Hosted by Dino Mennillo, the Clinical Director of the OTFC Group and Esther Fong, an OTFC Occupational Therapist, the Integration Station aims to connect parents, caregivers, therapists, health professionals, teachers and students around the globe to explore and celebrate the role of Ayres Sensory Integration when working with children and adolescents. This podcast strives to support and empower parents, caregivers and therapists caring for children with additional needs.
The Integration Station will unpack topics suggested by our listeners with a range of local and international experts in child development. We also hope to provide a platform for families to share their journeys supporting young people living with disability.
For our final podcast of the year, we're joined Dr. Subashni Maharaj, a neonatal paediatrician specialising in developmental, behavioural, and learning impairments.
Subashni’s goal is to equip families with the skills and self-assurance required to support their kids through every stage of life all while she tries to strike a balance between running her clinic at the Ashford Hospital in Adelaide and her role as a working Mum.

SENSES model has been developed through many years of applying the theory and practice of Ayres Sensory Integration, mental health supports and functional skill development in clinic with diverse populations. It's Neurodiversity Month all this month on The Integration Station. This week we have the privilege of sitting down with one of our OT's Siena to talk about receiving an ADHD diagnosis as an adult.
After noticing that some OT activities she was providing her clients were also working for her, Siena decided to explore the diagnosis process.

Esther unpacks Kate Watts inspiring story. Kate is an OTFC client and University of South Australia Occupational Therapy student who advocates for young people on the Autism Spectrum. Formally diagnosed when she was 16 years of age, Kate shares how she felt liberated by her diagnosis and now benefits from regular OT and Psychology support. Kate mentors younger adolescents on the Spectrum through volunteer and paid work at Mark Le Messuirer's What's the Buzz program. She is also a member of Tutti Art's 'Company AT' drama program, where she acts and produces with other performers on the Autism Spectrum.

Dino and Esther interview Paediatrician Dr Anthony Chitti, from Adelaide Peadiatrics, Flinders Medical Centre and Calvary Hospital.
