Artificial intelligence is transforming the way we work, lead, and make decisions. But as organizations rush to adopt new technologies, one critical question remains: How do we maintain trust while embracing AI?

In this episode, I sit down with leadership and culture expert Lahari Jones to explore how organizations can successfully integrate AI without losing the human connection that drives engagement, innovation, and performance.

Lahari shares practical insights on creating a people-first AI strategy, helping leaders navigate employee concerns, establish accountability, and build trust during times of rapid change. If you're a leader, HR professional, or anyone curious about the future of work, this conversation offers valuable guidance on balancing technology and humanity.

Key Takeaways:

Ever feel like confidence is just out of reach? You’re not alone. In fact, after more than six years of coaching leaders, entrepreneurs, and executives, “confidence” is the number one topic that comes up in my coaching conversations. No matter your industry or level of success, self-doubt can show up in powerful ways.

For some, confidence means picking up the phone and making a sales call. For others, it looks like speaking up in meetings, presenting to a board, asking for a promotion, or navigating difficult conversations. While confidence may look different for everyone, the struggle is incredibly common.

In this episode, I break down why confidence often feels so hard to access and how you can start building it in a way that feels authentic to you. I share practical strategies to help you identify where you feel most uncertain, recognize the stories you may be telling yourself, and shift your mindset so you can show up with more clarity, influence, and presence.

You’ll learn how defining confidence for yourself can help you create real momentum, why even the most successful professionals still experience doubt, and what it takes to rewrite the narratives that are holding you back.

If you’re ready to stop letting fear make your decisions and start showing up more confidently in your career and life, this episode is for you.

Are you just showing up to events or actually making connections?

Too often, networking events, conferences, and even speaking engagements become a blur of surface-level conversations and exchanged business cards that go nowhere. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

In this episode, we’re breaking down how to shift from passive attendance to intentional connection so you can walk away from every event with meaningful relationships, not just a stack of contacts.

Today's conversation dives into what separates those who just attend from those who truly engage, and how a few simple mindset shifts can completely change your experience (and results).

Join me as I discuss these key takeaways:
-Go in with intention
-Focus on connection, not collection
-Use your voice
-Engage, don’t wait
-Follow up thoughtful

It’s not about being in the room—it’s about how you show up in it.

The next time you attend an event, challenge yourself to be intentional, present, and engaged. That’s where real opportunity lives.

In honor of Women’s History Month, this episode is a candid reflection on leadership, authenticity, and the pressure many women feel to have everything perfectly together before showing up.

In this short but powerful episode, I’m showing up as your best friend, your coach, your cheerleader, and yes, your toughest critic when you need it most.

Wherever you are listening from, however you’re feeling right now, this message is for you.

You are enough, as you are, where you are, who you are.
Not someday. Not when you fix one more thing. Right now.

If you’re chasing meaning, value, peace, purpose, or deeper relationships… you’re really chasing you. And while you might be doubting yourself, second-guessing your moves, or quietly shrinking, others are watching you and thinking, “Wow… look at what they’re doing.”

You bring something to your life and your work that no one else can. The world does not need a watered-down version of you. It needs your bold, authentic, fully alive self.

This is your reminder to trust yourself, speak life over yourself, and step outside the box you were never meant to live in.

You were made for more; now it’s time to believe it.

In this mini pre-holiday episode, I invite you to pause, take a breath, and reflect. As you prepare to enjoy some time off and gear up for the new year, this is the perfect moment to look back on your year through a different lens: the lens of good.

Instead of focusing on the unplanned, the unexpected, or the hard moments we all inevitably face, I encourage you to shift your perspective and intentionally look for the good. There is so much good woven throughout even the toughest seasons, and this episode reminds you to notice it, honor it, and celebrate it.

I hope this episode inspires you to seek out the good that’s been present all along, even in the middle of challenges. There is always something worth celebrating.

I’m so excited for the new year ahead and encourage you to carry this practice of gratitude into the season to come.

In this episode, I explore one of the most transformative qualities we can cultivate: humility. Not the kind that weakens us, but the kind that grounds us, shapes us, and quietly strengthens our leadership, our relationships, and our sense of self.

I’m diving into what it truly means to be humbled by life, often at the exact moment we didn’t know we needed it. These unexpected lessons have a way of stripping away the noise and forcing us to refocus on what actually matters at the core of who we are and what we do.

Whether you are navigating leadership, building a business, or deepening your personal relationships, this conversation invites you to grow from a place of humility while standing confidently in who you are.

Tune in and reflect on where life may be humbling you and how those moments might be offering exactly the lesson you did not ask for, but absolutely needed.

In today’s episode, we’re going deep. Deep into identity, self-trust, and what it really means to know who you are beyond the roles you play and the accomplishments you've earned.

So often, we define ourselves by external markers such as our title, our work, our achievements, our team, our business. But what happens when those things change? What happens when you lose a job, shift careers, or face a major life transition? For many people, their sense of identity crumbles because it was built on things outside their control.

This conversation invites you to strip all of that away. Every accolade, every achievement, every role. Explore who you are at your core. Because when you are grounded in that version of yourself, you won’t fall apart when circumstances shift. You stay steady. You stay you.

This episode is an invitation to slow down, get quiet, and reconnect with the person underneath all the layers.
What do you love?
What lights you up?
What inspires you?
And when you start doubting yourself, what brings you back home?

If you’re going through a major change, or if you’re questioning your identity in any way… now is the time to reflect on who you really are.

In today’s episode, we dive into the truth about competitive advantage - what really sets you apart in your professional journey. So many of us fall into the trap of trying to replicate someone else’s path, believing that if we just follow their steps, mimic their strategies, or become more like the people we admire, we’ll find the same success. But that’s not how it works.

We often forget the messy, imperfect, behind-the-scenes journey those people went through to get where they are. You cannot copy and paste someone else’s path and expect identical results. What you can do is look for success clues: grit, tenacity, authenticity, confidence, resilience. But the true differentiator, the real competitive advantage, is much simpler:

Your competitive advantage is YOU.

Your story.
Your message.
Your brand.
Your energy.
Your skills.
Your voice.
Your presence.
The way you work with people.
The way you make people feel.

When you fully show up as yourself, with conviction, confidence, and authenticity, nothing can stop you. You’ll figure out what works for you, because you’re the one who will always be there for the entire journey. You can’t outrun yourself, so you might as well anchor deeply into who you truly are.

In this episode, we talk about how to uncover and own your unique “thing- the quality, point of view, or way of showing up that sets you apart from everyone else. If you want to stand out, you can’t look or sound like everyone else.

Your challenge this week is to dig deeper into yourself. Anchor into your story, your strengths, your message, and your personal brand. Discover the part of you that is uniquely yours and let that be the advantage you lead with.

Today we’re diving into a topic most people really don’t like to talk about… failure.

If you’re someone who prides yourself on excellence, performance, and doing things “right,” the idea of failing might make you cringe. I get it, it used to be one of my biggest fears too. In this episode, I share a story about my son's trunk-or-treat event, and how it brought back a high school pottery class memory and a moment where I walked away instead of allowing myself to learn through imperfection.

We’ll explore why your fear of making a mistake may be the very thing holding you back from becoming who you're meant to be… and why failure isn’t the opposite of success- it’s part of it.

In this episode, we’ll talk about:
-How fear of failure keeps us stuck
-Why perfectionism will stop your growth in business & leadership
-Practical ways to build resilience and your relationship with failure

What can you FAIL at this week? Choose something intentionally that you know you won't get perfect and do it anyway. Let yourself feel the discomfort and notice the growth that follows.

Tag me with your ‘fail of the week’- I’d love to celebrate it with you!

Fresh from the NHRMA Conference in Alaska, I’m sharing my session on how to close the leadership skills gap and build a resilient workforce prepared for the future of work.

We can get so caught up in the day to day that we forget to zoom out and look at the bigger picture-what’s working, what’s not, and how to show a real return on investment in our people. In this episode, I break down how to align leadership development and talent initiatives with your organization’s business goals so you can create measurable impact.

You’ll learn:
-Why many organizations are struggling with retention, engagement, and performance and how leadership gaps are often the root cause
-The difference between promoting high performers versus developing true leaders
-What the data shows about the ROI of leadership training
-Why one-off trainings and “check the box” programs are costing organizations more than they realize
-How to take a transformational approach to developing leaders that’s future focused and measurable

It’s time to shift from transactional leadership to transformational leadership and embed development into your culture every day. The organizations that invest in building strong, future-ready leaders are the ones that will thrive.

It’s been one year since I had surgeries for melanoma that was on my face and this episode is a personal reflection on the past year. I’m sharing what this experience has taught me about control, perspective, community, and grace through life’s hardest seasons.

If you’re in a tough season right now, I hope these lessons remind you that you’re not alone, that you have more strength than you realize, and that this season , as hard as it feels, won’t last forever.

In this episode, I talk about:

  • Learning to release control and anchor into what you can control- your perspective, your attitude, and your response.
  • The power of community and allowing yourself to receive support when you need it most.
  • Remembering that everyone goes through tough seasons and how that reminder helped me find compassion and perspective.
  • Giving yourself permission to simply be in it. There’s no “right” way to handle hard seasons.
  • Why prioritizing your health and well-being matters more than anything else because nothing else matters if you’re not here.

If you’re walking through something hard right now, know that it’s okay to not have it all together. You’re doing your best. This is just one season, and there’s another one coming.

In this episode, I’m sharing insights and reflections from my recent trip to Alaska, a place full of beauty, adventure, and unexpected lessons. Too often, we get caught up in chasing the destination-the goal, the result, the achievement- and forget to enjoy the experiences along the way.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • Why focusing only on the end goal can rob you of joy and fulfillment.
  • How to find meaning and fun in the journey, even when things don’t go as planned.
  • The importance of presence, reflection, and letting go of control.
  • Lessons from Alaska that can apply to your work, leadership, and personal life.

This is your reminder to slow down, find gratitude in the process, and recognize that growth happens along the way.

We often hear conversations about performance-how we measure it, improve it, and recognize it. But is performance really enough to carry us forward? In this episode, I dive into the powerful distinction between performance and potential, and why just talking about performance isn’t going to cut it anymore.

Performance is measurable, observable, and rooted in the past and present. It tells us what was and what is. While performance is important, focusing only on it can keep us stuck in the box of yesterday’s results. High performers don’t always translate into high potential, and that’s where we need to shift our thinking.

Potential, on the other hand, is all about what’s possible. It’s the “what could be” if we create the right environment, opportunities, and support. It’s about cultivating resilience, agility, and emotional intelligence. Research shows that only 20% of people are truly reaching their potential-so what would it take to unlock that possibility for yourself and others?

In this conversation, we’ll explore:

  • Why performance is not the best predictor of potential
  • How to think beyond what “was” and “is” and step into what “could be”
  • The role of fear, resilience, and challenge in unlocking your next level
  • How to “think like there is no box” and create the conditions for growth

Potential is possibility waiting to be activated. Don’t let fear or past results keep you stuck.

On today’s episode, I’m joined by Lu Ann Cahn, an 8-time Emmy Award–winning journalist, author, and speaker. Lu Ann is the author of I Dare Me, a book inspired by her year-long journey of doing one new thing every single day to get her life unstuck.

Lu Ann has lived a remarkable career in investigative journalism, telling powerful stories across the globe. But despite her many accomplishments, she found herself feeling stuck, wrestling with major life changes, technology shifts in her industry, and personal battles with both breast and kidney cancer. Out of that season came a transformative experiment: to say yes to new experiences, big and small.

In this episode, we dive into:

  • The “Power of Do the New” – why trying something new, even simple things, can spark joy, resilience, and courage.
  • Her journey from stuck to unstoppable – how saying yes to daily new experiences led to her book deal, new career opportunities, and renewed purpose.
  • Simple ways to start – from walking your dog backwards to planting an herb garden, how small experiments can change your mindset.
  • The ripple effect – stories of people who were inspired by Lu Ann’s journey and how it shaped their own resilience and ability to embrace change.
  • Leading by example – why daring ourselves to do new things makes us stronger leaders, more open communicators, and more resilient human beings.

Lu Ann reminds us that trying something new doesn’t have to take hours of your day; it can be as small as five minutes, but it has the power to shift your energy, your mindset, and even your future.

There is so much power in simply being the person who shows up. In this episode, I’m talking about what happens when you say yes to the unexpected and go the extra mile for the people in your life.

I share a recent experience where, despite every logical reason not to, I felt a strong gut pull to show up for my clients at a leadership event. That decision meant rearranging my schedule, renting a car, and driving seven hours, but it was absolutely worth it. I finally got to meet my clients in person, support them in the room, and walk away with powerful reminders of why presence matters.

We often underestimate how much impact we can have just by showing up, for our clients, our friends, our family, and even ourselves. In busy seasons, it’s easy to retreat inward and focus only on our own world. But going the extra mile, whether in a big way or through small, unexpected gestures, can deeply nurture relationships and create lasting impact.

I’ll also challenge you to reflect:

  • Where in your life do you have an opportunity to show up in a meaningful way?
  • What unexpected “yes” might shift everything for someone else?
  • How can you embrace support when you need it, and then pay it forward in micro-moments?

Your presence matters more than you realize. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply show up.

We’re going deep in today’s episode with a powerful concept that has shifted how I think about performance, potential, and why we sometimes fall short of the goals we say we want.

Let me ask you, what’s your thermostat set at?

And no, I don’t mean the temperature in your room. I’m talking about your internal thermostat, the one that controls your success, your happiness, and your ability to achieve what you’re truly capable of. Inspired by thought leader Ed Mylett, we’re unpacking how your internal set point could be the very thing holding you back, or propelling you forward.

Here’s what we dive into:

-Why your identity and beliefs are like a thermostat setting for your success
-How your inner critic acts as a regulator for your happiness and achievements
-The real reason why 80% of people never reach their peak performance
-What I discovered about myself during my IPEC Coaching training
-The sneaky way self-sabotage keeps you in your “comfort zone”
-Why can’t you just stack on other people’s strategies without doing this inner work
- What it takes to raise your internal thermostat and expand what you believe is possible

If you’re feeling stuck or like you’re just “coasting,” this episode will help you uncover what’s really getting in the way and how to make real, sustainable shifts toward the level of success and fulfillment you know you’re capable of.

On today’s episode, we’re diving into reflection for the year ahead-focusing on what we need to let go of in order to make space for our goals. Time moves fast, and it’s easy to lose track of whether we’ve made progress on all the things we want to achieve. But this year, we’re getting intentional about sticking to the things that truly matter.

We’re all creatures of habit, so stepping into new ones can feel hard, but we’ve got to do it if we want to make progress. It’s going to take some tough decisions, tough conversations, and maybe even a little heartache. But it’ll be worth it to level up.

I’m challenging you to ask yourself “what do I need to let go of” and reflect on how you can prioritize your goals. It’s all about making room for what’s important and not letting your old habits stand in the way of your success.

But in this episode, we’re talking about how to stop from moving in, allowing yourself to feel all the feels, and then move on.

Today we’re discussing how there is no ‘right way’ to do anything! As a self-proclaimed recovering perfectionist, I have struggled with this and often see clients struggle with this as well.

Most of the ‘rules’ you are playing by, are made up by you of what you think you are or aren’t supposed to do. But this is only holding you back!

When you RELEASE this story you’re telling yourself, this need to have it all ‘right’ or ‘perfect’ or to follow the ‘rules’...you become FREE!

Free to be, do, and create, and THAT is when things really start to happen.

Message me and let me know what you would do if you didn’t have to do it just ‘right’!

As a certified speaking, executive and high performance coach, one of the assessments I love doing is an energy leadership assessment. You may be more familiar with personality assessments such as DISC or Myers-Briggs, which are different from energy leadership because this is an attitudinal assessment. Energy leadership provides information on your attitude and how you show up when things are going well, and when you're faced with challenges.

In energy leadership terms, the level where you continue to tolerate what's going on in your work and life is Level 3. But do you want to be there? Do you want to continue saying things are "fine" and rationalize your actions while you continue to push aside your goals? It's a new year, so it's a great time to reflect and decide on what you're no longer willing to tolerate.

So, let's take action and do this! We'll talk about:• What happens when you keep pretending everything is fine
• Creating an "in/out" list for 2024 to help you set boundaries
• Opening yourself up to more so you can take yourself to the next level in 2024

Did this episode resonate with you? Send me a message to let me know if you want to learn more about energy leadership!

The new year is here, and I'm ready to take off! But before I got here, I took time to slow down and reflect during the holidays. And if you're still easing into 2024, that's totally okay. Take your time to look back so you can figure out what you want to leave behind in 2023, and how you want to show up going forward.

Reflecting is an important practice that will help you set your goals for the year ahead, so don't skip it! If you haven't done your year in review yet, hit the pause button and listen to Episode 51 before you continue with this one.

For those of you who have started to think about the year ahead, what you want to achieve, how you want to feel and who you want to be, listen up as I let you in on the powerful practice of choosing a 'Word of the Year'.

I'll reveal what my Word of the Year is, and tell you:
• How I picked my word for 2024
• When I started using a Word of the Year and how it ties into my goals
• Why it's ok to try on a few words before settling on the "right" one
• How my word influences my actions and decisions each and every day
• What identity has to do with your Word of the Year

Do you have a Word of the Year? How are you embodying the person who you want to be? Let me know - I'm only a message away!

Learn why:
• Why this is the right season for me to simplify and declutter
• How I'm decluttering my business AND my life

It's okay to not be okay!
Do you feel like you have to have it together all the time? Do you have a hard time appearing vulnerable?

If this sounds familiar, know that you're not alone. It's common with high achievers to try to put up a front and put pressure on themselves to show that they have it altogether.

But that's just BS!

Today I'm opening up about my struggle with showing people that I struggle too. As I transition through different stages of my life, I've had to uncover my mask each time to show what's really going on. And I talk about why you should too.

Tune in to listen in on why:
• Showing the real you doesn't make you weak or unsuccessful.
• Burying your experiences of struggle affects your health
• Unpacking, addressing and sharing your struggles helps you get to where you want to be

You don't have to have it together all the time - nobody does.

Did this idea resonate with you? Send me a message and let me know!

Ask yourself: what rooms do I need to be in to help me on my growth journey? And once I get there, what will I do?

We often have the instinct of either minimizing our successes or overcompensating and worrying that we are being "too much". Or we become caught up in comparing ourselves to others' successes and feeling less than. But the reality is, their successes don't take anything away from you.

Instead of reacting in a judgemental way to yourself or others when you're in a room of people who can help you grow, challenge and expand you, do these 3 things:
• Check your ego and be curious instead
• Be both confident and humble
• Put yourself into uncomfortable situations

So, what are you doing to get into rooms of people who are further along than you and who can help you grow? Are there networking groups, masterminds and other communities of people you can become part of? Share your ideas with me!

This week I'm welcoming my first guest on the podcast - my biggest cheerleader and supporter, Jake Menden. Also known as my amazing husband, Jake was the first between the two of us to pursue personal growth, and he's played a key part in why I went into business and why I have this podcast.

We discuss:

  • How we met 16 years ago and the changes and challenges in our relationship, careers and health we've overcome together
  • What got Jake into the self-awareness and personal development world
  • Reflections on the change and growth we observed in each other
  • Giving yourself permission to evolve as a person and how to communicate that to your partner without having to “dim down” your light
  • How you can support your partner and the people around you with their growth journeys
  • And more!

I hope this helps open up a conversation for the people in your life too.

My husband and I recently started taking ice baths every morning. Are we motivated to step into the cold everyday? No, not really, but doing so requires mental toughness and helps us consistently strengthen that muscle. Knowing that we were able to work through the discomfort at the start of each day translates to mental toughness to get through challenges in business and other parts of our lives too.

Ice baths may not be for you (and I highly recommend seeing a physician before embarking on this practice), but is there something else you could be doing to build up your mental toughness?

Listen in as I talk about:

  • Why you feel stuck and how mental fitness can unblock you
  • How showing up to a commitment - especially on the days you don't want to - rewires your brain
  • A simple and effective exercise to see the gift or opportunity in any situation

I also highly recommend these two books to help you build the right mindset for this work:
• Energy Leadership: The 7 Level Framework for Mastery In Life and Business by Bruce D. Scheider
• Positive Intelligence: Why Only 20% of Teams and Individuals Achieve Their True Potential and How You Can Achieve Yours by Shirzad Chamine

Reach out and let me know what you thought of this episode! And if you want to grow your business with impact, join my 5-day Speak Up, Stand Out Bootcamp March 20th-24th to build your mental toughness and become a more confident speaker! I'd love to see you there and help you take your business to the next level.

Do you have a habit that’s so rooted into your daily routine that you feel a little “off” if you don’t do it? That’s how I feel about my morning routine - it’s a daily habit that sets me up for success and the inspiration behind today’s episode.

Habits are systems that are the building blocks to success, helping you to achieve the results or goals that you’ve set for yourself. They help you focus on the here and now - small, consistent actions that add up to the big things. Habits build your mental fitness and discipline so you can keep moving towards your goals when motivation fails you.

Today we chat about:
• Tips for building better habits
• Tips to leave bad habits behind

To learn more, I recommend these three books on habits:
• High Performance Habits
• The Power of Habit
• Atomic Habits

It all starts with you: take stock of your good and bad habits, and create a plan to turn your bad habits into good ones!

Here’s a story about how trusting myself, understanding my why and trusting myself resulted in the achievement of a lifelong dream.
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve wanted to become a published author, and how I am! I’m a contributing author for the book Peak Performance: Mindset Tools for Leaders, available on Amazon now!

I’m not going to lie though, when I was asked to write a chapter alongside elite athletes, Ted Talk speakers and business leaders, I thought, why me? Imposter syndrome kicked in big time. What are people going to think when they see my name beside these accomplished people?

I could have let that stop me. But I knew this was a hell yes moment for me. I trusted my gut, I knew my why and I knew that I could figure out.

Join me in this episode as I provide some key concepts from my chapter on how to change your thoughts so you can change your life and these steps for achieving your dreams:

  • Choose it
  • Learn it
  • Live it

Check out the book on Amazon and be sure to share and tag me to let me know what tools you’re using to change your life.

Beliefs create thoughts which influence your feelings and emotions. These in turn influence your actions and ultimately, your results. So if you’re not getting the results you desire, you’re likely boxing yourself in with limiting beliefs.

In this episode I’ll introduce you to a powerful neuro-linguistic programming tool called the Dickens process to help you reframe your beliefs.
You’ll learn to:

  • Examine your limiting beliefs to reveal what’s holding you back
  • Create “I am” statements to shed old beliefs and build new ones
  • Build up a business case for yourself

It might not be easy, but working consistently on your beliefs and how you see yourself is worth it, because it is truly life-changing. You are everything and anything you choose to be.
