On the final episode for 2017, the boys wrap up the trade period and press Ronny on his controversial Age story (at least he thought it was) about the race between the Bombers and the Blues for their 17th flag. The guys nominate which game they’d most like to see when the 2018 AFL draw is released shortly and play ‘Choose your (AFL) president. They also have a quick look at a big few weeks of cricket about to start.Special guest Simon Marshall from sportsbet.com.au talks about the hidden life of jockeys, hoe he celebrated a Group One win at at age 16 (it involves a waterbed) and gives his Melbourne Cup tip. The team is back to full strength as it reaches the quarter-century milestone and the podcast starts with Daniel rating the food at the various best and fairest counts he attended over the last few weeks. The premiership race is coming to a head, but the Swans won’t be part of it, and we discuss whether the Buddy contract has been a success. We also look at the Giants’ crowd, or lack thereof, and question whether anyone should be surprised, or alarmed. Our guest ahead of the Brownlow medal is Herald Sun entertainment reporter Jackie Epstein, who discusses what it’s like to cover football’s night of nights from a different perspective. She mentions some of the huge-name celebrities she’s interviewed over the years, and talks about how she never has to pay for a meal this time of year.
