In today's episode, we delve into the pervasive issue of cherry-picking in the fitness industry, a phenomenon where only the most favorable or convenient information is shared, often leaving out crucial context and facts.

"Cherry Picking" brings to light the misleading practices that can skew perceptions and decisions regarding fitness, nutrition, and overall well-being.

Cherry Picking is rampant in the fitness industry and it is more common than you might think. We see it in documentaries, op-ed pieces, case studies, and especially on social media where false information is spread incredibly fast.

So what information, and which sources, can we trust?

This episode is packed with advice on how to critically evaluate fitness information, discern credible sources, and approach your fitness journey with a balanced, well-informed perspective.

We emphasize the importance of looking beyond the surface and encourage our listeners to seek out the full spectrum of information before making health and fitness decisions

In today's episode we are celebrating Earth Month by discussing the dangers of keepin' it fresh.

And by keeping it fresh, we mean all of the products that we use on our skin, hair, face, bodies, spray in the air, the furniture we buy, the scented garbage bags we use, and the products that we clean with too.

Do you think about the ingredients in the things that you buy and use? And how much responsibility should be on us as consumers versus the policies and regulations within the industries that are creating and selling these "fast" and "safe" products to consumers all over the world?

We get into it, and we hope it's very titillating for you...

Equinox might not speak January, but we sure do!

As two coaches who previously worked for Equinox at multiple locations, we felt like it was our responsibility to respond to the marketing campaign that Equinox started sharing January 1st.

You may have seen it, especially because it is receiving a lot of negative feedback. And that is because it supports a very negative mindset.

If the heart of your marketing campaign is based on shaming people for starting something or for being a beginner, does it really have any heart at all? Especially when the gym is already an intimidating space for a lot of people.

So what do you think about the campaign? Is it simply a well intentioned - yet poorly executed and misunderstood - marketing campaign? Or is it perfectly understood, and elitism is what they are advertising?

We believe that when it comes to the fitness and health community, as coaches and leaders, we have to create an environment that is a safe space for all people; people who are beginners, who are returning to health, who are striving to better themselves. And that might start on January 1st.
