Welcome back to the Ewe Space Podcast.  After a little break over the summer, Kiran Batool has taken over as the Lead Producer and Hannah has stepped back into a mentoring role.  This is great step for the podcast to be created entirely from within the Matson community!

GL Communities is launching a project to empower women and help overcome isolation.  For many women it's been a tough couple of years if they've been cut off from those around them.  She's Ready will offer a range of activities which will bring people together and help them engage with their communities.

As recently as the 1970s there were still some households without a phone.  Now, most people have one in their pocket.  But in the 21st Century there are still a lot of people without access to the internet and that can be a big handicap.  GL Communities is working to help people get connected.

GL Communities runs a unique project at the Gloucester motorway service station on the M5.  Our growing project is a collaboration between the charity and Westmoreland, which operates the services; Westmoreland is committed to supporting the area in which it is based by employing local people, sourcing produce from within a thirty mile radius and donating part of its profits to the community.

The Growing Project gives volunteers an opportunity to work outdoors and to nurture plants and food.
