I came to find out after reaching out to Mike to be a guest that the pedal aspect of what he does is relatively recent and just the tip of the iceberg of all the things he's done in his life and what he continues to do. Mike has spent most of his life in music working for studios. Whether is was mixing, mastering, or engineering Mike as has so much experience working with musicians and bands in that space. This is a big one for me! Right when I was getting into instrumental music (2016) Marbin hit Facebook with a handful of viral hits such as "Redline" and "African Shaptay" and Marbin has been on my radar every since! Dani is once of the most the fun guitarist to watch and listen to! From is technical ability and knowledge of the instrument to his songwriting and emotion in his playing. This is the second time I've had to opportunity to talk to Dani, both times such a blast. We have a very freeform conversation here which is something I really enjoy but especially with a gust like Dani. John Tron Davidson loves picks or plectrums.... I like plectrums better. He runs Heavy Repping which is his shop, blog, reviews, demos, and more in depth knowledge of plectrums than you could imagine! On top of all of that Heavy Repping carries plectrums from so many awesome builders with one familiar face from the podcast.... Honey Picks! Johns passion for plectrums is only trumped by his ability to create an awesome community and bridge the gap between small builders and the customers. I had such a great time sitting down and nerding out on plectrums and social media. Rick Calhoun and his brother are the creators, designers, and builders for their company Honey Picks. Based out of North Carolina they make possibly the best picks on the market at the moment...... at least in my opinion. Not only are they super functional but they are truly a work of art. Lindy Day is a touring musician, a music educator, a social media influencer, and a super awesome person. I had a great time talking to Lindy all about her beginnings of playing in school bands and sneaking away with her sisters guitar all the way up to where she is today. You most likely know of Lindy from her lesson online but there's so much more to her teaching than just 60 second tiktok lesson. You can tell how passionate she is when it comes to teaching but it really comes through when she's teaching young aspiring musicians. I mean they are the future and I feel like Lindy is one of the best people for the job. We also get into how she had to pivot from touring to being online full time and some of the challenges with that immediate shift. All of this and so much more on this episode of Man The Helm!
