Today we are going to talk about people who go to real estate seminars and pay thousands of dollars on how to find depressed property and buy it for no money down. Sometimes they want you to ask the seller to pay the closing costs of the house.
That’s pretty wild. People are still trying to flip houses? I thought that went out with the 20th century.
If anyone doesn't know what she is talking about, flipping a house means when you buy a house under the market value, fix it up and sell it for a profit. Most people who do this will tell you “Flipping a house just isn't that easy”. If you aren’t a skilled carpenter or electrician you could lose all kinds of money.
That’s true. And selling a house is not easy. You could get in all kinds of trouble if you don't know what you are doing.
This episode tries to warn people about some salespeople who sell courses on how to find a depressed property. Let’s listen to a video from our website. The tape begins with two old guys watching tv when a commercial comes on with a smooth talking salesperson. Tape 1
The video has a regular guy getting rich selling houses. The video wants you to believe you also can get rich too by merely watching a few videos. They may be dressed casually. Most schemes have something the sales person is not telling you. In this video what do you think the salesperson is leaving out?
I think it’s the fact that you won’t end up paying 3 payments of 49.95, but you will have to buy a lot of videos costing thousands of dollars before you can finish the course.
That’s right and you could end up spending thousands of dollars. And if you can’t find any house to sell the scammers may state, it’s your fault, we gave you all this information on how to sell houses and you just aren’t smart enough to sell houses.
Now the next video is a satire about how scammers take advantage of old folks. Some old folks may not know the true market value of their house. If a scammer can convince the elderly person to give him or her power of attorney, he or she can sell the house for thousands of dollars and make a huge profit.

I’ve known people who go around looking for a elderly person who doesn't have a clue what their house is worth. Bottom feeders are not even close to what these people should be labeled who take advantage of the elderly.
Some people will do anything for an easy buck. Keep an eye on your grandparents so they don’t get hustled by some dirt ball scammer.

Nothing has changed that much, people are still getting fleeced.
I know a lot of older people never report losing their money to a scammer because they are embarrassed.
Yes But, why do some people just never seem to learn not to be swayed by some slick talking man or woman. They keep falling for the same type of smooth talker over and over again.
Most videos that I’ve seen have instructors who aren’t teachers but fast talking salespeople. My opinion is most people have dreams of bettering their lives. but there are a lot of people who want to cash in on people’s dreams by charging them huge amounts of money to make them think they have a way to make their dreams come true... Everyone should proceed with caution when someone offers you a deal that seems too good to be true. Buyer Beware!
