NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - You have not met everyone who is going to love youIt is easy to think the worst about ourselves. One of the worst negative thoughts can be about how there are people out there who do not like you.You need to change the leading narrative in your brain and start focusing on the people who love you and who are going to love you. This podcast episode is to give you a boost on that positive train of thought to help push away that mindset that’s only making you feel horrible about yourself.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - You do youIn the physical therapy profession, we think of ourselves last.As much as it’s wonderful that we are focused on being helpful to others, we also need to help ourselves. With that in mind, what does “you do you” actually mean for you?Honestly, I’m not an expert on this matter myself and I’m regularly asking myself this question.Listen to this podcast better brainstorm on what this means for yourself.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Working with others is like datingI understand people wanting to be able to work with everybody. Not everyone is a good fit in general, so why would there be an exception in the workplace?I am saying this for anyone who was looking to find a partnership in business or practice.Don’t be hard on yourself if you’re having a hard time finding someone who is the right fit for you.Once you find the right person, you will be super happy and the effort to find the right partner will be well worth it.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - What it means when you take on a non PT/PTA jobI wanted to talk about this topic in a very different way than how it is covered on social media.I can give full credit to this concept to my mentor Greg Todd, which helped me immensely as I started my own private practice specializing in treating dancers. If you are currently doing a non-PT or PTA job and you have been doing it for a long time and you’re happy, this episode is definitely not for you. This discussion is for individuals who are thinking about it or just starting off with a new thing outside of the physical therapy profession.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - The power of natureYes, I am referring to trees, leaves, plants, and other things outside that are known as nature. Lol.It is important for your mental health to be good in order to be better when treating your patients.Think about it: do you rehabilitate a dancer better when you’re happy or sad?Yes, that is a redundant question. This discussion on nature is to give you more solutions on how to help you have a happier life, and therefore, be better with your patients.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - The “don’t do it this way, do it this way” advertisingWe receive ads all the time on social media and online in general. There are some advertisements that can really confuse you on what to do in your career as a dance physical therapist or physical therapist assistant. This ad is meant to help you identify what’s being delivered to you to make a more educated decision on what you need to take action on.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Stop asking people for research studiesWoof. This podcast episode is meant to be very direct and to put an end to people asking other people to do work for them.In school, we are taught how to look up research studies. If you are given a title and the authors, you already have a Head Start. If you have to start from scratch, do the work. You didn’t in school and you gotta do it now.Don’t ask that of other people. You are saying that their time should revolve around what you need. Ever thought of the busy schedule each person has? Of the many items that person needs to do for their own self? Often, it feels awkward for them to say no, because most physical therapists are people pleasers and feel awful about saying no. So, they often say yes and begrudgingly do the work for you. They worry about being mean if they say no.This needs to stop. If you are looking for research, go find the research. You have literally spent tons of money to learn how to do it.Please stop asking for other people to get or find the link to research studies for you. It’s rude.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Blocking on Social Media for Mental HealthBlocking on social media can seem like a very harsh thing to do.This podcast episode is to discuss how it helps your mental health.Sometimes there are things on social media that really start you down a negative rabbit hole in your head.Blocking people and things can really help you from getting stuck in that dark hole.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Sleep deprivationSleep is very important. How often do you have conversations with your patients about sleep?Imagine going a week without a good night's sleep? Some dancers go through that or longer.Tune in to hear more on the topic.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Should dance PT be open to some or all PTs/PTAs?I don’t think they should be up for debate at all.Work on not going to ask a doctor, a surgical doctor, if he/she/they have a background in dance. As we learned in physical therapy school, everything can be learned.Something might take more work, but at the end of the day you can learn it.People need to stop being elitist about specific niches and physical therapy and be more welcoming to all who are interested.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Natural healers - movement and foodThis is not a new concept for physical therapist or physical therapist assistance.I wanted to discuss these natural healers, food and movement, to reiterate the solution.I was just in the drugstore the other day and so many people were either buying and overheard multiple conversations of people relying on medications to get them through the day without pain.In case you forgot, this is an epidemic. This podcast is to help keep that passion for change going because you can make a difference.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Setting a work routine - for those self-employedSetting a work routine when you are working for yourself is not the easiest thing to do and to commit to.There is no one hovering over your shoulder telling you when you need to clock in and clock out. There is no one telling you to get specific work done. There’s no one telling you what work you need to get done and what you don’t need to get done.Setting out a schedule for yourself on your daily to do list is highly beneficial as a private practice owner. If you are new to owning a practice, this will be a series of trial and error as you figure out the schedule that you need to commit to for your business and then the schedule you hope to eventually have as your business grows. This podcast was recorded to simply give you ideas on how to set about a schedule for yourself. You can take it or leave it. These are just ideas to try to help you.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - My research postsI actually don’t suspect many people listen to this podcast. This is for me to speak up about the posts I have done on social media about research.Unfortunately, people have not been kind and respectful in their response to me being of service to the profession.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - RetirementDid you graduate from PT or PTA school thinking about your retirement? Most of us do not because we’re looking at our student loans. That’s already enough stress.Planning for your retirement is very important and it’s something we all need to be thinking about.I would like every Dance PT professional to start thinking ahead like this because you deserve a quality retirement.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Setting a morning routineStarting your day off right is essential as a physical therapy or physical therapist assistant clinician or private practice owner.Have you ever had a day where you just thought it was not gonna be a good one? In this podcast episode, I discuss what I do in my morning routine that has made the world of a difference for my mental health and energy I need for the day.You need to take your care of yourself just as much as you need to take care of your patients.Like all my podcasts, use what I say as a series of ideas by applying what works for you.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - My experience with limiting my time on social mediaIt is very exciting to share my experience with limiting Thomas social media because I have found many benefits that I would like you to have as well. You do not need to do the exact same thing I suggest in this episode, but if any of what I do helps, please try it.Your mental health as a Dance PT or PTA Makes you more available to your dancers who need your expertise.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Predictable stress is worse than unpredictable stressFor our dancers, getting injured is very stressful. What’s even worse for them is knowing how long it will take them to recover. This podcast drives into conversations about healing time and how to best deliver it to your dancer patient.Sometimes it’s fast, sometimes it’s slow, and sometimes you truly don’t know. How do you put your dancer at most ease when talking about how long it will take for them to heal? This podcast dives into that.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Response to an old bikini articleI’m really late on this bandwagon, but I wanted to talk about that article that called out female medical practitioners for wearing bathing bikinis. It was such a blatantly sexist study that never needed to happen. We need to invest our research finances on more important topics.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - People pleasing in physical therapyThis is such an important podcast episode for all you Dance PT‘s and PTA‘s.People pleasing is an epidemic that doesn’t lead to good things many times because it puts you last.I need you to be energized, focused, motivated, and happy to better treat your dancer patience.Tune into this podcast episode to get good help with a major issue that often tears at your mental health.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Mentorship - What you get when it is freeThis podcast is based on the common saying: you get what you pay for.At the end of the day, I want every Dance PT and PTA to have the right mentorship. If you base it solely on the cost being zero dollars, you are cutting yourself short.Mentorship is extremely important for everyone. Let me repeat that: mentorship is extremely important for EVERYONE.I tried going without mentorship and only lasted a few months before I went running back to a mentor. The stress came on real fast and it was so much better with someone by my side.I want each of you to have quality guidance. You deserve the best.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Making yourself a monopoly hurts your dancer patientsIt’s time we start thinking more about our patients and less about ourselves.I think this is actually an issue in the physical therapy world where we’re concerned about looking impressive to other physical therapists.Look, I’m totally guilty of this myself and have to keep putting myself in a time out to rearrange my thoughts for the better. When you make yourself the only one who is good at something in physical therapy rehabilitation, that means your patients have less access. It’s that simple. We need us all to be good and that’s that.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Low back painI was super hesitant to make this podcast, but it came out like verbal diarrhea. To be super frank, I think I use the words diarrhea in the line above to try to scare away people who might judge me as I share some ways I help treat low back pain.I’m still having issues with judgy physical therapist and with that it makes me feel uncomfortable to share what helps my patients over and over and over again. With the success of what I do for low back pain in mind, I felt myself pulled to help out anybody who feels a little stuck with their patient rehabilitation regarding the low back.As usual, take what works for you and your patient and toss what doesn’t. You’ve got this!
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Look at the pillsIn our initial evaluation, we ask if a patient is taking any medications. There are also nutrients and vitamins Dancers could be taking that have never been prescribed to them. You need to find out what they are taking to better understand what is going on in their body. It’s not that you’re going to say they can or cannot take things, but it will help you better understand the full picture of what’s going on.This podcast episode is to get you to start thinking about the pills your dancer is taking when prescribing their physical therapy rehab plan.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Keeping on top of your taxes from a non tax proI am not a tax professional at all, and I am not an expert in this matter. In this podcast episode, I’m just sharing what I know to get you started with seeking professional help with your finances. It is so important to learn this!I got help on this matter and I am so grateful that I did so for myself.I want the same for you. You deserve financial success.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Let yourself have itI mean this in a very positive way.If you want something, why aren’t you letting yourself have it?Why do we delay the good things that we can just let ourselves have? This episode is to help you get out of your way and enjoy the things that make you happy.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Is it silly to get help with something you think you should do on your own?In the physical therapy world, many of us get stuck thinking we have to seem like we know all things when around other physical therapists. If you already have a background and dance, this means you should not get help with treating dancers then?It sounds so silly even when I write that question. We know we constantly need to be learning.Even as a dancer, especially as a ballet dancer, which is the dance form I grew up doing, you are never the expert at that. In ballet, we’re trying to perfect this dance form that is impossible to perfect. That’s why it never gets boring. We are used to never being the expert.I think that’s the same in any field. There is always something to learn that will make us better at what we do.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Having a sleep routineGetting a good night's sleep is so valuable. As you heard my last podcast episode, I really care about energy for the PT/PTA clinician. After reading several books and working with Dance PT friends who have the same interest, I found a sleep routine that really works for me that I’m excited to share with you. When I first thought of creating a sleep routine, it honestly annoyed me because I didn’t want my life to become more regimented.I’m a person who likes to feel free and not tied down. However, this sleep routine I’ve been doing has really worked for me And I find myself shockingly unsatisfied if I don’t do it.I am definitely not a sleep expert, but I am a person who likes what I’m doing for my sleep. If anything in my sleep routine is something you want to try, go for it knowing that you may likely sleep a lot better when you try it.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - How what you eat for lunch effects your patient careYou are what you eat.I still can’t stand that saying, but it is so true!I just wanted to talk about what you eat at lunch because it profoundly affects how we are able to be on our game or not on our game after we finish our meal. There are some foods that give you energy, there are some foods that put you to sleep, and there’s some that actually get you irritated. This podcast is meant to be a jumping start for you to start thinking about how you are fueling yourself during the day.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Giving yourself a chance to pausePausing includes pausing in the brain.Let me say that again.Pausing includes pausing in the brain.I want to say that line twice in case you never listen to this podcast episode and you at least get the benefit of that line.It is easy to be nonstop with work work work as a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant. You need to pause in order to recover just like your body needs to recover in order to better perform.I’m talking about performing in your professional and personal life.Knowing how to fully pause is vital.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - How to help with energyI can talk about energy all the time.As people who treat Dancers, Energy is very important for them. When they were younger and then the adolescent portion of their life, energy came by more easily for them. But as they age into their professional years in dance, energy does get harder to come by over time. This negatively affects the healing process and motivation in physical therapy rehabilitation.Dancers in many cases are going to be more motivated to do the work, but if energy is hard to come by, it decreases the likelihood that they’ll keep up with the work they need to do.Tune in to get some of the ideas on how to help with energy.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Getting outsideNature is very healing and I want to talk about it.Many physical therapists and physical therapist assistants deal with stress and anxiety, and getting out so I can be a great and affordable solution. How often are you in nature? How often do you go on a walk outside? These are questions you really do need to ask yourself and make changes accordingly for your mental health. The better your mental health, the better you are able to treat your dancer patients.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - How life is better without social media and how you can get that backSocial media causes so much mental distress. After 2020, we know this!I think the major question is how can we get back to that better mental health we had before social media? This podcast episode is meant to provide realistic solutions that can help you live a happier life as a Dance PT or PTA.Hope it helps!
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - How comparing yourself to others wastes timeHave you ever thought about how much time it takes you to compare yourself to others?Aside from it being a thought, you may spend more time on social media looking them up or talking about them. That's a precious time in your life that you don’t want to give away. You really only live once and your time is valuable. You are valuable. If you find yourself in a rut and are thinking about other people's success and beating yourself up because you don’t look like someone else, this podcast episode is for you.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Getting organizedGetting organized sounds simple, but it takes not only initial work, but then regular work to keep up with it.I personally have done a lot of work to keep my things organized in my dance physical therapy practice.I find myself much calmer because of it.It is one thing to set it up, but a whole other thing to keep on it.Tune into this podcast to stay motivated to remain more organized in your work.It will help reduce a lot of anxiety and stress.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Get a supportive PT/PTA networkYou have to have the right support system as a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant. There are no exceptions.Make sure you are surrounded by the right people who are right for you. This podcast goes into more detail to better help you surround yourself with individuals in the profession who want to see you thrive in this industry.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Finding Creativity from Your YouthWhen we were young, we had so many options on how to be creative. As we get older, it’s hard to tap into that creativity, that imagination that comes so naturally. This creativity can really help when creating therapeutic exercises for each individual patient. This podcast is meant to motivate you to reconnect with the creativity from your youth to make you a better practitioner and a happier person.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Forgiving PeopleThis podcast episode is hilarious to me because I think it’s one of my worst ones.I decided to keep it because the topic of forgiving people is very important. You already have enough stress on your plate so to invest your energy in anger or hatred about another person only zaps your energy. And energy is valuable. If you choose to listen to this podcast episode, use it as an inspiration to find solutions on how to let go of grudges that you have on people.I am definitely not an expert on the topic, but I know it is important to bring up.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Eating when hungryThis podcast is for the clinician who is struggling with energy. When working at the clinic, you are working with patients often back to back and it can be hard to find that energy you need after lunch specifically. This discussion is to help you be more alert and sensitive to what your physical responses after you eat.I think energy is super valuable and I want to help you find ways to get it without coffee.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Follow-ups for exercise adherenceFollowing up with how the patient is doing is very essential and their recovery. These dancers want to get back to their sport as soon as possible. With that, knowing how to professionally follow up with these dancers is very valuable to them.Tune into this podcast to get some ideas on how you could follow up with your dancers.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Do your exercisesYou’re probably wondering why I’m talking about you, the physical therapist or physical therapist assistant, and doing your exercises. You need to do them too!How are you going to help your dancers if you can’t physically be as present because you haven’t been doing the work yourself?Tune in to get more motivation to take care of yourself.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Fitting your exercises inNo, this is not a typo at all.I am talking about you, the physical therapist or physical therapist assistant, getting your exercises in.You need your body to work efficiently and effectively as a movement specialist. Not only does it help you better demonstrate to your patients, it also helps you have better mental health.Bonus! You better understand how to conquer motivation for doing your exercises on a regular basis. That helps you better guide your dancers and get the work done as well.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Fitting paperwork into your lifeI have to be honest, this podcast doesn’t have a ton of suggestions, but it’s the beginning of a brainstorm for you.We all hate paperwork and I wanted to have the discussion to open up the floor to any other good ideas.I swear, the first person to write a book on tricks to do paperwork with the necessary details and unless time will make so much money.I would buy that book now!
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Do you need the pause or need the pushIn a world where we have so much anxiety, fear, and stress, this is the question we are constantly asking ourselves. So, I brought it up for discussion because it’s always good to reevaluate where you are at.Are you currently not getting work done because you need the break? Or are you currently not getting work done and need the push to get going?Listen in on this episode to better evaluate where you are at right now and what you need to do or not do.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Budgeting moneyHonestly, typing the title of this podcast episode kinda gave me a headache. The idea of finances stresses me out.The reality is we have to be on top of our money in regards to how we budget it, and earn it.It is a balance that we need to address on a regular basis. This podcast episode is to give you a positive wake up call on your financial actions, so you can have less stress with your money.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Do you ever feel like it is not good enoughWhy can’t what you do ever be good enough? In life, we achieve things, but it is never enough.Do you ever let yourself just celebrate what you’ve just done? What you just achieved? It can be small or it could be big.Tune into this podcast to get more encouragement for everything that you do. I want to celebrate all your wins with you.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Do not worry about being “the first” at anythingStop worrying about being original. That’s absolutely off-topic on your journey of life.If we were born to try to only be original, then we would be stressing ourselves out all the time.Every choice we will make would have a question with it because if it’s not original, then apparently it’s not good enough? In this podcast episode, let’s beat down the stressful notion that we have to be one of a kind and start enjoying our ideas whether they are original or not.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Catching your breathWe are always on the go in the PT world. With that in mind, what do you do to help give yourself a pause? This false mindset of having to always do things in order to be successful is false. You are not successful if you’re always stressed out and anxious. This anxiety leads to unhappiness and how can you feel successful if you are unhappy? The point being, listen to this podcast to get some ideas on how to give yourself a chance to pause.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Appreciate what you haveDo you ever do this for yourself: appreciate what you have?I wanted to talk on this matter because many self-help books talk about taking a pause to appreciate what you are grateful for… It is a common theme when it comes to suggestions for personal development. So, let’s talk about it.Tune in to see if this might be something you do for yourself on a semi regular or regular basis to keep you in a joyful space.I’m not talking about toxic positivity… I’m talking about authentic positivity and how to get there.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Am I a good fit for you?Do not be fooled by the title of this episode. This podcast is not about me at all, but about you. This is what you have to ask yourself every time you are thinking of hiring or working with someone in some manner.Every single person you let’s sit at the same table with you has to be a good fit for you.Yes, if you are working with a big company there will be some exceptions, but when you have the option to create a supportive and loving environment in the place you work, take control of your surroundings.Tune in to help better identify individuals that compliment your preferred work environment.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - BullyingEvery time I have to talk about bullying, I feel very uncomfortable because I’m a victim of it.Bullying is a terrible thing and it doesn’t matter what profession you are in.Unfortunately, it is everywhere. This podcast is to help you identify whether you have ever been bullied or if you have been the bullier. We need to create a safer working environment for each other and for our patients.Tune in to learn how you can be better for your dancer patients and PT/PTA peers.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - A list of people who were “successful” later in life - it is never too lateWe put walls up on ourselves for why we can’t pursue our dreams to be specialists and dad‘s physical therapy.Stop that. This list is for people who are at a certain age where they think pursuing a dream is no longer an option. This list is not for somebody who is looking to postpone pursuing their dreams.I’m all about taking action whilst not beating yourself up in the process.I’ve got to give yourself love on your journey to success.
NEW DANCE PT PODCAST EPISODE 🩰💃🏿🕺🏽🔥🎤Topic - Be present as you move forward with your goalsIt is so easy to go through your entire day and hardly be actually present in it.We are often looking at our past or looking at our future. This is not the way to enjoy life! This podcast is meant to help you be present in your life, so you can actually enjoy it.Being present helps with anxiety and depression, so why not explore it a little?

When you move, you feel better.
This gets forgotten when a dancer is depressed and not feeling so great about themselves.

Title: Don't judge a book by its cover
Physical therapists do this to each other all the time.
Many of you listening to this podcast know exactly what I'm talking about and how awful it feels.
Because you know how it feels, do not do that to your dancers. I do not care about how they look, act, or their general energy overall.

Title: Do you do exercises with your dancers?
I imagine that if I said this in a room full of physical therapists, they would look to each other for reactions in order to best decide what they think of this.
Stop looking around!
Look to the dancer - what will motivate them more?
Exercise adherence is the biggest block for full rehabilitation back to sport.
I'm not saying you must exercise with your dancer oh, but what are you doing then to keep them motivated?

Title: Digestion and anxiety
These two go together.
There is nothing separate about these two issues at all.
When we are stressed, our digestion is off. When we are not digesting well, we get stressed.
Many many dancers are not at peace with the food they eat. Their physical appearance becomes dominant and most important. This throws off their digestion and makes him even more anxious.
It's a vicious cycle.

I'm not talking about the difference between treatment and education.
In fact, I am discussing how we set out to learn the information.

Title: Biggest change you want to see in dance PT
This was a conversation in the dance PT group on Facebook.
In my opinion, I think the biggest change we need is true Community.
I'm sick of the negative Nancy's who seem to feed off of criticizing other dance medicine practitioners.
That is toxic behavior and I do not put up with it.
In fact, I find myself having to regularly help others recover from their past/recent mistreatment from other practitioners.

Title: Podcast Re-Introduction
Yep, that's right!
It's time for a reintroduction because the podcast is going to change this year.
There's going to be a significant decrease in lengthy interviews in an increase in 5 minute episodes to keep you motivated to pursue your career in dance Physical Therapy.
The biggest thing I learned last year was that physical therapists do not have time.
It can either be from school, work schedule, raising a family, and many other things.
These five-minute episodes are purposeful, so the time commitment is less and you are able to keep up.
I'm putting the listener (you) first and making sure you get the information I think may help you.

Time and time again, I have been approached by student and professional PTs who don't think they can treat dancers because they never were one themself. . You don't need to be a dancer to treat dancers! . We don't ask surgeons to have backgrounds as dancers, so why would we ask that of ourselves, the PT community? . That only limits the number of people who can help dancers and there are so many who need access to PTs who understand them. . How is this possible? . Listen to today's discussion with the great Carmen Turcott Wurtz to hear how she did it.
What about treating kids who do musical theatre shows? What injuries to they experience? How often do they happen? How do parents react to it? . That is what we will be discussing today with Nate Sawyer, director of more than one musical theatre program in his life. . He has seen it all and has experience building kids theatre programs from scratch. . If there is anyone to have this conversation with, it is Mr. Sawyer.
My performer buddy, Annabel Rosario, has been a Mascot for YEARS for many, many major companies. . Did you know that mascot work is best performed by dancers? . That's right! . As rewarding as the job may be with the interaction with kids, it takes a big toll on the body over time. . Annabel has agreed to come on and discuss the potential injuries in case someone who does this work walks in your door.
What the heck is renatrition and how does it connect with my work as a dance physical therapist? How is it a game changer in rehab? . That is what we get the pleasure of discussing with Dr. Alexis Sams from AZ DanceMed. . Dr. Sams always comes with a plethora of knowledge, kindness, and generosity in the physical therapy community. . Trust me, when you tune in, you will be so happy that you did..
Let's talk about how to be a Good PT Student for Your CI . Thank you, Dr. Danielle Bazelak❤️️, for agreeing to do this interview to help students who want to do their best. . I'm super excited about this discussion because it is likely not going to go the direction you expect.
Dr. Jelani Davis has agreed to come on and talk about getting a job after graduating from PT school. . This is a common stress point and struggle for PT new grads whether they are striving to be a dance PT or not, so let's talk about it. . The purpose is to help others know you are not alone and the common uphill battles people face. . It is easy to give up your dream to be a Dance PT. . This is one of the obstacles in a PT's life that becomes yet another reason why you won't let yourself pursue a PT career that works with dancers. . Listen, get inspired, and take action.
My cruise line buddy, Dr. Rachel Perry❤️️, is coming on to have an open discussion on the injuries we experienced and saw experienced when we performed on cruise lines. . Yes, we are physical therapists, but our perspectives on cruise ship health is different because we actually experienced it. 💃🕺 . ✨I'm thrilled to have this conversation and help other student and professional PTs better understand this line of work for dancers.
Adrian Miranda, one of the speakers for the Dance PT Summit, is coming on to share some wisdom on the value of producing quality content.
Most of us don't think about the most efficient, professional, and HIPAA compliant platforms for scheduling our dancer patients. . Here are two major places where you can get this done. . Dr. Aliya Bahjet is coming on to have a discussion on both platforms to you help you figure out which platform is best for you. . There are many many things that need to come to place when you start treating dancers on your own. . This information will help you out so much.

Power couple, Cory and JoJo Rankin, will be coming on to discuss this very topic. . Our dance PT dreams don't happen overnight. It takes time, consistency, and patience. .
