Youths Finding New ’Highs’
It is painful to see someone you know become an addict. They start failing at everything in life throwing all their potential away hurting those who love them. Sometimes the pressure is just too much and many believe drug abuse is the way. During the COVID 19 pandemic many mothers witnessed their sons and daughters throw away their futures into the bin. Yes! drug abuse was always an issue, a area hard to tackle but the COVID 19 pandemic made it all worse it ruined many lives and left many scars that we are still nursing up to date. We have to fight against drug abuse as Zimbabweans but condemning those who have fallen into the ropes of drug abuse is not the way. We have to accept them and help them because many end up psychotic, suicidal and unstable. We should have more organisations like the ThebettertomorrowmovemenZW, Anti-Drug-Abuse-Association-of-Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe Civil Liberties and Drug Network [ZCLDN], with the mission to advocate for the effective strategies for addressing problems associated with drug use in Zimbabwe and Southern Africa. This a fight worth fighting to save all youths who have fallen victim to drug abuse. Let’s not condemn them but help them. People seem to be so good at judging and segregating drug abuse is not a joke. Let us stand to fight drug abuse so that the future generations are saved. Drug abuse has reached crisis level, rehabilitation structures should be put up across the country. The fight against drug abuse should be an everyday movement. It is disturbing how even primary kids have fallen into drug abuse at such a tender age. Let us stand and save the young generation from this predator. #Letusfightdrugabuse
