The church is how Christians can help each other. The church is supposed to be a place where we are a positive influence on each other. To do that we need to be close to God. We discuss this in today's message.

We all need help in life from time to time, and it is usually those closest to us that we go for and get help which is a great thing.  Yet, there are times when God is the one we should be seeking the most.  We can get bad advice from friends, but we always get what is good, right, holy and just when we go to God.  Seek God first, that should always be our choice.

We see the horrible results of the war in Ukraine, not just on the Ukraine people but the innocent people in Russia who are against the war but afraid to speak out knowing if they do they will be punished.  So many men killed from both countries, that this reminded me of a section of the Bible when God said that there would be a time when 7 women would hold onto the coat of one man, because of the shortage of men from war.  Men cause war, God wants peace, God wants to forgive.  God is a compassionate God who loves Mercy, but humanity keeps repeating the same problems, ignoring God and doing what they please.  Lets hear more about this in our message today.

The question is why hasn’t God intervened in my suffering is a common one.  But, does it mean that He couldn’t? Or is it that He chooses not to intervene for some reason?  Lets discuss this today in our message.

Romans 8:18  For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Who is God?  The answer is not as easy as you would think. Because God is God, He is a being beyond human comprehension so He is revealed to us in the Bible in human terms to help us understand a fragment of His true being.  Listen in to hear what the Bible tells us about God, who's thoughts and ways are so far above our own we will never in this life fully understand everything there is about Him.

God is all powerful, He is in control, but this is sometimes hard to see when life is  filled with trials.  Today we look at the comfort that comes from God.  We find the Bible shows us that God's comfort is not an escape from suffering and God's comfort is not an absence of trails.  God's comfort comes to us when we need it most, in our tribulations and pain.  Lets examine this more together.

I’ve said for years, God always wants to bless us more than we let him.  Finding God's blessings  helps us feel God's peace and joy, the greatest blessings of all, and it requires us to be people of mercy.

Read the following:
Matthew 5:7  Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.

Micah 6:8  He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?

Matthew 9:13  "But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."

Joseph trusted God for so long, and still things kept going against him.  But finally today we see that Joseph was finally rewarded for his patience.  I think it is often the case that we do not understand why God takes so long to reward out patience. But God is faithful and we will see that in Joseph's story.

One part of the resurrection story people often miss is that God first reveals the resurrection of Jesus to a woman with a tainted past history.  He did not reveal himself first to the religious leaders, he did not reveal this truth to the most important men there, but he reveals the resurrection to a woman with a questionable past.  The story of Christ’s resurrection should bring hope to everyone. This is not a religious story only for the strict religious few, but it is the story of hope for everyone in the world who needs hope, especially when there has been no hope for them in this world.

If you are looking for hope this message is for you.

Life can be so unfair. Joseph was a man who had many bad things happen to him that were not fair or just.  Even though he was a Godly man bad things continued to plague his life. But those things never changed Joseph’s faith in God; in fact we find that Joseph stays faithful to God no matter what. Let's follow this story and see what traits Joseph had that we can learn from and then apply to our own lives.

We live in uncertain times, much like the people of Israel at the time of Moses.  Moses and his people were under a terrible government, Moses was to deliver them, but, that deliverance would be in God's time.  Moses loses patience with God, with the bad government over the people of Israel and tries to take things into his own hands, but it was not God's timing.  As much as it is hard for us to understand, many years would have to pass before God's promise for deliverance would happen.  Sometimes immediate deliverance is not in God's plan.  Do we have the patience to wait on God?
