Hi everyone, my name is Ava, pronouns are she/her/hers. As a junior in highschool i’m currently taking a class that explores the intersection of storytelling and the world around us. As our final product, we had to design a course of study for ourselves. This was an opportunity to dive into topics that we’ve always wanted to look into but never had the chance.
I chose the philosophical question, “What is friendship”. I looked into the psychology and sociology of what is considered a friend, why we choose them, and what forms our interest. As my research has come to an end, I will be doing an easygo interview so I can understand my friends' opinions.
Black twitter, a network of culturally connected communicators using a platform to draw attention to issues of concern to black communities. In the USA, AAPI is seen as a group that is silent. API hashtags are ways for the younger generations to get into politics. People are able to share history, sorrows, dreams, rants, jokes, old photos—and made that's what made our community come alive. We challenged the narrative that the AAPI community is invisible or apathetic.
My idea is how Americans' main sources for COVID19 news relates to their demographics and politics. I’ll be getting my sources from interviews and polls that are online so I can have statistics of each group. I am hoping to interview my family members who have all lost something because of Covid and what they think of about the current situation vs the opposite spectrum.
