Sometimes saying "Yes" takes you a long way in life.
My research agenda primarily focuses on physical activity as the cornerstone of chronic disease management and program implementation and evaluation. My current research agenda is focused on college students, workplaces, and underserved populations. As a chronic disease, particularly type 2 diabetes, the epidemic continues, it is a public health priority to develop translatable, community-based interventions that are easily disseminated and sustainable. As such, my research efforts focus on implementing and evaluating cost-effective, sustainable interventions.

Description:
I'm an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with a passion for education, both of clients and students. I have spent over 9 years lecturing and tutoring at the University level, in a wide range of exercise science and physiology units. Currently I am an Academic at Griffith University Gold Coast, with a primary role of running our Exercise Science practicum program.
When not working (and as much as possible even while working!), you'll find me barefoot. This is typically while I'm surfing, playing beach volleyball or at the beach with our furballs. My work has clearly taught me the importance of work-life balance and a healthy mental state, and I work to maintain this so I can best serve my students and clients. Even with a role teaching, I hope to always stay a student myself and never stop learning and challenging myself.
