St Teresa Community: Recent Episodes

St Teresa Community

St Teresa Community is a podcast dedicated to sharing the voice of our young Catholics. We will continue to cultivate conversations that will provide a voice and direction to not only our school community, but society. Each week, you will hear from the many voices of our community who will not only be sharing their personal favourite extracts from the Bible, but also offering their opinion on current events and how a young Catholic might chose to navigate through the most unprecedented of times. Join us for the conversations. Contact us: IG: @stteresacommunity

This podcast was originally recorded from back in March of this year, where the Catholic Church released it's Synod.

The Synod on Synodality is a two-year process that Pope Francis began last October. Officially known as "Synod 2021-2023: For a Synodal Church," it is a process that allows bishops to consult with Catholics - from parishioners all the way up to priests - in a spirit of collaboration and openness.

As a community, we looked at the questions presented to us and gave our reflections during our weekly St Teresa Community gathering. You will hear numerous voices of the community who discuss communion, participation and mission.

On this episode we discuss the newest Spider-Man movie, No Way Home. We relate the context of the film to the struggle of practicing our faith as Christians. It was wonderful to relate such modern day films to our own faith and how we can find Jesus everywhere we look.

Isaiah 43:16 Thus says the LORD, Who makes a way through the sea and a path through the mighty waters.

After nearly a year out from recording for this podcast, we are back! Having reflected on the blessing of being back together as a community, we thought that there would be no greater time than the present to begin recording. In this episode I am joined by our Head Girl, Stephanie and Head Boy, Joseph who are proudly part of our Community. We talk through the excitement of having the podcast back up and running and reflect on the importance of utilising this platform.

We are so looking forward to producing more episodes weekly and we are always keen to hear from the wider community. If you would like to get in touch with us, then please do not hesitate to use the following options:

In our first Episode, we invite our first two guests onto the podcast; Alex and Katharina to discuss the Gospel Value of Hope. We discuss how difficult it is to be a young Catholic in this ever-changing society and offer a voice of strategy on how we look to see hope everyday. Alex and Katharina share the Scripture Passages that have given them a direction of hope. The conversation develops to discussing how we bring hope into our lives every day and how, as a Community we look to spread hope in our school community.

Keep up with the conversation:

Conor O'Rourke gives a brief introduction to the St Teresa Community. We are so excited to be in the foundation stage of the development of this new podcast. As young, practicing Catholics, we will look to share our voice through our Christ Centered approach of service. Since we find ourselves in the midst of an extremely challenging moment in time, we are hoping to use this medium as an opportunity to reach-out to those in our wider community and share the Gospel through our interpretation and share our thoughts and strategies of how to persevere through this moment in time.
