support she received from friends and family, and development of her protégé and fellow Coooley Grad, Meagan Jones into partner of her firm.
Jessa graduated from college early and came into law school at 21 years of age with only academic experience. She graduated from Thomas Cooley Law School, moved jurisdictions a couple of times, took a couple of bars, and ultimately found a happy professional home in Estate Planning. She was recently named a "Super Lawyer" in the state of Ohio. Jessa shares her professional journey with us.

Michael Jean* grew up outside of Detroit, Michigan unsure of where he would end up in life. Through some hard lessons and guidance, he managed to graduate from law school, pass the bar, and move his way up within the National Rifle Association “NRA”. Michael talks about his involvement in NY Pistol v. Bruen, his constitutional philosophies, and the Second Amendment.

Jay K. Nair is from Chicago and spent his college days in sunny Southern California. Following law school, he randomly found himself at a crossroads in New Mexico, just like Bugs Bunny. Jay decided to open his own practice and traversed the state "Lincoln Lawyer" style handling criminal defense matters. Jay shares his journey with us and tells us what it is really like to work in Saul Goodman's line of work in Albuquerque.
Christian got off to a rough start in life and was headed down the wrong path. Fortunately, he met a great mentor, took advantage of a couple of breaks, and since then has used education to open up doors for him.
Right now, Cheyne is a highly accomplished civil litigation attorney who focuses on labor and employment law. However, this did not happen overnight. Cheyne tells us about her decade-long transformation from a Michigan State Spartan having a little too much fun in undergrad, to making partner and arguing in front of the New Jersey Supreme Court.
