In this episode, we're talking all about Branching Out, starring Sarah Drew as an architect and single mom on a mission to help her young daughter connect with her roots. Through a surprising journey, they seek out her biological father, played by Juan Pablo di Pace—a musician who never knew he had a daughter. As they navigate the unexpected and emotional path to family, the story beautifully explores themes of identity, belonging, and the bonds that grow in unlikely places.
We’re split on this one! Some of us were moved by the heartwarming moments, while others had mixed feelings about the story’s direction. Tune in as we dive into the film’s memorable scenes, unexpected twists, and the ways it resonated with each of us.

This week on Love on the Pod, we continue our Schitt’s Creek rewatch with Season 1, Episodes 6 & 7 and the Rose family is slowly (very slowly) starting to show signs of growth… though they’re still delightfully out of touch with reality.
Moira takes a job at the town winery and attempts the impossible: being polite to Jocelyn. Alexis continues her romance with Ted (with very mixed levels of enthusiasm) and David finds himself on the town’s annual turkey hunt—which is exactly as chaotic as you’d expect.
We’re breaking down the funniest moments, the early character development we’re starting to see and why these episodes remind us that the Roses may be a mess, but they’re our mess.
Pour yourself a fruit wine and join us for the conversation. Until our next engagement.

Hope Morgan is ready for a fresh start as she sets out to fulfill her childhood dream of running a ranch in the picturesque town of Ruidoso, New Mexico, all while trying to revive the beloved Giddy Up Gala. This week on Love on the Pod, we’re talking about Romance at Hope Ranch starring Alison Sweeney and Gabriel Hogan… and unfortunately, this one did not win us over.
Join us as we dig into the movie’s missed opportunities, flat moments and why this story never quite came together for us the way we hoped it would. Between the ranch setting, the small-town charm and the promise of a meaningful new chapter, this movie had all the ingredients for something special..but for us, the execution just wasn’t there.
We’re sharing what didn’t work, what frustrated us and whether there was anything at all that managed to save the ride. Saddle up for an honest, probably slightly snarky, conversation about a movie we really wanted to like.

This week on Love on the Pod, we continue our Schitt’s Creek rewatch with Season 1, Episodes 4 & 5 and the Roses are still very much adjusting to life without private jets and personal assistants.
Johnny tries to revive his business instincts, Moira struggles with the realities of small-town living (and small-town wardrobes), Alexis begins navigating romance in a place where everyone knows your business and David continues his ongoing quest to survive rural life with his dignity intact.
We break down the funniest moments, the subtle character growth starting to peek through and why these early episodes remind us just how far the Rose family still has to go.
Plus, we share our favorite lines, Rose family observations and a few thoughts on the slow but satisfying evolution that makes Schitt’s Creek so beloved.

This week on Love on the Pod, we set sail with Reel One Entertainment’s Love Afloat starring Alanna J. Smith and Travis Bravo-Thomas… and let’s just say the romance did not stay afloat. When Lorelei inherits a rundown sailboat and hires Rob to help her sail it from a Caribbean island to Miami, sparks are supposed to fly...but for us, the movie mostly drifted aimlessly out to sea.
Join us as we break down the questionable plot choices, the chaotic sailing logic, the chemistry (or lack thereof) and the moments that had us asking, “Wait… why is this happening?” Was there anything worth saving in this nautical romance or should this one have stayed docked? Grab a life jacket and come laugh with us as we lovingly roast Love Afloat.

This week on Love on the Pod, we’re continuing our trip to Schitt’s Creek with Episodes 2 and 3: “The Drip” and “Don’t Worry, It’s His Sister.” The Roses are settling into motel life… and by settling, we mean spiraling in the most hilarious, slightly unhinged ways possible.
We’re talking leaking ceilings, small-town misunderstandings, unexpected sibling dynamics and the early moments that show these over-the-top characters might actually have hearts of gold. Plus, we’re sharing our favorite quotes, cringiest scenes and the subtle hints of growth that make this comfort show so special.

We’re chatting first impressions, iconic one-liners and the tiny character moments that hint at the heart this series is about to deliver. From Moira’s dramatic vocabulary to David’s sweaters and Alexis’s… well, everything, we’re breaking down what makes this chaotic beginning so lovable and why this show became such a comfort classic.

This week on Love on the Pod, we’re heading deep into the jungle (emotionally and geographically) to discuss Love on the Amazon, starring Jaicy Elliot and Rafael de la Fuente.
We talk about what happens when purpose, passion and romance collide in one of Hallmark’s most visually lush settings...and whether the movie delivers on both the love story and the larger message. From conservation themes to cultural respect to the slow-burn chemistry between our leads, we unpack what makes this one stand out (and where it plays things safely).
In this episode, we dive into:
We also discuss how Love on the Amazon fits into Hallmark’s growing lineup of location-forward romances and whether the heart of the story feels earned once the credits roll.

This week on Love on the Pod, we’re diving into The Christmas Baby, starring Ali Liebert and Katherine Barrell — a Hallmark holiday mystery that asks the very important question: what if your entire life pivoted because of a baby at Christmas?
We unpack the twists, the small-town vibes, the slightly chaotic timelines and the emotional weight this movie carries while still wrapping everything up in a cozy Hallmark bow. From Ali Liebert doing what she does best (grounded, heartfelt and quietly compelling) to Katherine Barrell bringing warmth and intrigue, we talk through what worked, what confused us and what moments actually surprised us.
We also dig into the themes of chosen family, identity and how the past has a way of showing up right when you think you’ve moved on — plus whether this one leans more holiday comfort watch or light Christmas mystery with feelings.

This week on Love on the Pod, we’re diving into Have We Met This Christmas, the Great American Family holiday romance starring Danica McKellar and Jesse Hutch. Equal parts cozy, convenient amnesia and emotionally loaded Christmas timing, this movie gives us plenty to unpack.
Danica McKellar stars as Katie, a driven real estate executive who wakes up at a mountain inn after a car accident with no memory of who she is — or why she once swore she’d never speak to innkeeper Emmett again. Enter Jesse Hutch, playing the charming, steady, emotionally mature male lead we all secretly want stranded with us at Christmas. As Katie settles into life at the inn, surrounded by holiday traditions and a warm, close-knit family, she begins to fall for Emmett all over again… unaware that she’s actually the one responsible for the looming sale that could cost the family everything.
We talk about how this movie leans hard into the amnesia trope and whether it uses it thoughtfully or conveniently, the ethics of letting someone fall in love with you while they don’t remember your complicated past, and why mountain inns continue to be the most emotionally healing real estate in the Hallmark-adjacent universe. We also discuss the themes of second chances, identity, ambition versus belonging and whether love can actually be truer the second time around — especially when memories are missing but feelings aren’t.
Plus, we get into Jesse Hutch’s quietly effective performance, Danica McKellar’s comfort-movie credibility, and why this one feels like a very specific Great American Family flavor of Christmas storytelling. Is it predictable? Sure. Did we still have feelings about it? Absolutely.
Pour yourself something cozy, settle in, and join us as we ask the most important question of all: if you forgot everything about your life, would Christmas help you find your way back to the right one?

The journey to finding Mr. Christmas comes to an end as we break down the season two finale of Finding Mr. Christmas. With only three finalists left — Rustin, Craig and Angel — the pressure is fully on as the men face their final challenge: a three-part acting scene opposite the queen of Hallmark herself, Erin Krakow. Adding an extra layer of charm (and nerves) to the moment, Kristoffer Polaha joins as a special guest, offering guidance, insight and that unmistakable leading-man energy.
We dig into how each finalist approached the scene, what worked, what surprised us and where we could practically see the Hallmark contract being written in real time. From emotional beats to romantic chemistry to who truly embodied the spirit of a future Hallmark leading man, we unpack it all — including our honest reactions to the judges’ feedback and the overall arc of the season.
In the end, Craig is crowned the winner of season two, and we talk through why his performance sealed the deal, how his journey unfolded over the course of the competition and what we hope to see next for him in the Hallmark universe. Plus, we reflect on what this season did right, where it stumbled and why Finding Mr. Christmas continues to be such a fascinating love letter to made-for-TV movie fans.
Grab your hot cocoa, settle in and join us as we say goodbye to another festive season — and hello to the next potential Hallmark heartthrob.

In this episode of Love on the Pod, we dive into A Grand Ole Opry Christmas, starring Nikki DeLoach and Kristoffer Polaha, and unpack the deeply emotional themes that set this movie apart from a standard holiday romance. We talk about how the film centers on the longing to revisit moments with loved ones who are gone, and the quiet ache of wondering why they made the choices they did while they were still here. The story’s time-bending elements allow the characters, and the audience, to sit with grief, curiosity and compassion, offering a rare Hallmark exploration of reflection, regret and understanding rather than simple wish fulfillment.
We also explore the slow-burn romance between two people who have known each other forever, and what it means to find love later in life with someone whose history is already woven into your own. Their connection isn’t about sparks or grand gestures, but about safety, shared memories and finally seeing each other clearly after years of parallel lives. We discuss how the Grand Ole Opry serves as a meaningful emotional anchor tied to family legacy and unfinished conversations, and why this movie resonates so strongly for viewers navigating loss, second chances and the idea that it’s never too late for love, healing or answers at Christmastime.

In this episode of Love on the Pod, we’re unpacking Finding Mr. Christmas Season 2, Episode 7, an installment that leans fully into heart, vulnerability and what it really means to connect emotionally on screen. The episode opens with the remaining contestants writing Hallmark cards to their moms, a deceptively simple task that quickly becomes a window into each man’s emotional depth, self-awareness and ability to communicate sincerity without sounding scripted. We talk through which messages felt authentic, which ones played it safe and how this challenge subtly reveals who understands the emotional language Hallmark audiences respond to most.
Just when the emotions are already running high, the contestants are surprised by their moms, leading to some of the most genuine and touching moments of the season. We discuss the impact of seeing these relationships up close, how the men react in unscripted moments and what these reunions reveal about their character. This segment shifts the tone of the competition entirely, reminding us that being a convincing romantic lead often starts with emotional openness rather than perfect delivery.
The episode closes with a powerful acting challenge opposite Sharon Lawrence, as the men portray a son visiting his mother at Christmas after the recent death of his father. This scene requires restraint, vulnerability and emotional truth, and we break down which performances felt grounded and deeply affecting versus which struggled to balance grief with warmth. Acting across from Sharon Lawrence raises the bar in a significant way, and we discuss how this final challenge clarifies who can carry a heartfelt Hallmark story rooted in loss, healing and connection. Episode 7 stands out as one of the most emotionally resonant chapters of the season, giving us a clearer picture of who truly has what it takes to be Finding Mr. Christmas.

In this episode of Love on the Pod, we’re diving into Finding Mr. Christmas Season 2, Episode 6, where the competition cranks up both the chaos and the chemistry. The guys face off in a hilariously festive, holiday-themed booby trapped obstacle course that feels equal parts Christmas morning and slapstick survival challenge. From unexpected obstacles to pressure-filled moments, this challenge tests not just physical stamina, but composure, adaptability and the ability to keep your holiday spirit intact when things go very wrong very fast.
Then it’s time for romance as the remaining men step into a scene opposite Ashley Williams, and this is where the episode truly shines. Acting across from a Hallmark favorite raises the stakes in a completely different way, and we talk through which performances felt natural, emotionally grounded and genuinely swoony versus which ones leaned a little too hard into nerves. Ashley’s warmth and professionalism bring out surprising layers in some of the contestants, and we discuss how this challenge clarifies who can realistically carry a Hallmark love story.
As always, we share our hot takes, standout moments and growing predictions as the field narrows and the pressure mounts. Whether you’re watching for the romance, the ridiculous challenges, or the fantasy casting possibilities, this episode gives us plenty to talk about.

In this week’s episode, we’re diving into the festive chaos of Netflix’s new holiday film Merry Little Ex-Mas, starring Alicia Silverstone and Oliver Hudson. What starts as a well-intentioned attempt to recreate the magic of Christmases past quickly unravels when a long-separated couple tries to navigate the holidays under one roof—along with the husband’s very present new girlfriend. The result is a cozy, comedic, slightly chaotic story about old patterns, new boundaries and what happens when Christmas nostalgia meets very real emotional baggage.
We break down the performances, the chemistry and the moments that made us gasp, laugh and yell at the screen in true Love on the Pod fashion. From complicated co-parenting to unexpected holiday romance, we explore why this movie works, where it surprises and how its themes land in real life. Pour a cup of something warm, settle in and join us as we unpack all the mistletoe-level tension and second-chance sweetness that Merry Little Ex-Mas brings to the season.

This week on Love on the Pod, we’re recapping Season 2, Episode 5 of Finding Mr. Christmas, and the competition has officially entered its unhinged holiday era. The Festive Faceoff sends the men barreling across the lawn inside giant inflatable balls, knocking over Christmas trees with the kind of chaotic enthusiasm usually reserved for mall Santas on Black Friday. It’s physical comedy at its finest, and somehow also the perfect metaphor for what happens when romance, rivalry and holiday spirit collide.
For the Star Challenge, the men split into two groups of three to perform an acting scene with Hunter King, who plays a girlfriend caught between her boyfriend and her two tough to impress brothers. We dig into each trio’s chemistry, commitment and ability to balance sincerity with Hallmark-level charm. From unexpected standouts to moments that left us shouting at the TV, we explore what these performances reveal about the remaining contestants, how they’re handling the pressure and what this means as we inch closer to the finale. Grab a cozy drink and settle in—this episode gives us plenty to unwrap.

On this episode of Love on the Pod, we’re digging into Season 2, Episode 4 of Finding Mr. Christmas, where the competition for a coveted Hallmark movie role tightens and the pressure finally starts to show. We break down the strongest performances, the moments that made us yell at the screen, and the scenes that felt ripped straight from a behind-the-scenes special. This week on Love on the Pod, we’re boarding a festive river cruise down the Danube and unpacking all the family feels in A Keller Christmas Vacation starring Jonathan Bennett, Eden Sher and Brandon Routh. This one isn’t just twinkle lights and gingerbread vibes—it's a heartfelt story about parents gathering their three adult children for a Christmas vacation before sharing news that will change all their lives.
We dig into the dynamic between the siblings, the way the movie balances genuine emotion with classic holiday coziness and how the backdrop of a European Christmas cruise adds the perfect blend of wonder and wanderlust. Jonathan Bennett brings charm and warmth to a role that manages to be funny and grounded all at once, especially as the family navigates old tensions, new understandings and the reality of their dad’s Parkinson’s diagnosis.
We talk about the emotional beats that really land, the moments of unexpected levity and the scenes that make you want to book your own Christmas cruise immediately. And of course, we share our thoughts on how the movie handles a sensitive storyline with grace while still delivering that comforting holiday-movie glow.
Settle in with something warm as we break down the character arcs, the family revelations, the romance woven into the journey and why this movie earns its place in the holiday lineup.

This week, we’re serving up a rad bonus episode as Jessica and Sherri sit down with the charming and hilarious Clayton James, star of As Gouda As It Gets, Don't Forget I Love You and When Calls the Heart.
