You know that friend you call for two minutes and suddenly it’s been an hour ? Yip, that’s Baxbara ! From serious topics like people pleasing, performative Christianity and navigating adulthood to that ONE TIME she drank ALL the communion at a church camp (okay, maybe it happened more than once). Grab an iced coffee as Bax recounts funny, but somewhat serious anecdotes and moments in her life where she thought it was the end of the world but in hindsight had some sort of lesson attached to it (but mostly humour, lol).

The biggest excuse I gave was that "I don't have time", until I recognised that I was just complacently using that time to do OTHER things that didn't necessarily feed into my goals.

Today we're going over 3 hard truths that I had to face before getting into action on an episode we're calling "Becoming Disciplined". While I may not be a professional at discipline, I definitely have made TONS of progress, and I really think you can too -- so tap in!

No one outside your head knows the exact battles you're fighting or how many early mornings you've dragged yourself out of bed, but that doesn't mean it goes unnoticed. You're trying your best and that should be good enough FOR YOU, because that dedication is adding up and your season of reward is creeping up! (Read Col 3:23 & Gal 6:12)
If my little life has taught me anything it's that nothing lasts forever, not hardships, not high moments, not even relationships.
So how do you continue to show up consistently in an inconsistent world/life? My 3 takeaways this past week:
1. Take a break (and don't wait for permission)
In an age where we can see the opinions of LITERALLY the whole world, it's so important to take a moment to recalibrate with your own, take time out to search yourself and ask (God) whether the direction you're speeding off into -- is indeed correct.
If a surgeon cuts 1cm too deep or a pilot flies 1 degree off, the end result is dramatically different, and that's how I'm trying to steward my energy. In the right direction with the right amount of commitment.
2. Practice Gratitude
This art of gratitude has helped keep me grounded in my most exciting seasons, because I understand the value of the opportunities I'm living in and in times of desperation or despondency it helps me lift my eyes off of what I don't have so I can maximise what I do have.
Soon you'll come to realize what God has given you and the responsibility that comes with it. Then wake up everyday and ask yourself: How are you bringing heaven on earth with the gifts heaven sent you with?
3. You'll have to tune into the @boldly.becoming podcast on Friday to get this point 🤣😉❤️.

There’s a power in allowing yourself to be known and heard, in owning your unique story, in using your authentic voice. And there’s a grace in being willing to know and hear others. This, for me, is how we become. - Michelle Obama

Hey Besties!

Today we’re talking about the power of representation and why sharing your voice matters. And let me tell you, I'm speaking from experience. I've had my own journey in taking up space and owning my power, and it's not always easy. But, guuurl, it's worth it.  See, everyone's voice has value, no matter who they are. And it takes hearing someone else's story to feel seen and heard -- that's why, to my mother's disdain 🤣, I often open up about my own traumas and experiences online.  So grab a cup of coffee (or wine, we won't judge), and get ready for some laughs and real talk!

"Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become." - Steve Jobs

For a lot of us, we’ve got dreams and visions for our lives but is that what God wants for us? In most cases, our desires and talents hint to the purpose God has for us — but can equally become the idol that causes our demise.

"Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand. Better yet, redouble your efforts. Be energetic in your life of salvation, reverent and sensitive before God. That energy is God’s energy, an energy deep within you, God himself willing and working at what will give him the most pleasure. Do everything readily and cheerfully—no bickering, no second-guessing allowed! Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Disclaimer: EXTREMELY sensitive and potentially TRIGGERING topics will be discussed in depth in this video regarding weight, eating disorders, body dysmorphia, exercise addiction, stigma, calories, and bad body-image. All opinions are my own. THIS VIDEO MAY NOT BE FOR YOU & THAT IS OK!

If I’m being honest with you, I don’t have all the answers or any even. I’ve dealt with workaholism & a toxic relationship with food as a result for years.

How I feel about my body, has nothing to do with anyone else nor does it reflect how I feel about bodies that do not look like my own, my body image is affected by nothing and no one but MYSELF. Body positivity is subjective to the inhabitant of the body.

It’s been quite a journey, but my hope is that someone would relate, know they’re not alone & be willing to work on it together as a supportive community.

My fear of conflict and being tolerated in spaces & relationships has definitely kept me from making decisions in the past and standing firm on my NO! Where does one find the balance between dying to self to serve people and falling into the snare of seeking validation ? In today’s episode we’ll go into depth about one of the biggest culprits of anxiety — people pleasing.
