The Digimon Card Game is going through a phase of what can only be called the Scrub Player Mentality. What is that, you might ask? Scrub Player Mentality Syndrome (SPMS) is a term used to describe players that constantly complain about the state of the game, perpetuate that the game is dying and have an unrelenting dissatisfaction with the game's growth and development. Those inflicted with SPMS tend to not be the greatest players, and while the effects can be temporary, more often than not become a permanent illness.

BT-12 has been out for a couple weeks now, and early tournament results have shown that Beelzemon X is a force to be reckoned with. With the release of the Advanced Starter Deck and BT-12, the Beelzemon deck has become a low floor, high ceiling deck, meaning anyone is capable of picking up the deck and playing the combos. It's been quite a ride for Bandai and the Digimon Card Game in North America. In the past, Bandai has been the subject of many complaints due to the release schedule difference between NA and JP, as well as the logistic crisis that happened during the pandemic (and still continues to affect supply chains today!) However, despite the positive changes, the recent decline in Bandai's regional prizing support (especially when compared to last year's tournaments) has left players disappointed (well, most of them, at least.)
