The church in Corinth did not understand this mission, and thus, they fell into the temptation to use and abuse the gifts they had been given by God for themselves. They were divided because they considered the man to be more important than the message. Let us not make the same mistake by actively pursuing unity of heart and mind as we serve the Lord together1 Corinthians 1:10, “Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same judgment.”

In this week's sermon Dr. Dan Brown preached from Isaiah 52:13. The Lord Jesus died a shameful death, but Isaiah foretells of a time when our Lord will be exalted and the ways it will occur.
Colossians 2:12 has had a controversial history in the discussion of baptism. Some Baptists would prefer not to discuss it, but Dr. Rathbun shows that the text is not to be avoided and is, in fact, a fantastic verse that contributes to the study of baptism.
Of all the disciples Jesus chose, Matthew, a tax collector among sinners, could be the most unlikely from man's perspective. Nevertheless, Jesus chose Matthew showing that He can accomplish anything with anyone who will yield to Him.
This week our guest speaker Brother Nathan Pelletier preached from 2 Corinthians 4 about the ministry Paul had. While Paul was undermined of his authority, he reminds the Corinthians that the validity and power of the message he preaches does not come from him but from God. With this truth remaining today, we too can have confidence as we participate in gospel witness despite our weakness, just as Paul did.
Life brings a great diversity of challenges, but Dr. Rathbun teaches us from Psalm 57 why and how we must adapt to become dependent on God in all circumstances.

We are a people who have been ministered to and have the answers to help others with their greatest need. Man, in attempting to do right, may have many ideas of what it means to be a Christ centered church, but Pastor Dean preaches through Colossians 1:9-29, showing us what the Bible itself says a Christ centered church should look like. By guiding us through the passage, Pastor Dean shows us the ways we may fix our spiritual gaze on Christ.
This Sunday Pastor Brown took us to 1 Cor 2:14-3:3 and expounded on the controversial issue of what a Christian’s sanctification should look like. How does a Christian living carnally discern the things of God. Meanwhile, he explained how one’s interpretation of this passage impacts how we view assurance.
On Mother’s Day Pastor Dean delivered a message on Psalm 18. In the Psalm David gives manifold descriptions about how the Lord is his protector and deliverer, and David’s response to the Lord’s deliverance teaches us how we can express our love to God.
Pastor Taylor reveals the “secret” ingredient to a prospering spiritual life—the Word of God. While wildly apparent to most that the Word of God is the catalyst to our spiritual growth, Pastor Taylor reveals the mighty power of God’s Word by reflecting on what it accomplished according to the Bible itself, and he also shows us how we too can have success in our spiritual life if we treat the Bible as the Thessalonians did—as God’s very words.
Our God is not like that of other religions. The God we worship completely saves by the gospel He designed from eternity past, and we can exalt Him because of the gospel, the living gospel which changes us and is available to all people.
How does Mary and the disciples respond when Jesus appears to them? Jesus is now at the right hand of God the Father interceding for us. He saves us and keeps us saved. Once save we can have a new relationship with God the Father.
Dark Days were destined. Much heartache for Mary.Jesus cried, "It is Finished" He is our sin-bearer, substitute, and sufficient sacrifice.
In remembrance of Palm Sunday, Pastor Brown takes us through a familiar but unexpected text. He shows us in Exodus 12 how Jesus Christ was our Passover Lamb who was examined and found worthy to be slain. Has Christ, like the Passover lambs of Israel, been applied to our souls and fully consumed?
Romans 15:14-33 gives us a disclosure into the heart of a missionary and his needs. From this passage Pastor Dean shows us how missionaries desire to take the gospel to places where Christ has not been named. We can be fellow workers with them if we humble ourselves to serve our missionaries by lending support through giving both money and other material good as well as urgent prayer support.
God’s plan to bring salvation to the world is far bigger than we can imagine. It includes people from every tongue tribe and nation. As a result, the Christian community is one of unity in diversity. Pastor Brown explains to us how the church can operate in unity with such an array of diversity.
Pray for wisdom in applying the truth of God’s Word to our lives.Sometimes we have to decide what to do in areas where the Bible doesn’t specifically tell us what is right or wrong. Christians may disagree about these areas. One question you can ask yourself when choosing what to do is, “Will my actions encourage another person to sin?” Can you think of some examples of an activity that is not prohibited in the Bible, but might unintentionally lead another person toward sin?

Our efforts are futile apart from Jesus, but when we recognize this, we can look to him who is able to help, accepting his invitation to warm fellowship, always in wonder of him. As we fellowship with Jesus, we affirm our imperfect but sincere love for him, and we learn how we can serve Jesus by yielding to his will, just like Peter who lived his life knowing what torturous death he would suffer.
God has united us by the mighty truth of the gospel, but within this unity, we may find certain aspects of the Christian life uncertain. In these areas we are to give deference to other Christians to obey their conscience and receive, that is, lovingly welcome such Christians. While doing this we must beware of the pitfalls or ride we may fall into whether we be weak or strong in conscience.
In a world overshadowed by darkness, it is our tendency to grow weary and slumber. Pastor Brown challenges us from Romans 13:11-15 to see our salvation as deliverance from this world's darkness into our future glorification with Jesus Christ. This we must do with a militant mindset as we put on Christ, who is the Light of the world, making no provision for the flesh but making every provision for Christ.
Many are well aware of our need to love one another. The Bible lays great emphasis on this, but sometimes, we are unaware of what it means to love. Pastor Dean explains from Romans 13 how we should see love from the perspective of a debt owed to all unconditionally to all. When we view love in this way, we will love all people for the sake of loving.
By our union we Christ we find ourselves in a union with others who have exercised saving faith in Christ. This calls for instruction on how to view and interact with them. In this sermon, Pastor Taylor helps us to see our need to adjust our focus of self by forsaking our comparison of self to others and remembering our place, making ourselves into servants for the church body.
In a world full of chaos and confusion, our wandering minds tend to forget what is most important in life. Pastor Taylor helps us by taking us back to the place called Calvary where the world passed by as our Savior was crucified. There at Calvary we see the love and wisdom of God set forth.
Decisions are things we all must make. Some are more significant than others. Some are more costly. We as Christians have been called to be a living sacrifice, and it is we who must decide if we will make the decisions for service and change that will result in abiding in that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.
In a world so full of empty hopes, we may find ourselves broken hearted. Anna, a character given only a few verses in the Bible, helps us to see what it looks like to have our hope set in God. She shows us that our hope is not found in the people of our lives or the vitality of life but in Israel’s Messiah whom we shall all make our boast in as Anna did.
God came restore us with grace, comfort, and fullness. Job was blessed when he endured. In Genesis 50:20 Joseph says,"But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. "The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982), Ge 50:20.
Along with Job, we can see that, although the trouble and turmoil of suffering weigh on our hearts, we must hold fast to a right view of God and man. There are many things we do not know, but we can rest assured that God has a plan for all things in our lives, including our hardships. When we embrace God's plan for our lives, we will afterward rejoice to see the change God will bring about in us.
The most important question in Job's experience was the one God asked him. The same question probes our hearts and reveals where we may have lost sight of God's purpose and how to regain it.
Friends can be helpful and encouraging during hard times, but they can also give misguided advice, as Job's friends did. The insufficiency of even the best of human friendships pushes us to find true wisdom through our relationship with God.
This message focuses on the experience of pain that leads to despair and how we can find answers for our pain in Jesus Christ.
Common circumstances of suffering and pain include loss of things we value, death of people we love, all kinds of bad news, and being disappointed by people we trust. These all test our faith. Job modeled for us how to respond to tests in a way that shows our faith to be genuine, valuable, and glorifying to God.
The adversary proactively endeavors to turn people from God and destroy their lives. Job's experience as the target of Satan's schemes helps us see God's greater power and purpose in our suffering and pain.
Hard feelings and fractured relationships are normal in our world, but not for Christians. This message explains the simple instructions given by the Lord Jesus Christ for overcoming sins and hurts with forgiveness and reconciliation. Luke 17:1-2
