How do you find a podcast editor for your business podcast? Well, hello there. My name is Stephanie Fuccio and I run a community of remote podcast editors called Global Podcast Editors. In this podcast, we're here to share simple, actionable tips that you can use to make your podcast sound better so that your listeners can turn into clients faster and with less fuss. And if you need to hire an editor, we're here to help with that too.
**Would you ever rebrand your podcast because it didn’t feel “bouncy” enough? K.O. Myers did and he’s here to share his experience with it. He originally had a tabletop role-playing game podcast, called "Role Factory." But he was dissatisfied with the lack of collaboration and engagement. So he changed the name and format. Now it’s "Adventure Capital" and the episodes are much more collaborative. Host Steph and Guest K.O. explore the importance of community among listeners, the potential of live recordings, and the ongoing process of tweaking and experimenting our podcast format to achieve the desired engagement level.

You've created a podcast to attract more of the right fit client for your small, passion led business, right?
This is why focusing on how many downloads alone for your podcast is not a productive way to assess podcast success. Downloads are the tip of the iceberg. I have a hunch that your call to action, downloads and business leads have a strong connection AND that when we reframe what success looks like for your solopreneur podcast, your KPIs will change too. Here's how and why it's different for your solopreneur podcast compared to other podcasts.

It’s normal to want to rush through a pause or silent moment in a conversation. And thus urgency to get to conversational gems is even stronger in a recording. But Rachel and I are here to reassure you that silence is really valuable and embracing it, allowing it and even encouraging it in your podcast episodes will build your brand loyalty.

What you’re creating is unique in the podcasting space. Your podcast is more business focused than a hobbyist independent podcast but it shares the heart of those projects. It also is not as salesy as the network or big corporate podcasts either, although it often shares a business topic and focuses. Neal and I dig into these differences some more in order to help figure out these nuances of what you’re creating.

The English language has a very rhythmic up-down, up-down flow to it but when we get nervous that natural melody gets disrupted. If you have guests on your entrepreneurial podcast, you’ve no doubt seen the kind of “I’m being recorded” nervous I’m talking about. There are some quick and good humaning ways you can soothe your guest into focusing on the conversation with you without making them so relaxed that they go completely off task.

So far this week we’ve talked about how some crosstalk might be engaging while others can be off-putting for your potential clients who are listening. The most sound enticing thing you can do is create a naturally flowing conversation. Selected, intentional crosstalk can help this happen. But you’ll need some planning and probably some post-production help as well. Here’s why.

Maybe it’s my upbringing but I LOVE when people talk rapidly and excitedly with each other. Not talk over to take over the conversation. I hate that. But when there’s a connection energy that comes out verbally. It’s so good. So, so good. Sam and I are here to explain why you want to keep these emotional gems in your branded podcast.

The past few days we’ve been talking about speakers using crutch words when we’ve got excess energy either from excitement or nerves. Today we’re going to talk about filler words in a different way. Thanks to Maya Chupkov of the Proud Stutter podcast I’ve been learning a lot about stuttering specifically and speech diversity as a whole. Here are a few minutes from an interview I did with her recently on the Global Podcast Editors YouTube channel.

Yesterday we talked about how to practice so that you could reduce the use of filler words but it felt like there was something missing. That something is the admittance that it’s excess energy that often makes us use these words. So it’s time to share some tips and tricks that you can do to embrace that energy surge and put it to good audio branding use!

There are speakers who can not remove repeated sounds like um, eh, err from their speech and we would never ask them to try. This conversation with Maya of Proud Stutter (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVssCAHM-tQ&t=3s) goes into the nuances of recording and editing in that context.
What we are covering today and tomorrow are the sounds we make when we’re nervous or thinking. These words can dilute your message and quite honestly turn off your listeners BEFORE they turn into clients. We don’t want that so we’re here to share some quick tips to lessen your crutch words over time.
