Happy Independence Day.

Today, as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, we must not lose sight of the values our forefathers dedicated their lives to secure. Without morality, we cannot have freedom.

There is a growing battle for the hearts and minds of the next generation and for the future of our country. And this is not a political battle; it’s a spiritual battle.

We need the moral courage to live as men and women of faith who will not shrink back in this critical moment, but confront the lies and ideas that undermine truth with boldness and love, regardless of our circumstances or the challenges before us.

We must speak the truth with love, live out our faith, and contend for the well-being of our neighbors even when it’s unpopular, because doing what’s popular is political, but doing what’s right is Biblical.

“Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8

God chose to put us here, to be in this time and in this place, to be a light for Him. And while we don’t get to choose the times we live in, we do get to choose what we do with the time that has been given to us.

So choose faith. Choose hope. And choose to live courageously for Christ, because if we are passive and silent, we may live in an America where the Fourth of July isn’t a celebration, but a memorial for the rights, freedoms, and values we used to hold.

Pray for America today. Pray that our country would be a nation where God is honored and freedom flourishes, and let’s be a people filled with the hope of the gospel—because our country cannot be saved by a political party, but only by a people who never forget that blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.

ARE YOU PART OF OUR NETWORK?Subscribe to our email network to receive prayer and policy reports and occasional Action Alerts.Text subscribers will receive our most urgent prayer requests when critical votes are being taken at the State Capitol, when our team members are testifying before committee hearings, and when we need people to take action and contact their elected representatives.CLICK HERE TO JOIN THE NETWORKThe post America 250: Courage for Today, Hope for Tomorrow appeared first on Nebraska Family Alliance.

In grief, we find strength. We recommit ourselves to protecting the rights given by God and secured by the Constitution.

This Constitution Day, we are reminded that freedom is never free. The horrific act of violence that took the life of Charlie Kirk has shaken our country, but also ignited a wave of renewed determination and a call to faith. Charlie’s legacy challenges all of us to take up the torch and press forward with boldness.

The world wants us to cower, grow weary, and remain silent. But as Americans and people of faith, we cannot and we will not. When our founders ratified the Constitution, they established a government of the people, by the people, and for the people—guaranteeing our inalienable rights to worship freely, speak boldly, and express our political convictions.

We won’t back down. This week, NFA has continued to speak at churches and events across our state, defending Biblical values and our most cherished freedoms, and we will keep showing up.

We invite you to stand with us in prayer. Together, we will seek God’s guidance and pray for restoration for America.

The work of forming a more perfect Union is never finished, and it is our duty to safeguard our liberties and pass them on to our children. On this Constitution Day, let us rise with resolve, act with courage, and shine the light of truth.

This afternoon, a Christian husband, father, and advocate was gunned down in broad daylight in front of a large crowd of students gathered to hear him speak. Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, a conservative grassroots organization, was murdered for his faith and conviction on American soil by a political assassin.

The shooting occurred on a college campus, which was once the public square of discourse and the free exchange of ideas. But today, we witnessed what happens when the hateful rhetoric of extremists sows division, demonization, and violence.

Early Americans traveled to our country in search of a place where they could freely worship and live out their faith without persecution. They established a framework to protect our most cherished freedoms. Today, those values are under attack. There is a battle for the hearts and minds of the next generation, and for the future of our country. This is not a political battle; it is a spiritual battle, and our nation is in desperate need of restoration that only God can provide.

We grieve this horrific act of violence. Please join Nebraska Family Alliance in praying for Charlie’s wife, his two young children, and his family. Pray for healing and a country united in Christ, courage, and commitment.

A MESSAGE FROM NFA:

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:35-37

The ads are everywhere. High-profile races have brought national attention—and spending—to Nebraska.

But where do the candidates on your ballot actually stand on the issues that matter most, like protecting human life, parental rights, and religious freedom?

While NFA does not endorse candidates, we surveyed and researched their positions on important issues, so you can see where the candidates running to represent you stand on the issues in a side-by-side comparison.

For example, in the Deb Fischer and Dan Osborn race for the United States Senate, Senator Fischer responded to the NFA voter guide that she supports religious freedom, parental rights, and pro-life policies, and opposes taxpayer funding of abortion and legislation seeking to expand abortion at the federal level.

Dan Osborn did not respond to the NFA voter guide, but in media interviews, has stated he supports pro-choice policies and would vote to codify Roe v. Wade, expanding abortion in Nebraska and nationally.

From the top of the ticket to the bottom, your vote matters. Learn more and see where all of the candidates for President, U.S. Senate, Congress, State Legislature, and State Board of Education stand at NebraskaVoterGuide.com.

Visit our resource center for information on the abortion ballot initiatives and why Nebraskans should vote “for” Initiative 434 and “against” Initiative 439.

The 2024 legislative session is in full swing. Bill introduction has concluded, and next week, state senators will begin holding committee hearings and debating legislation that could impact our state, families, and children for decades to come.

As the only state in the nation with a unicameral legislature, in Nebraska, the people truly are the “second house.”

This means the citizens of Nebraska play an essential role in influencing the policies that govern our state, and that’s why Nebraska Family Alliance (NFA) is dedicated to empowering people to stand up for faith, family, and freedom at our state capitol.

To help accomplish this, we’re releasing our 2024 Bill Tracker with a categorized list of the most important bills NFA is advocating for and against this session. Find a concise summary of what each bill would do, a link to read each bill, status updates, and information on how to contact senators—all in one convenient, easy-to-read resource page.

ACCESS NFA'S 2024 BILL TRACKEREngaging in the legislative process is an opportunity to honor God and show love to our neighbors.

In the coming weeks, we will provide testimony and work with senators to advance bills that affirm the dignity of life, defend religious freedom, protect girls’ sports, strengthen parental rights, and combat human trafficking. We will oppose efforts seeking to expand abortion, infringe on Constitutional rights, and push harmful ideologies on children.

Government was God’s idea, and Christians should engage with it in a way that is consistent with its God-ordained purpose.

We can do this by committing to pray for all who are in authority and by leveraging our influence to advance laws and policies that support truth, justice, and human flourishing.

Thank you for your support as we advocate for family, freedom, and life at the Nebraska State Capitol. NFA will continue to keep you informed as the legislative session progresses and alert you of key opportunities to contact senators and make your voice heard.
