Partnership For The ARTS Talk Show 55 Where We Talk Art... Musicians Gary & Kerri. We had been hearing about these two musicians, from a lot our listeners in the surrounding areas they were really something to see. So when I found out they were performing at FM Don’s, a local restaurant in Punta Gorda I decided to check them out. As Dave Explains: “Kerri & I sat down during a break and we had a great conversation about their style of playing, their history, and I was impressed that they have been performing for so long as professional Musicians, and still got married and had a family that I knew they had a great story to tell and were a good fit for show. But I didn’t really know the full story until we did the interview and I’m just going to WOW.
You will enjoy this one as Gary & Kerri entertain you with stories about their travels and some of the big names they have performed with in the music industry. How they met, what 911 meant to them, what it’s been like to raise a family and how as performing musicians they have had to cope with the effects of CV-19 on the music industry, their schedules and the loss of friends. Join Dave and Nanette as they talk with artist Jill Lindsay. Jill's artistic journey began when she and her husband lived in the Keys. Inspired by the tropical colors, she started painting furniture. Fifteen years later, she'd painted pretty much all the furniture her home and the homes of her friends and family could accommodate. Now what? Jill started exploring other mediums. Her alcohol ink paintings are so festive they feel like a party on a canvas. Her mixed media work "Who Are You?" was created with altered National Geographic paper. (You'll have to listen in to learn what makes National Geographic paper so unique.) The collage received a merit award at the International Society of Experimental Artists' recent exhibit. Shown here are Jill's alcohol ink painting "Tree Amigos" and mixed medium "Look Up." You can find more of Jill's work at https://www.jilltheartist.com/.
