THE FRUITFUL CHRISTIAN

1. Remember the Power of Spiritual Fruit.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience,

kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and

self-control. Against such things there is no law”

(Gal. 5:22-23).

  • Spiritual fruit is upward, inward and outward.
  • Spiritual fruit is produced to make us more like Jesus.

2. Remember the Purposes of Spiritual Fruit.

  • Spiritual fruit is meant to meet the needs of others.
  • Spiritual fruit is meant to “reproduce itself.”

3. Remember the Pruner of Spiritual Fruit.

  • God prunes with his Word. (John 15:1-2)
  • God prunes through our problems. (Rom. 5:3-4)
  • God prunes us as we abide in Him. (John 15:4-5)

I Remember Mother Because of Her Christian Faith.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith,

and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

not of works lest anyone should boast. For we

are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for

good works, which God prepared beforehand that

we should walk in them” (Eph. 2: 8-10).

I Remember Mother Because of Her Parental Guidance.

“Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod

of discipline will drive it far from him” (Proverbs 22:15).

I Remember Mother Because of Her Living Hope.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us

again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus

Christ from the dead” (I Peter 1:3).

There are many mothers who have provided and continue to

provide loving acceptance, corrective discipline, godly faith and

practical faithfulness making our world a better world in which

we live. Mothers, in these efforts you are doing the work of

God. We salute you. We rise up to call you blessed!

The Shout of Victory

John 19:28-30

Victory Because Our Redemption Is Perfectly Satisfied

Hebrews 9:24-28

· Atonement is at-one with God.

· Freedom from a sinful condition and cultural notions

“For you know that it was not with perishable things

such as silver and gold that you were redeemed

from the empty way of life handed down to you

from your forefathers” (I Peter 1:18 NIV).

Victory Because Our Sin Debt Is Perfectly Justified

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those

who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1 NIV).

· The account is settled.

“…having cancelled the written code, with its

regulations, that was against us and that stood

opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the

cross” (Col. 2:14 NIV).

· The symbol of Christian community now is a table

and not an altar.

Victory Because Our Future Victory Is Perfectly Verified

· The benefits are now.

I John 1:9

· The future rewards are secure.

“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the

life. He who believes in me will live, even though he

dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will

never die. Do you believe this?’”

(John 11:25-26 NIV).

“I would need all the other words ever spoken, or ever can be

spoken to explain this one word. It is immeasurable. It is high;

I cannot attain it. It is deep; I cannot fathom it.” C. H. Spurgeon

“It is the greatest word ever uttered in the greatest moment

of time by the greatest person whoever trod the earth.

‘It was the shout of victory!’”

The Magnetism of the Cross

John 12:31-33

THE MAGNETISM OF LOVE

· Incarnate Love

“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent

his one and only Son into the world that we might live

through Him. This is love; not that we loved God: but

that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning

sacrifice for our sins” (I John 4:9-10).

“The conquering Messiah of the Jews

is a figure about whom scholars write their books; but the

prince of love on the cross is a king who has his throne

forever in the hearts of men” (William Barclay).

· Loving beyond reason

· Loving without boundary

· Loving enough to die on a cross

THE MAGNESTISM OF GRACE

“There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is

right and never sins” (Eccl. 7:20).

A – Admit (Romans 3:23)

B – Believe (John 3:16)

C – Confess (Romans 10:9, 10, 13)

· The differences among us is not that some are sinners and

others are not. It is only in the degree of our sin. Jesus’ death

on the cross is God’s answer to man’s sin.

“Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no

more” (Heb. 10:17).

THE MAGNETISM OF VICTORY

· The Cross marked the ultimate victory over Satan.

· The struggle between light and darkness, good and

evil, God over Satan has been settled. Jesus Christ is

the Victor!

· The victory we have in Christ is the doorway to

eternal victory.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that

whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

The Blood of Christ

 Powerful Enough to Secure

“The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are;

and when I see the blood, I will pass over you…” (Ex. 12:13).

The Hebrew word “to pass over” is connected to the Egyptian

word meaning “to spread wings over to protect.” Just as a

mother hen will spread her wings to gather her chicks for

protection, so the Lord Himself through His blood sacrifice

is enough to protect us from death itself!

“I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.

He will come in and go out, and find pasture” (Jn. 10:9).

 Powerful Enough to Save

“When the Lord goes through the land to strike down the

Egyptians, he will see the blood on top and sides of the door

frame and will pass over that doorway, and he will not

permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you

down” (Ex. 12:23).

 Powerful Enough to Sanctify

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in

him we might become the righteousness of God”

(II Cor. 5:21).

Sanctify in the biblical perspective means to cleanse from sin.

Sanctify in the biblical explanation means our unrighteousness

is not only cleansed by the blood of Christ but His blood

replaces our unrighteousness with His righteousness.

“…that we might become the righteousness of God”

(II Cor. 5:21b).

The Antidote to Fear

Isaiah 41:10-13

GOD’S PRESENCE

“I am with you…” (v. 41:10a)

Powerful; Wise; Loving

GOD’S RELATIONSHIP

“I am your God…” (v. 41:10b)

For us, these words imply the following:

Reverence; Obedience; Submission.

For God, these words imply the following:

Guardianship; Blessing.

We naturally take special care of that which

is our own.

GOD’S PROMISE

“I will strengthen you…help you…uphold you!”

(vs. 41:10c; 13)

I will strengthen thee.

I will help thee.

I will uphold thee.

The right hand is generally used for work.

The right hand is offered in friendship.

The right hand is placed on those whom we wish to honor.

CONCLUSION

· Remember God’s promise never to leave you!

· Remember God is never surprised by our circumstances.

· Remember God is (and will) keep working through you.

· Remind yourself how God has stood with you in the past.

. Remind yourself to place what scares you into God’s hand!
