It has been a growing year 2 for the Steeples and Peoples podcast. After a small hiatus the return of the Art at the Park festival is rejuvenated and ready to rock again in late September. Animal Lovers inhabit almost every square inch of Frederick County. On almost any day of the week you notice a loyal owner taking their trustee dog for a walk in the city. Our guest this week on the Steeples and Peoples podcast are the backbone behind the support and love that is needed to protect and take care of the pets without homes. Betee Brown, founder of FFOCAS and her cohort Kathleen Clancy Jefferson have been the face of an organization that helps the Frederick Animal Shelter with its many needs. Without Frederick Friends of Our County Animal Shelter many of the local pets would not be able to make it. FFOCAS is a non-profit group that helps to raise funds and provide support for the shelter. They will discuss the origin of the group, how they have grown and the latest and greatest events they will be holding as they work towards an upgrade of the Animal Shelter that has been in existence since the 1970’s.
