Whatever Your Normal Is: Recent Episodes

Emmanuelle

Busy days call for an accumulation of unfinished thoughts, that cannot go unprocessed. At least, that's the case if you have a deep need to understand and be understood like I do. This podcast is all about introspection. I'm no expert. I'm just your average stay-at-home mother of three, forever warming up her coffee in the microwave. Target audience? Anyone who shares a passion for self-improvement and has a sense of humour!

Dear listeners,

I couldn't think of a better way of ending this first podcasting season, than by sharing the mic with my friend Emilie Brunet.  Her fierceness is inspiring and no words can describe how this enormous act of courage of hers will benefit her, her family, her friends and listeners. I have so much to learn from her and I truly admire her for being the badass woman and mother she is.  Here's her son Oli's story.

Sincerely,

Em

Hey hey!

Health and fitness anyone?
In this episode I'm talking about how  my perception of nutrition and fitness has changed for me in the past few years, but mostly in the past few months.

Here you can find my most famous kitchen fails. Ha! Also, my personal thoughts on self-sabotage and the importance of giving oneself some time to reach one goal at a time. Sometimes skipping goal setting all together, and simply living in the present moment can end up being more beneficial. Especially (key word, especially) if in that present moment you're not at your best. It’s unrealistic and not healthy to be aiming for perfection on survival mode.

I hope you can relate!

Sincerely,

Em

Hi guys!

January is mental health awareness month. For me, January has good vibes. In fact, January seems to always be the start or something new and refreshing for me (birth of my son, new initiatives, new hobbies) and I make myself a priority. Unfortunately, that’s not the case for everyone. Sometimes negative experiences tend to stay associated to the time of year they occurred, and seem to stick with us from year to year. If this is the case for you, I hope this month you will be able to create new memories to cherish.

In case anyone needed to be able to relate, here’s my experience with mental health challenges.

Sincerely,

Em

Dear listeners,

I am beyond thrilled to introduce to you my coach, Étienne Asselin.
He met me when I was a bit of a hot mess a few years back and I needed his help working through some stuff that was long overdue.

In this episode, Étienne explains how he became a coach and what realizations he's made in the process. We also talk about some of the key components with regards to the work he and I did together. Topics covered here, among others, are compassion, vulnerability, and also finding the balance between following your gut instinct and allowing yourself to step outside of your comfort zone for necessary growth.

Étienne can be reached on Facebook: Étienne Asselin, on Instagram: Easselin_official , and by email: etienne@etienneasselin.com.

I absolutely enjoyed having this conversation with him and I really hope you'll dig it too.

Sincerely,

Em

These days, i’m more interested in how my head thinks and my heart feels.

Topics today include:

The importance of communicating preference
Admiration vs Conditional love
Self-worth

Cheers to my parents who are celebrating their 46th wedding anniversary!

In this episode, i’ll be mentioning some of the work I’ve been doing on myself that allows me to appreciate and them with all my heart. The main goal in recording this episode is to thank them for their unconditional love.

This episode is all about Intimacy - Rated G

Intimacy is a word that tends to have a sexual connotation, but that’s not all there is to it. Not to worry, I’m going to spare you the TMI earful. In fact, I’m not going to talk about what happens in the bedroom at all - that door is locked. ;-)
I’m still actively learning about intimacy because it’s something I’m really curious about. I’m discovering that it can be found in different types of relationships. For now, I want to talk about how I think intimacy can manifest itself in romantic relationships.

Thank you for listening!

Hi everyone! I’m so happy to welcome you to my podcast!
In this intro, I’d like to introduce myself and explain to you why I’ve decided to start a podcast.  I’ll let you know what you can expect from me on this podcast. I’m hoping many will be able to relate, as I’m just a girl, sharing her story. I am no expert.  I am simply stepping outside of my comfort zone and doing something for myself. I hope you will feel right at home.
