Ever wanted to get to know your favourite bands? The aim of my podcast is to interview as many bands as I can in an informal way so that you get to know them as people. I'll be hosting a series of quizzes in order to find the cleverest band.
It seems like a while ago that these guys absolutely ripped M2TM Leicester a new one at Uprising!! Running With Knives (yes, their band name is bloody brilliant) talk about their journey to get to where they are now and what to expect when they play the New Blood stage, Bloodstock Festival Saturday 10th , a little birdie also told me they may even sneak in a new single in their set!
We had a real good chat on the roof of the 02 Leicester and these guys really do know how to have a good laugh, I was in hysterics quite a few times during our chat and so was anybody else listening in!
These midlands based musicians proudly describe themselves as metal with a cutting edge-Clever eh?!!
Be sure to check these guys out and if you are at Bloodstock Festival next weekend then they are an absolute must!!

Sunday night Breaking Bands 2024 headliners Stickmen closed the festival with a big party as voted for by the BBFest community, they really did not disappoint!
Breaking Bands has a band for everybody and these fun loving disco punks really did leave their mark, rumour has it the confetti is still in places we shall not talk about!!

Rock Against Child Pornography and Abuse
Is a registered charity working to give a voice to the silent victims of childhood abuse. The children of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
In a world where –
Children as young as 10 are being groomed by organised gangs and trafficked round the country as sexual commodities...Anyone with a computer and a webcam can create and distribute child pornography across the globe at the touch of a button...
Our aim is to break down that wall of silence, one brick at a time if that is how it must be done. The way we choose to do this is by making a noise, both online and in the real world. Standing up and letting those silenced victims know that they are not alone. That we listened and we heard them. That we will speak up on their behalf, by trying our best to make others understand the long term effects of being a victim of child pornography and sexual abuse, that one way or another an entire lifetime is spent dealing with those effects.
We offer a point of safe first contact for those victims, who may never have been able to talk to anyone about what happened to them, simply done their best to lead their lives as normally as possible. We have a fully qualified counsellor who works with victims in the way best suited to their needs and will do so for as long as the need is there, as well as referring on to other support agencies if required, this is done at no cost to those victims or their families.
Of course it is not just sexual abuse that scars lives and we stand up for ALL victims of abuse, be that physical, mental or emotional, for all those helpless victims who have never been able to tell anyone and for those who have tried and simply not been heard, understood or believed.
So how do we do this?
And while we are working on making things better for those already affected by this abuse, our long-term goal is to protect future generations from the dangers of sexual exploitation through education and information. To arm them with what they need to operate in a world where technology is a part of their everyday lives and should be safe for them to use without the fear of falling into the hands of an abuser.
Victims and survivors of abuse do NOT want pity, they want help, understanding and to be heard. Surely we can all do our absolute best to give then that.

This band were arguably one of THE CLEVEREST bands that I've ever had the pleasure of interviewing on my podcast.
It's always an honour to catch up with them and they are definitely a band that are on to BIG things, they have a wonderful fan base and its hardly any surprise because the way they engage and look after them is second to none.
Nico is one of the only singers I know that can reduce the audience to tears in record time and then gets them rocking out straight after, incredible.
Make sure you support his podcast The Tiny Bookcase, I promise you it is very addictive!!

I had the pleasure of chatting to JAYLER at Breaking Bands.
JAYLER are a hard hitting energetic young rock band from the Midlands that produce a full on energetic rock set that always leaves the crowd screaming for more.
It took me ages to get to these guys, I had to contend with their never ending merch queue and plethora of fans flocking round them. Hardly surprising though? They are such lovely, humble guys and I overheard many people say that they were their favourite band of the festival-What an achievement!!
Relatively newish onto the music scene, they have certainly established a place on many festival line ups and recently even supporting Kira Mac on their recent tour.
We chatted about their experience so far and the fun they are having, I could have chatted to them all day but they had to get back to their adoring fans, whose ages ranged from young children to the elderly.
I can't wait to catch up with these guys in a few months to see where they are up to, the Skys the limit and the worlds your oyster, if you haven't already checked these guys out then please do!!

I caught up with Voidwalker exactly a year ago when they won Metal2The Masses @ Uprising.
What a year it has been for them, they released their latest album The Slow Decay in March and if you haven't already checked it out then you absolutely must!
There's so much still to come for this band and its lovely to see their hard work paying off.
As always they were very excited to take part in my general knowledge quiz, these were one of, if not THE cleverest band from Uprising last year, have a listen to see how they got on.

I caught up with Ashen Reach a year or so back and it's so heartwarming to see how well they are doing, homecoming is still to this day one of my favourite albums... A deffo must for a road trip, but a word of warning...you might struggle to stay within the speed limits.
Hearing them say that our first was one of their all time favourites after this long really is so lovely to hear, what an honour.
Our last chat was pushing nearly 2 hours as I just couldn't get enough of these friendly Liverpudlians.
They are continuing to dominate the grass roots music scene and it's really refreshing to see their name on many a festival line ups... Long may it continue.
This episode comes with a warning though, beware because it will be impossible to keep a straight face whilst we navigate what life is like in our brains.
If you haven't already then go and check them out, truly wonderful musicians and absolutely wholesome human beings.

I had the pleasure chatting to Jukebox Monkey, or Jukebox Monks as I affectionately referred to them as. Slugfest was awesome and I'm so glad I didn't end up in The Dog House by the end of the night!!
We chatted about them being accident prone, being cold because they are from "Daaaaaan South" Great tattoo's and comparing members to Feral Cats!
We had a fantastic chat and it was great to get to know this new band I discovered!
My mum Sue would even approve of their music and that's a MASSIVE compliment!
Self described as Stoner/Alt Metal / Grunge / Rock this band sound great and are extremely personable and I thoroughly enjoyed chatting to them! Their latest album ‘Smiles Becoming Teeth’ is available to download/buy now!

Isn't it amazing who you come across after a night out, especially after rolling out of my kebab house Taabish on route to "BIG Tesco"- Cheers for the 3 hours free parking!!!
Queen Cult were off to get their late night snacky snacks after supporting CAMENS at their album launch show up at The Sugarmill Up Hanley Duck, and in true Jo style I couldn't resist a quick chat.
I think we covered quite a lot in the few years we walked and talked en route to Tesco! Cheers to my ever patient partner Alex for keeping the kebabs safe!
Queen Cult are from Macclesfield, also known as "Treacle Town" which refers to an historical incident when a horse-drawn wagon overturned and spilt its load of treacle onto the street, after which the poor scooped the treacle off the road.
Opening the year at a sold out Sapphic Sounds in London, 2024 promises to be a huge year for them. In March they hit the road as main support for Fort Hope playing in eight cities across the UK, off the back of releasing their latest single Be Better. Punk rage filled aggression, Be Better marks a real tempo change for the band and with so many directions they can head it certainly opens up many avenues. This is the first single since last year’s Sneaky Freaque which was co-produced with Stoke legend Sam Bloor, it certainly sets out Queen Cult’s intention for the year.
2024 is going to be a whopper of a year for them, please go and check them out!

Last year my best friend Kevin was fitted with a pacemaker after having multiple blackout episodes, thanks to the fantastic work of our NHS he is still with us today.
We all know someone who has lost someone, is living with a heart condition, not everyone knows they have one until they have a check up so its important to keep up with routine GP visits and if you have felt a little different than normal then make sure you go and seek medical advice.
Kevin and his group of trusty friends including me of course will be walking from Leek Town FC to Rudyard Lake Sunday 30th June in order to raise money for The British Heart Foundation and the upkeep of the in-house defibrillators at Leek Town FC.
If you wan't to join us then you are more than welcome to do so, you'll have good company that's for sure!!
Heart and circulatory diseases is the umbrella term for all diseases of the heart and circulation. It includes everything from conditions that are inherited or that a person is born with, to those that develop later, such as coronary heart disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, stroke and vascular dementia.
• There are around 7.6 million people living with heart and circulatory diseases in the UK -
an ageing and growing population and improved survival rates from heart and circulatory events could see these numbers rise still further.
• Around 4 million males and 3.6 million females are living with heart and circulatory diseases in the UK.
• We estimate that in the UK more than half of us will get a heart or circulatory condition in our lifetime.
• Around twice as many people are living with heart and circulatory diseases in the UK than with cancer and Alzheimer’s disease combined.
• Heart and circulatory diseases cause around a quarter (27 per cent) of all deaths in the UK; that's more than 170,000 deaths a year, or 480 each day – one every three minutes.
• Around 49,000 people under the age of 75 in the UK die from heart and circulatory diseases each year.
• Since the BHF was established the annual number of deaths from heart and circulatory diseases in the UK has fallen by nearly half.
• In 1961, more than half of all deaths in the UK were attributed to heart and circulatory diseases (320,000 deaths).

Sludgefest Stafford headliners Eschalon really did not disappoint! Simon Garrod and his band of brothers ALWAYS put on such a wonderful show wherever they play.
The wealth of experience they have between them really comes to fruition during each performance, their wealth of knowledge that they have gained over the years they are not afraid to share and encourage newer, younger bands.

Hailing from the Scottish Borders are a band called Razor Sharp Death Blizzard! Forged from the molten steel remnants of RIDGEBACK and SWELLYBELLYS🔥This band come with a warning though, they contain copious amounts of PUNK ETHOS and METAL RIFFS throughout and if you get too close they will melt your face off, these guys certainly know how to bring the party!
I had the pleasure of catching up with them at The Doghouse in Stafford which hosted the annual Sludgefest and sludge it was, the riffs were that dirty I needed a couple of showers just to feel clean afterwards!
It contained so much doom that I needed a few therapy sessions afterwards.
These guys certainly know how to party, they definitely know how to put on a show as well, see how they got on in my famous general knowledge quiz, have a listen to our chat and who knows you may even have just found yourself your new favourite and cleverest band!

I had the pleasure of chatting to Epimetheus, a Bristol based Doom/Shoegaze band. If you've listened to them then you'd definitely understand this compliment that was given to them “You guys make an awful lot of noise for a three piece”
I couldn't believe the way their music transported me to a different dimension, I forgot about everything else in the world and was hypnotised by their music.
In fact every band on the line up complimented them on their show- we all thoroughly enjoyed being exposed to this wonderful band. I wasn't familiar with them before I saw them but I definitely now class myself as a fan, I loved them!

The beauty of hometown gigs is that you will always find a band that you've not come across before, prime example here with Smother.hc
It's not very often that me and my manager Tammy go out together but we had a fantastic night covering the M2TM heat at The Underground.
Little did they know that less than 3 hours later, these guys would have won their heat.
So many talented musicians, from different walks of life have formed this energetic outfit.
Although they haven't actually got any music recorded yet, they are in the process of doing so but YOU HAVE MY WORD that these guys are bloody awesome!!
I look forward to following your progress and I wish you all the best on your journey to Bloodstock!

I had the pleasure of chatting to this wonderful West Midlands based band, Mystiek at the M2TM heat #2 at The Underground, Stoke.
What a ride it has been for these guys, not only was it a debut performance for one of the new band members, it was also a big gig in terms of prizes, for those of you not familiar with M2TM, its competition where bands battle it out with one end product...To play Bloodstock Festivals 'New Blood Stage'.
Hailing from Wolverhampton, this four piece band take inspiration from the likes of Deftones, Pantera and Alice in Chains, combining these with each member's distinct styles and backgrounds for a varied and diverse sound.
The band maintains their sonic edge live, with high energy performances and strong stage presence to command their audience's attention. Their dynamic sets and bold visuals have led to them opening for the likes of Wayward Sons, Piston and playing at venues such as the O2 institute and KK's Steelmill.

I had the absolute pleasure chatting to Jason Evans frontman of the band INGESTED. His friendly and down to earth ways, certainly put me at ease straight away and it was like I'd known him years. Once he gets on stage this changes, he becomes this terrifying monstrous figure with the ability to have you mesmerised by the sounds produced by his vocal cords, many of us only dream to be able to do so.
UK death metallers INGESTED released their latest single, “Pantheon,” upon the masses. The brutalizing new hymn comes by way of the band’s latest full-length, The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams, set for release on April 5th via Metal Blade Records
Since their fifth album, 2020’s Where Only God May Tread, INGESTED has been on a creative tear that has produced almost a full record every year, each displaying the kind of musical growth that only comes from constantly practicing, playing, and writing. The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams, is not only as innovative and brutal as their last disc -- the bleak, firestorm Ashes Lie Still -- it showcases a band willing to expand its creativity without sacrificing the ferocity that made it one of the most impressively destructive, technical death metal bands on the scene. The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams is proof that once INGESTED sniffs out a trail of musical blood, they ravenously follow it until they’ve uncovered a festering feast.
Whether pummeling listeners with double-bass rolls, blast-beats, and grinding rhythm; breaking it all down with jagged, staggered riffs, and piercing harmonics; or flooding the mix with rapid-fire bursts of minor key melodies, INGESTED has injected all of their experience, skill, and artistry into ten trenchant new tracks. New single, “Pantheon,” in particular, is a scorching conglomeration of alternating tempos, abrupt rhythm shifts and devastating guitar grind between staccato midsections.
Fresh off the back of their tour with Lorna Shore, they embark on their HEADLINE EUROPEAN TOUR 2024. Taking with them Special Guests: FALLUJAH, VULVODYNIA & MÉLANCOLIA. It kicks off on 17.04.24 in the UK at The Fleece in Bristol!
On 20.04.24 they will be playing an extra special show in their hometown of Manchester @ Rebellion, what a night this will be!!
We chatted about the highs and lows of a career in music, the decision to go full time in the band, snow storms on tour, Oasis of course and lots more.

I first met Darla Jade many years ago when she was busking by the big blue clock in Hanley (IYKYK) it was the place to be back then. This purple loving electro-pop artist is taking the world by storm, her catchy, relatable lyrics just pull you in and for me when I first heard her had me in a trance like state, almost hypnotising me...I had places to be, errands to run but I just couldn't escape, a good 20 minutes I stood and watched in awe as her unique style danced delicately in the warm summer breeze .
Having just supported Dizzee Rascal on his album launch party in her home town of Stoke-On-Trent, she was buzzing to chat to me and tell me all about it and her journey into music.
I mean it's not everyday your music ends up on TV programmes such as TOWIE and Love Island, well these are just a few of the many things she has achieved.
She has also been featured for live sessions at Maida Vale for BBC Introducing.
Her single 'Backseat Driver' gained recognition on BBC Radio 1 and Spotify playlists like 'New Music Friday UK.' In 2022, her track 'Stories On The TV' was BBC Introducing Track of The Week, and she released her EP 'Only The Paranoid Survive.'
Darla has performed at key events, supported acts like The Ninth Wave and Lucy Spraggan, collaborated with artists including BlOND:ISH, and won Amazon's 'Breakthrough Booth' at The Great Escape.
A truly wholesome human being, that has so much talent.. keep your eyes peeled and ears open for Darla Jade and hopefully we will see her name on many festivals up and down the country, I have no doubt that at some point she will be playing Glastonbury!!

It's always a special moment when you discover a fantastic band that has written such a catchy song, that no matter how hard you try you just cant get it out of your head.
Well CLKWRK have done just that, their track Hold On which is featured at the end of this episode is the definition of an earworm and will dominate your headspace!
I go back years with the powerhouse singer/guitarist, waistcoat wearing frontman, just a few few of Nick Pilgrims many talents and i'm so happy to see him and his band doing so well.
Whilst many other bands that were around from our childhood have since evaporated from the music scene, Nick is here and he's paving the way for our up and coming bands.
Having toured with Electric Six and played many high caliber of shows, CLKWRK mean buisness and now they have their debut EP out real soon…Shadows & Silhouettes which is out in April!!
In this hour long special, we went way back to the early days of Nick, Adam and Romus' musical journey, the good, the bad and the ugly times especially when Adam ruptured his arsehole whilst on tour. They talked me through the fun on the road touring so early on in their bands career, mishaps and many other fun stuff thats happened to them over the years. Adam even showed me his treasure chest of out of date tour beers and he wasn't afraid of wetting his whistle with one, which reminds me i should really do a welfare check to see how he is and whether he's survived.
They even took part in my famous general knowledge quiz, it is tradition after all!!

Do you all remember Staceys Mom? Well those familiar with this song would know that this ear worm was a very popular song back in the early 00's, it was nominated for not 1 but 2 Grammys and they even managed to bag a No 1 video (I wonder why? Staceys mom was hoooooot!) It was sung by American rock band Fountains of Wayne for which Jody Porter was the lead guitarist.
He has also been in bands such as "The Belltower" and "The Astrojet" back in the day, this man has a wealth of talent and I was honoured to chat to him.
A lot has happened between now and then, In 2008 Jody finished work on his debut solo album, Close to the Sun. The 12-song album bridges the gap between the sonic atmospheric stylings of the Belltower and the guitar-driven power pop of Fountains of Wayne.
His second solo album, Month of Mondays, was successfully funded via Kickstarter in 2013 and in December 2020, Porter released his third studio album Waterways.
He then released EP1 in summer 2023 and we now eagerly await his most recent album EP2 which is due to be released in October!!
We chatted about his veteran years in the music scene, he took me on his personal journey throughout his career, the good, the bad, the ugly!
We even joked about getting Staceys Mom back in the charts?
Who's up for it then?

Back in April 23' I caught up with Nutzie Shelley who is the powerhouse behind the vocals in Broken Jaw.
We chatted about all things music, bands, festivals and I even finished with one of my favourite mini quizzes!
Obviously this is part 1 and it feels like AGEES since we last spoke!
They have just signed with Marshall records so Part 2 will definitely be on the cards and I would absolutely love to have a catch up with Nutzie and the rest of the band, all their hard work is paying off and they are certainly flying the flag for our up and coming bands!

You know when people are described a bit like Marmite, you either love them or you hate them?
Well Matt Jones is the Marmite of the music scene. Fortunately for him, I and a lot of others think he's awesome.
Opinionated, tick. Very talented musician, tick. A great laugh and an all round great person to be around, tick!!
If you are lucky enough to be called one of his friends then that comes with a whole lot of loyalty, this man would travel the length of the earth to ensure his friends are ok!
We talked about issues plaguing the music scene, the fun we have had at various festivals over the years and his success with his band Twisted Illusion and his cover bands.
Metal Health features strongly on my podcast and like many others Matt has battled with his own over the years, thankfully he is still here with us today to talk about it.
Hope you enjoy this episode and I hope it allows you to get to know him on a personal level rather than behind one of his opinionated social media posts!
P.S As promised the artwork on this episode is the exact moment where Matt discovered a random welly in a plastic shitter haha

I had the pleasure of chatting tho the lads in one of the hottest up and coming bands on the metal scene IMPERIUM!
When I first met these guys at an awards ceremony not only did they more or less leave with an award from every category they were entered into, I honestly thought they were trying to sell me a yacht.
I couldn't work out by their dapper jackets whether they had just ran off from a wedding or whether they were actual yacht sales men!!
Still to this day we laugh about that!
Not only are these guys INCREDIBLY talented but they are a damn good laugh and great company, in fact if I was ever stranded on a desert island I'd deffo choose these to come and keep me entertained!
Their 10 date tour kicks off at the end of March where they play alongside ACID REIGN and various other fantastic bands.
We chatted about the struggles of balancing time whilst being a new dad (Congrats Hardip- Asher is truly scrumptious)
Most importantly we had a damn good laugh, this episode will leave you laughing for days!
I've got such a soft spot for these Landaners (shit attempt of a cockney twang there)
Please go and check them out, they have my full seal of approval and I am extremely excited to see what this year has in store for them!!!

There's not many bands that get to spend two nights in a row with me, but I enjoyed Stone Angels company so much I had to make it happen!
I chatted with James, lead guitarist for the band Stone Angels who talked me through the bands journey, their plans for the future and the origins behind their much anticipated second album, "Up In Smoke" which I can excitedly reveal will be released March 22nd!
This album really hits different, not only is it produced by an amazing multi platinum producer Mike Krompass, it has a real personal meaning behind the album cover.
James was involved in a devastating fire in his house whilst he was inside, luckily he made it out alive and is here in all his glory to tell us the tale.
James is a huge fan of Massive Wagons and even planned his trip abroad to watch them overseas-Now that is dedication.
Have a listen to our wonderful chat and get to know the band on a personal level, their exciting plans and what's in store in 2024!!

Ryder is a four-piece, hard rock band hailing from Queens, New York. Formed in 2016, the group has left its mark throughout North America before being signed in 2021 by UK-based record label, Bad Monkey Records.
Ryder utilizes their brand of natural classic rock vibes, to throw down in front of a modern crowd. Lead singer & guitarist, James Ryder, reminds us what determination, passion, and the spirit of rock means. James' vocals are capricious and ungovernable, while his Guitar skills are classically hard. Erik Unkrich's effortlessly deep, thunderous Bass tones resonate with audiences. Billy Smith fuses precision with rebellion on drums to create a monstrous, bombastic sound. Guitarist, Andrew Bloch, rounds out the band by weaving long-sought, magically untouched, musical threads that turn Ryder into a single unifying force of pure molten rock. Ryder gives their all to live audiences with their authentically heavy sound. Ryder has played at some of the most iconic venues in the United States like LA's Whiskey A-Go-Go, NY's Gramercy Theater, NJ's Wellmont Theater, and the 2018 & 2019 Rocklahoma Festival.
The group leaves a lasting impression on these audiences, with music that leaves you wanting more. Ryder is set to bring back the nostalgic memories that only rock concerts provide. With a mix of modern and classic rock vibes, Ryder takes their live concerts to the next level. The group's style pays respect to bands prior. National acts like Thin Lizzy, Aerosmith, and Black Sabbath, inspire Ryder's vibe while incorporating their own modern twists. Ryder's first EP, What It's Worth, released in 2018, is live compilation of original songs, that showcase the member's natural abilities. The group's first studio album, Killer Karma, came to life at Obscenic Arts Studio in Dillsburg, PA with Anthony Esposito (Lynch Mob/Ace Frehley/Red Dragon Cartel) at the helm. Released in August 2020, it has already caught the attention of fans across the world with its classic yet contemporary sound.
Killer Karma fills the gap of what's been sorely missed in the hard rock scene lately. In 2022, Ryder released the single, Lilan's Lullaby, which has received over 300,000 views on YouTube. Ryder followed up by releasing Don't Think Twice, an EP, the same year (2022). Don't Think Twice showcases the group's next evolution in sound. These tracks bring back those classic hard rocking vibes with depth and a darker tone. Currently, Ryder is writing their next full-length album, sure to shake up the industry with their radiating, hard-hitting, works of art. In addition, this foursome recently released their new LIVE album, in commemoration of the 5th anniversary of their first live album release.

7 Year War, I have followed this band for a few years now, I've had the pleasure of watching them grow and my word have they flourished into absolutely awesome musicians.
I've been known to interview these from a multitude of different places, Sam was in his car this time and Cass was at home in his music dungeon.
I am honoured that they wanted to make this exclusive gig announcement on my show and I know you are dying to find out what it is...I'm not telling you either, you'll have to listen to this episode to find out what it is!!!
The world literally is their oyster and the sky is the limit, these guys are hungry for progression and based on the last track they released "Fallen Angel" we are left chomping at the bit wanting more!!
Have a listen to our chat where they did a great job at trying to kid me in the fact that they didn't have an announcement to even make.....

I had a wonderful time chatting to The Now about their journey so far and what else we can expect from them in the next year, we chatted about their new album and had some hilarious moments where Will discovered how to set fireworks off over Zoom and he certainly kept me and Shane entertained. I even had a sneak peek of a rather funny tattoo, listen to our chat to see what animal is on the tattoo and which body part its located on!
Hailing from South Wales UK, these energetic 4 piece The Now are proud to announce their much awaited and highly dynamic debut album ‘Too Hot To Handle’ for release March 1 on CD/vinyl and all digital platforms via Trew Music.“We’ve been really inspired by some of the brave stories told by people who have suffered from mental health.” Opening up the charismatic and engaging frontman Shane Callaghan says of the theme of the title track, “We all read some remarkable stories during men’s mental health week and still continue to read about the stresses that people can come under and we thought there’d be nothing better than writing a song about it and pulling in a collection of our experiences and stories in life so far across our debut.”
Their hooky, instantly relatable music has been featured as a Planet Rock Track of The Week, on ITV, BBC Radio 2 Johnnie Walker Show, Sky Sports to name a few. The stunning debut was recorded at the highly renowned Real World Studios and produced by Grammy Award winning Oli Jacobs, (Peter Gabriel, The 1975).
Having supported Reef, Florence Black and shared the stage with legends in Placebo, Noel Gallagher, Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes, in addition to a rapturous reception at The Isle of Wight Festival and a fantastic ovation at Planet Rockstock they are on a mission to leave no head left unturned. The year ahead holds in store their headline album launch show at O2 Academy 2 Islington March 7 with tickets on sale HERE and a local appearance at Station 18 Festival, Hangar 18 Music Venue Swansea with more shows, festivals and ventures to Europe to be announced.
Please check this band out and if you can make it please head on down to their album launch party, it's gonna be pretty awesome!

I had the honour of chatting to Blue Nations very own super fans at Dead Wax prior to their Reflections EP launch in Birmingham, affectionately known as the "Blue Meanies"
Jill had very kindly organised this well attended meet up before we all piled over to The Crossing Digbeth where Blue Nation were about to blow the roof off. Walking into the pub I was met with such warmth, Echoes was blasting out from the jukebox and the place was littered with Blue Nation T-Shirts, I knew I was safe and I knew I immediately fitted in.
It was lovely chatting and getting to know their die hard fans, some of which had supported the lads for 10 years and more, people travelled in their droves from far and wide to attend this spectacular show and its testament to the Blue Nation boys because they are agreeably some of the nicest, genuine, kindest humans on this earth not to mention super, super talented yet so humble.
Its no secret that this band means so much to me and their music has got me through many a bad time in my life, their soft soothing melodies are like cuddles in your ears and there's no better pairing in my opinion than a brew and a bit of Blue Nation in the background. Advocates of supporting mental health like my self, I just want to take this opportunity to thank them for all their kindness and generosity that they give.
I hope you like getting to know some of their most loyal fans, I certainly did it truly was an honour to meet you all.

I had the pleasure of chatting to Lena Scissorhands, the powerhouse behind the vocals and one of the original founding members of the Moldovian Metal band INFECTED RAIN.
We chatted about the importance of working hard in the music industry, learning from past experiences and the positive effects music has on your mental health. We reflected on our personal journeys during the COVID-19 pandemic, how we battled through the loneliness we faced and also gave thanks to each and every key worker that helped to keep us safe and provided essential services to keep the world turning. Lena Scissorhands mentioned that she would love to play alongside HACKTIVIST, what a line up that would be. I absolutely loved chatting to her and learnt so much from this wonderful lady! I just wish I looked half as good as she does, I love her unique style!
We even got a little bit nerdy and at one point Pickett The Bowtruckle from Fantastic Beasts even made a guest appearance on her most prized possession her money tree which we affectionately named Michaela!
INFECTED RAIN have just released their sixth album on February 9th calledTIME. Described by the multinational band as “an homage to every fleeting second, every heartbeat, and every breath that has led us to this moment”
TIME, takes you on a musical journey with effectively-placed progressive, electronic and even nu-metal features amid ethereal passages.
Track number one “BECAUSE I LET YOU” bursts in with undeniable energy, boasting aggressive lyrics and Lena Scissorhands’ swift, menacing delivery.
TIME ends in a state of calm with ambient finisher “A SECOND OR A THOUSAND YEARS” - drawing the curtains closed on yet another fantastic, experimental expedition by rising stars INFECTED RAIN.
A firm favourite of mine is their track called "LIGHTHOUSE" and this is what the band themselves have to say about the track
From the shores of our minds to the reality of our lives, ‘LIGHTHOUSE’ represents a power that we hold inside of us. This track reminds us that the universe dances to the rhythm of our thoughts. All our thoughts are waves in the endless galaxy of creation. It‘s a call to stay strong, to remain devoted to your dreams, and to realize the potential of what you can create. In the grand clockwork of TIME, every second is a chance to surf through your reality, shaping it with the power of your mind. Join us on this journey through TIME, where each song is a tick towards a reality crafted by you, for you.
Having played alongside bands such as Butcher Babies, Wednesday 13 and a plethora of other bands they really are heading to orbit thee music scene!
Their tour supporting Dragonforce and Amaranthe kicks off at the end of this month in Germany so be sure to try and get to see them, you are in for a real treat!

I had the pleasure of chatting to Bedrord Alt Rock Trio, The Tarrows.
I you like a twist of 70s rock n roll, then this is the band for you.
Heavily influenced by chourusy American indie music like Mac Demarco and Peach Pit.
Other influences include; Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, The Velvet Underground, Joy Division, Johnny Goth, Told Slant and Fox Academy.
All of which become clear as you listen to their catchy melodies.
Once you've listened to one of their tracks you'll be left wanting more, even my mum likes their music....thats a huge compliment!!
Their latest single "While She Weeps" released September 2023, went down an absolute storm and since then have had a plethora of high profile gigs!

I had the pleasure of chatting to Archvile a shy unforgiving black metal band lurking in the depths of Norfolk!
Archvile, originally formed in 2013 and reimagined in 2022 by founding member Jae Hadley on vocals/drums and guitarist/lyricist Mikey Wil-Co. Combining the traditional D.I.Y. values of Black Metal, while adding dissonance and a truly stifling atmosphere.
We chatted about lots of things, their projects and their latest EP "Perpetuate The Cycle" which represents the cyclical nature of life and death, and how it becomes more and more apparent that our function is only to continue, no matter how devoid of meaning we become as a species. The future is in motion like an absurdist cinema, embrace the chaos that surrounds you.
Considering they weren't au fait with the meeting software Zoom, they did really well and got full marks for testing the link beforehand, turning up on time and having clear audio, that in itself is my battle won. I thought they were really professional and especially finding out we were Birthday Twins and Gap teeth twins!
As always I gave Vocalzone a huge shout out, lots of musicians out there can vouch for how much of a difference they make to your voice.
Bloodstock is on their radar and Camden Underworld, there's so many places these guys wanna play, bands hit them up and be sure to go and check them out and give their new EP a listen.

It was an honour to chat to Michael Copeland A.KA "FRIDGE MAN" live from the Peak District in his camper van with his lovely wife Lucy, we chatted about his reasons behind wearing the fridge, how the burden of mental health changes over time depending on how empty or full we feel. Opening up many of us find the hardest but I promise you, whatever you are going through right now you are not alone.
He is taking on a world record attempt challenge aiming to be the first man in history to climb Kilimanjaro... with a fridge on his back, all to raise money for North Staffs Mind and awareness for mental health issues.

Their name scribbled on posters around the city, if you haven't booked these guys to play then you really need to be asking the question WHY?
Melodic, Entertaining and Heavy! Their goals to be different from the other original metal bands. Aiming to put something out there you wont hear anywhere else. Meliora a 5 piece metal band from Staffordshire. Starting as a Rock band they quickly decided we wanted to take on the metal scene. Their newest releases being Elaboration, Mistake and TPOCCY quickly gaining local popularity. They are looking to expand and push their music further out into the UK and beyond. Headline or support we put on the best show we can. With more music coming soon!

Disability services at IMPACT Community Gym
Don't DIS my ABILITY!!
Exercise is daunting at the best of times, even when you are able bodied and takes a great deal of confidence to make the first move into joining a gym. I popped down to IMPACT Community Gym, Brocksford Street, Fenton I'd heard nothing but fantastic things about this place so wanted to experience it for myself!
Upon entering I was made to feel welcome, no one staring at you, just friendly welcoming smiles, a warmth and straight away I felt accepted and part of the team. I had the opportunity to meet some of Jacqui's clients and the stories I was told about just how far these incredible people had come really brought a tear to my eye, we all know how your life can change in a second BUT angels like Jacqui and her team are here for you to get you back on your feet and achieve goals you never thought possible.
1 in 5 people in England have a long-standing limiting disability or illness and you're twice as likely to be physically inactive if you have a disability. There's no single answer to addressing this, but understanding the barriers to participation is key. This is where IMPACT really have gone above and beyond to ensure that anybody who steps foot in their gym will be fully supported, be pushed and driven to achieving their goals in a safe environment.
They have their own disability department within the gym. They cater for all chronic ilnesses, disabilities including learning disabilities, head/brain injuries, MS, everyone is welcome to join either for a fitness session or a full day opportunities with life skills and personal development all in the package.
The motion therapy room at Impact Community Gym is an ideal way to keep mobile, the motorised machines are suitable for most disabilities including MS, Fibromyalgia, stroke and brain injuries or just as a stepping stone to using the general gym, these machines really are wonderful especially if the thought of using gym machinery scares you.
If you are reading this and have really wanted to exercise but don't know where to start then head on down to their gym in Fenton where you'll be warmly welcomed, I guess the rest will be history.
Here's where we need your help!! The more people that turn up to show their support the better!!
A 5k walk (3 laps of Westport Lake) will take place on April 28th to raise money for this wonderful gym and help survivors like Cobi maximise their recovery!
Cobi is the suvivor of a traffic accident, he was a passenger in a car that was involved in a major Collision . He sustained catastrophic injuries to both his head and body, he has had to relearn all of his skills again including walking that is why this is an amazing target for him. He is raising funds for a stair master for his fitness and rehabilitation department at Impact Community Gym please kindly donate to this cause to help not only Cobi but all that use the Disability department.

I had the very pleasure of chatting to One Last Day, a modern hard rock band from the south of England!
They have exploded into the music scene and if you listen to their well written single "Stay Away From Me" which was released in March last year, you'd have thought they had been around for quite some time, this single was then followed by "No Chemical" in November, another exceptional work of lyrical art.
We are now only weeks away from the release of their next single, "It's A Sin (Don't Give Up)" which will be released on 9th February 2024!
They already have so many shows booked for this year and will be hitting the road with the amazing Pistols At Dawn, playing at Anvil Rockbar Bournemouth, Exchange Bristol, The Hobbit Pub Southampton, The Cobblestones Bridgwater and Facebar Reading. Eulogy will also be joining for 4/5 of the shows along with some great support acts for each show!

I had the EXCLUSIVE honour of chatting to Anna Brunner (League of Distortion) and Marina La Torraca (Phantom Elite) Exit Eden (one of my all time favourite bands) on their release day of Femmes Fatales a masterpiece of an album!
We chatted about bargain buys that feature in their music video, how to achieve a fierce look on a budget, we also concentrated on self worth and how to get the most out of the world by empowering yourself and others within the industry.
3 Musicians from 3 different countries with 3 entirely different biographies, yet all stemming from the world of Rock, now united in one band: EXIT EDEN!
After releasing Rhapsodies in Black, in summer 2017, it became immediately clear that this combination would be powerful and magical alike! With their debut entering the German album charts at #15 and rocking the stage at the legendary Wacken Open Air, these four outstanding and independent female vocalists proved how symphonic heaviness can go hand in hand with pop music - dressing well-known classics in a yet unheard soundscape, evoking more than just a cover album! Now, more than six years later, EXIT EDEN are back to mesmerize audiences with their second offering, illustrating strength and female empowerment while appropriately entitled Femmes Fatales.
EXIT EDEN’s new masterpiece refers to the “femme fatale” as a symbol of women taking control of their own narratives with autonomy, intelligence, and independence and finding back the pure feminine energy in the world.
The all-female 3 piece group unites all attributes ascribed to the new millennium: cosmopolitan, self-confident, independent and ready to do their very own thing. Despite their diversity, the 3 singers Clémentine Delauney, Marina La Torraca and Anna Brunner blend together personally as superbly as they do vocally with their very diverse vocal tones and techniques that go from opera style to raspy rock. This constellation created extraordinary and powerful ideas and it became their unique plan to raise EXIT EDEN’s very own edge: to show the world that almost every classic song can be transformed into a solid metal-rock song.
If you haven't already then go and check them out, I promise you that once you start listening to them you'll be hooked!!

I had the absolute pleasure of chatting to Emilia Maciolek, most of you may or may not know that she is the drummer in a band called Eliminate The Middle Class, she also studies music at BIMM and is also one of the promoters at The Devils Dog, Digbeth- One of Birminghams most celebrated music venues!
We talked about lots of stuff including bucket list bands that Emilia would like to book at The Devils Dog..one of which includes the band Monuments! She told me how you can contact her and welcomes contact from any band that would like to play at this iconic venue. She also let me know about the best place to park in Birmingham if you are attending The Devils Dog, because if you are anything like me I ALWAYS stress about where to park in big cities.
She talked me through her journey into music and I had a wonderful time learning about this talented young lady! Keep up the good work, I'm rooting for you!

I had the pleasure of chatting to alt-pop-punk good time rockers Skinny Knowledge who not long ago unleashed their forward-striking and sing-along song packed new album ‘twentytwo.’
Frontman and guitarist Andy L Smooth enthuses, “This is a journal of my life through 2022. I’ve always written songs that are honest, and come from real experiences, no fictional writing. Every word I sing is a true story, and real feelings that I’ve been through. This album is no exception.”
I dare you to play one of their songs and stay still? I bet you can't, a few seconds in and I was nodding my head and tapping along to the feel-good opening anthem ‘I Wanna (Rock N’ Roll’)’!
Based on the South coast this dynamic 4 piece are set to dominate the music scene. Their tracks wouldn't sound out of place on the Tony Hawks game playlist and they definitely take me back to my teenage years!
Fans of Planet Rock, Kerrang!, Classic Rock Magazine, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, Emerging Rock Bands listen out because they often feature on these platforms. They have brought their effervescent live show to various venues and festivals including Teddy Rocksand the inaugural Maid of Stone in Kent to a packed out marquee stage.
Early 2024 sees them in their London debut as special guests to highly acclaimed blues rocker Jack J Hutchinson at O2 Academy 2 Islington, tickets are on sale now. 2024 is poised to be a busy yearplaying the fantastic Love Rocks Festival and Wildfire Festival with more festival appearances and shows yet to be announced.
Absolutely loved chatting to these guys, definitely a band of the future to watch and how honoured I feel sharing this journey with them!!

It’s a long climb from the schoolyards of Norwich, UK, to the top table of the British Blues scene, but Oli Brown has scaled it in just four years.
It's fair to say that his career hasn't quite followed the trajectory many expected.
He released his blues debut albumOpen Road in 2008, six years later he took a hard-left with alt.rock band RavenEye, but seemed broken by the business when that band split after making a dream start supporting Kiss, Aerosmith and Slash.
Luckily for us, he's back on the scene with his new band Oli Brown & The Dead Collective, and he also has a thriving jewellery business called
Black Feather Design

2024 is promising to be the year that gives the most!
I caught up with my friend Simon Garrod, UK TechFest organiser and guitarist of Eschalon! This man has been around, seen a lot and his experience in the music scene really is one to be treasured. Not only are we extremely grateful that people like Simon exist especially when it seems at times the music scene is coming crashing down, venues closing, bands breaking up etc.
Founded in Cambridge by Simon Garrod and Miles Taylor, Eschalon has been a behind-the-scenes project for many years. During lockdown, the band finished writing multiple bodies of work before recruiting the right members for the job, which eventually saw the culmination of what we know as Eschalon today, it's amazing who you meet in Pizza queues these days isn't it?!
Their recording started with Meyrick De La Fuente of Floodgate Audio in late 2021 to create their captivating auditory and visual brutality. Mixing dissonance with serenity, Eschalon draw from a wide range of influences, fusing multiple genres to create a dense and chaotic soundscape, with beautiful visuals that will leave you hypnotised!
What a year Eschalon have planned for us all, not only are their videos on another level, no CGI was used when making them, what you see is a true reflection of hard work, persistence, unbreakable friendships and a lot of passion that has built up over the years.
Considering their first gig as a band was in October (3 months ago) they are storming through the music scene like bulls in a china shop!
So promoters around the country, get them booked because I have no doubt that they will skyrocket this year!!

I had the pleasure of chatting with these guys just before Christmas.
You know what they say good things come for those who wait, well the wait is over its here in all its glory. Regional One hailing from the South of England where they broke into the UK Rock scene, music inspired by artists such as modern giants Avenged Sevenfold, Shinedown, Black Stone Cherry, and Muse, all the way back to classic legends such as Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath.
They released their latest EP "Hero", on Friday 28th July 2023, with a brand new music video and EP launch show in their hometown of Bournemouth.
We had some great fun talking about lots of random nonsense including the importance of McDonald's when you are abroad, tune in for our holiday hacks and just general chatter. We even had a cheeky bit of Karaoke!
I spoke in fondness of the Attic Theory episode where Kenny became the mower king.. make sure you check out The King of The Trimmers on YouTube WARNING -Contains lots of Lawn Mowers!! https://youtu.be/lxxNpvGSTtk?si=YqVjlH6XpVIGxRJG
Oh and in their spare time they love filming their own edition of Masterchef which can be found on their Youtube page.
Regional One were such a friendly bunch who clearly have a great bond with each other, they are great to chat to and the only problem I had when interviewing them was my 35 minute curfew, I could have chatted to them all night.
Please listen to our chat and show them huge support because they absolutely deserve it!

Have you ever dreamed about something and then only had a day or two to turn it into reality?
Well...Thats what happened here! I only thought I'd get enough messages for a 10 minute episode, but due to the overwhelming response I've decided to release it in two parts.
I love nothing more than giving bands a platform to be heard, be known and the chance for fans to get to know our bands of the future on a personal level. So for everybody that has supported bands this year, supported our scene in some way whether it be by attending gigs, festivals then THIS IS A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU FOR DOING YOUR BIT IN KEEPING THE MUSIC SCENE ALIVE.
As the door closes to 2023 I thought I'd leave the final words of the year with our favourite bands!

77% of men polled have suffered with common mental health symptoms like anxiety, stress or depression. 40% of men have never spoken to anyone about their mental health. 29% of those who haven't done so say they are "too embarrassed" to speak about it, while 20% say there is a "negative stigma" on the issue.
In this episode I spoke with Chris Nichols, a Bradford based singer/songwriter who after battling with his own demons and coping with the loss of a friend hopes that by raising awareness of mens mental health will start more conversations about mental health among men, all proceeds from his single 'Blessed' will go towards Andy's Man Club, the suicide prevention charity for males.
West Yorkshire's suicide rate is higher than the national average, with a three-year rate of 12.5 registered suicide deaths per 100,000 people in 2020 to 2022, compared to a rate of 10.3 for England. Men continue to account for around three quarters of suicide deaths.
Not just UK, it's a worldwide problem and opening up is the hardest part, taking that first step, knowing who to trust.
Wouldn't it be nice for men not to have to wake up, put a smile on their face and act like everything is fine, when deep down everything is going wrong?
There is a lot of Stigma attached to talking about mental health. A Smile can hide alot.
Chris explains how you can help play your part in banishing the stigma surrounding mens mental health, how just by simply being there for somebody can save lives!
Let’s walk together and find the sunshine. It is always there.

I had the absolute pleasure of chatting to Adam Leader of In Search Of Sun! Now if like me you are wondering where the sun has gone, it's winter after all and the days are dark and dingy. Well don't you worry, because Adam really did brighten up my dark evening and I'm sure he will brighten up yours too.
We covered lots of stuff in our chat, from the idea behind my podcast, inclusivity in the music scene, parking at gigs and working together to help each other out, we are one big musical family remember!
Adam is not only a musician he is also a film director and writer and spoke proudly about his Award winning Horror Movie Feed Me, which by the way is excellent but not for the feint hearted!
We chatted about the past year and what they achieved, highlights including playing with Skarlett Riot and also their goals for 2024, what we can expect from them and also their 2024 8 date headline tour which kicks off May 3rd in Glasgow!
2023 has been a wonderful year for them as a band having 1.2 Million Streams in 156 Countries around the world! Impressive eh?
Anyway, if you haven't already then check them out because they are far too hot to handle right now and based on the success of their tour ticket sales they are about to sky rocket, so keep an eye out for them because its a band you will being a lot of this year!!

*Warning, may contain traces of Christmas Cheer, SuicideGirls and funny stories*
The legend that is Samii Armento, has dedicated her life to the music scene in many ways, this episode is her journey as a promoter over the many years involved, we talked about the good times and also the dark side of the music scene. Her modelling days seem such a long time ago (Bloody Gorgeous isn't she?!?!) We spoke about the opportunities that this created for her, especially her links with the SuicideGirls? I mean who didn't want to be one growing up? One of them even came to one of her events!!!!!
Not only is this my Christmas special, it's also the chance for Samii to draw a line under her days as a promoter. Those of you familiar with Unearthed Music will know how much Samii has given to the scene during her time as a promoter and she has always gone the extra mile for her bands, friends and fellow promoters in the scene.
In fact anybody who knows Samii will back me when I say that she is an absolute angel, she's like the music industries very own Angel Gabriel, keeping watch over all the bands and making therm believe in themselves!
Although Samii has now retired as a promoter she is still heavily involved in the music scene (You can't get rid of her that easy guys) her new venture Sharkroom Productions with her partner Ali, they specialise in band, model and event photography and videography. I even got to see them in action at the Unearthed Awards night at The Hairy Dog, Derby last weekend- Professional, personable and you can be sure that they will provide you with top quality content.
I'm sure you will all join me in thanking Samii for everything she has done over the years and bands if you haven't got photos taken or videos filmed by Sharkroom Productions, WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING AT?
All you need to do is google Sharkroom Productions and the search is full of their work! Please make sure you go and show this dynamic duo from Northampton some support, it's always nice to give back especially when she has done so much for others!
For those that don't know, I work in the NHS as an ODP and this is one of the busiest times of the year for me, I'm working right up until Christmas and working over New Year so I'd like to take the time now to wish you all a great Christmas & a safe new year.
I know that for some people Christmas isn't always Merry and Bright, this time of year is hard mentally and can feel extremely lonely, please don't be afraid to take a step back and focus on your own mental health and if you are struggling then please reach out, talking really does save lives and the world is a better place with you in it.

I absolutely love watching bands develop, this group of young'uns are taking the music scene by storm. If ever you've wondered Arch Enemy and Amon Amarths love child would be like then 7 Year War is my guess.
Not only have the streams of their most recent single Fallen Angel been gaining momentum the countries listening them has too.
We chatted Live from Toms dads office about their plans as a band, we looked back at this last year and how far they have come both personally and musically.
I have no doubt that these guys will be HUGE one day, I mean lets face it they have age on their side and if you haven't already then please check them out!

Jay Shredder is Music & Video Producer/Engineer based in the Midlands specialising in Rock, Metal & Pop music. He has been featured on BBC Radio One, Kerrang, Planet Rock just to name a few.
Jay has worked with a fine list of Rock royalty including Saxon, KK's Priest (Judas Priest), Diamond Head & more and works out of his own Studio, SLL STUDIOS as well as travelling the world for projects such as having a private tour around a castle in Austria with Volbeat!! He has many strings to his Bow and if you don't know this guy, then I'd say you are definitely missing out as he has a wealth of knowledge that he often passes to the smaller, newer bands offering them handy advice to help them on their journey into the music scene. His schedule is filling up rapidly so if you have a project you'd like Jay to help you with then don't delay in getting in touch here https://www.jayshredder.co.uk.
He has just racked up a total of 1,000,000 views on his YouTube videos and I'm definitely not surprised because I spent a good hour going through and watching some of what he has on offer and I was absolutely mesmerised by the quality, I almost felt like I was there in person.
It's fair to say that this man eats, sleeps and breathes music but it was nice for me to dig a little deeper into his personal life and see how he manages family life when he is out on the road or locked away for hours on end in his studio!
Unfortunately a few months ago Jay's sister’s partner passed away aged just 39. Not only will he be missed by so many but their 8 year old daughter now has to grow up without her dad and that’s absolutely heartbreaking
I know I have some great supporters here and it’s times like this that you can really make a difference. Laura and the family would like to raise £5k to get Zep’s ashes put into a diamond for Ophelia, his daughter. If you can spare a few quid, or just sharing, it all helps massively!

Picture this, the temperature has plummeted and I'm sitting in a freezing cold house because I don't want to spend money on heating (I'm tight you see) The interview starts with Aled taking me on a tour through his house where he reaches the front door, he spends the next half an hour hanging out of his front door letting all the heat out of his house just to make sure he has a decent signal for our chat. Now that ladies and gentleman is dedication!!
Hugo found this all too funny and as the conversation picked up it took a turn and I can't remember how, but we got on to talking about dressing gowns and Aled's assortment of robes! Hands up who thinks the "Aled robe" calendar should be done.
The Black Vultures have just released their newest single "Treat me like an animal" and it should definitely be added to your playlists, although they are a newish band they certainly have the craic and camaraderie that you would find in bands that have been on the scene for years.

Ladies and Gentlemen, if you have not heard of Mr Gordon Kimber then take a look in the mirror and ask yourself where you have been hiding all this time.
This man I would describe as the golden retriever of the music scene, he's loyal, trustworthy, intelligent (questionable at times I know) and friendly, just to name a few of his many traits.
He is often seen going above and beyond for his many bands he helps out (because he's a nice guy) usually his hands are full with amps and various bits of musical equipment, he's a bit like a pack horse at gigs....maybe we should rename him the Sherpa of the music scene!!
He is concentrating on band management and dipping his finger into the explosive world of pyrotechnics, so if you want fire and anything overly dangerous then give him a call!
Im sure you'll all join me in thanking Gordon for everything he does and has done for our scene! We also took our time in this episode in thanking many of the wonderful people that help to keep the live music scene alive, from venue owners to the promoters, to photographers to musicians.
We simply couldn't list off everyone so if you've not been named, it was only because we ran out of time.

Hands up if we have any Evergrey fans in the house?
Well, I had the honour of chatting to their bass player Johan Niemann about his solo project. He has just released his debut album "Karnivore" which pays tribute to the late Mick Karn. Johan is a big fan of the art rock/new wave band Japan and Mick Karns distinctive fretless bass playing is partly what influenced Johan to pursue his solo career alongside Evergrey and release this wonderful album..
Johan Co-Founded the band Minds Eye and during his lengthy career has also been a member of Therion and Evil Masquerade amongst others.
This man is probably one of the most humble people I have ever had the pleasure of chatting to, his bass project when I listen to it takes me back to my old PS1 days and the tracks on the album wouldn't sound out of place on any of the old school games, its almost like being trapped back in the 90's!
Often the bass is overpowered by the other instruments in a band and what a fantastic opportunity to be able to hear the bass guitar in all its glory!
There's definitely a lot of groove going on and each track takes you on a different journey, for the duration of this album I zoned out and had a break from the real world!
We also spoke very fondly of Solar Guitars, founded by the wonderful Ola Englund and how he makes guitars at affordable prices, supporting grassroots bands and his famous YouTube channel which offers guitar lessons, gear reviews and a whole lot more-If you haven't already then make sure you subscribe to his channel!
Please take time out to have a listen to this work of art that Johan has worked so hard in producing, you can find the album by following the link blow.

They say you meet friends for life at gigs and festivals and that's exactly what happened when I had the pleasure of chatting to the incredibly gorgeous, LADY BOSS, Femme Fatale that is Vicious Precious, Lady Lucifer, Singer/Songwriter just to name a few of her many talents, if you haven't heard of her band Pretty Addicted then you need to rectify this straight away. Prepare to be transported on a musical adventure to a dark rave at a funfair in hell.
The prodigy are a big influence in her music and i'm sure you'll agree as soon as the beat kicks in. Oh and btw, she was on the same line up as with The Village People and Human League at a festival a few months ago!! There are lots of religions in the world and one thing I do believe in is freedom of speech and this is entirely what this episode is all about, it's a chance for Vicious to be open and honest .
I am incredibly proud of everything that she is achieving and as stated in our interview we get immense pleasure by building other women up and supporting them, most importantly we are an ego free zone.
Her new album "We, The Broken Children Of Hell" which contains all of her blood sweat and tears inside, is released at MIDNIGHT TONIGHT!!!!!!
Unfortunately there are still a few men out there that think its acceptable to send Vicious tirades of abuse for being different, unwanted photos in here inboxes beginning with "D" (And they aren't pictures of their dogs) Feed the sheep is a song written just for you!!
If you don't like what she does then walk on by, you're the one missing out.
Imagine how boring the world would be if we were all the same, she's one of the most honest people you'll ever meet as she is not afraid to say it as it is, unfortunately she's not everyones cup of tea, but its a good job that most of the population prefer coffee anyway!!
The first Pretty Addicted interview I dropped was my 75th Episode and this one is my 147th.
Keep up the good work, I love you with lashings of my heart and thank you for letting me be a part of your success!!

Imagine having the voice of an angel? Nope, you don't have to imagine...Georgina Wilson who is currently studying in Brighton has a voice that effortlessly soothes your soul.
She's a newbie when it comes to the music scene and is patiently waiting to be discovered. That's where I come in handy. I have the ability to share this hard working young musician far and wide, all over the world where my podcast is being streamed.
She's desperate to get out around the Brighton area and share her songwriting so if there's anybody that can help her whether it be venue owners, promoters, fellow musicians then this will be gratefully received.
When I'm listening to her music I'm imagining I'm sipping on a cocktail or two in a bar somewhere in the Mediterranean!
Her main influences are Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, Billie Marten , Joy Crookes, Pip Millet, Caroline Polachek just to name a few.
Lets do what my podcast is all about and do our bit to support up and coming artists and help them on their journey.

Those of you with a beautiful music taste may recognise the name of this band! Born In Dissonance are a metal outfit mainly hailing from Bristol/WSM but scattered along the South West like a confetti cannon.
We had a little fact exchanging session, we talked about bad driving, bad teeth and slow moving traffic. They told me about the last time they played Stoke and how much of an eggselent time they had!
There is lots of exciting stuff to be expected from these guys over the next few months and what makes it a bit more exciting is that they are a totally DIY Band!
They are such excited puppies and considering this interview was one of their first proper interviews I think they conducted themselves wonderfully.
I even let them have a crack at my new "Guess the lyrics and sing the wrong ones" game! I had a wonderful time talking to them and I'm pretty sure they had fun too!
Trust me, this band are going places they just need your help and support!

*T/W STRONG REFERENCES TO BPD, SUICIDE, MENTAL HEALTH*
As most of you know I am a proud patron of Ian's Chain Charity and I take great pride in playing my part in helping people on their Mental Health journey.
As part of my Mental Health and Me Campaign I am honoured to be able to share Dan Baileys personal journey through his childhood all the way up to now, I would just like to take this moment to say how lucky we all are that he is still with us today.
It takes a lot of bravery to open up especially on a globally charting podcast but we hope that by sharing his story it may help other people, even if it's just letting people who have struggled on the same path, know that they aren't alone, think of this episode as an audio cuddle!
Dan offers some wonderful advice and I took this opportunity to thank him for all that he did a few years back with the#SmileAgainstTheStigmacampaign.
The#SmileAgainstTheStigmacampaign was formed by 'Smile Mental Health' which is an independent campaign, aimed at empowering people to disspell the stigma's surrounding mental ill-health, and to talk about these illnesses. The song focuses on 4 real-life stories of people battling with mental ill-health, as shared by people during 2015's #SmileAgainstTheStigma campaign. Remember a smile a day, keeps the psychologists away!

How often do we neglect our own mental health?
How often do we burn ourselves out trying to please others?
we spoke about the importance of looking after our mental health and his journey on how he has tried to banish the stigma surrounding mens mental health.
Some men still feel as if people expect them to hide their emotions and “man up,” or be strong for others. Having or acknowledging a mental health condition is still seen as a sign of weakness or lack of masculinity among some men.
It absolutely isn't a sign of weakness and EVERY PERSON ON THIS PLANET will experience mental health problems at some point in their lives.
Have a listen to our chat and I'm sure most of you can relate to this and just know two things,
1) YOU AREN'T ON YOUR OWN
2) IT IS OK NOT TO BE OK
We're all in this together so let's reach out and help each other!

You have to give it to this band Promethium, for all their dedication and hard work. Daniel Lovett-Horn basically spammed my inbox until I featured him on here!! His kindness and generosity really does go a long way and I would just like to say thank you for being such a wonderful person...The rest of the band are alright too, when they could get a word in edgeways!
Not only are these musicians wonderful at what they do, they create fantastic music to accompany you on your road trip whether it be commuting to work, just popping to the shops or travelling a bit further a field...theres a song on their new album for every occasion.
Buckle up and strap in tight, you re in for a treat with this episode...
P.S As you can probably tell by the episode photo, they definitely completed the challenge I set for them!

"Hell’s Addiction are a 5-piece balls-out hard rock band from Leicester UK, described as the bastard child of an illicit three-way between Skid Row, early-Guns N’ Roses & AC/DC."How many bands are confident enough to introduce themselves like this and ACTUALLY sound exactly as described?
The answer is not many, and Hells Addiction are parachuting back into the music scene with a bang!!! Having Natalie Taylor at the helm of the ship, she will sail them into many fantastic opportunities, so if you wanna book the guys then she's the woman to speak to!
They are having an album launch party on 7th October at Nottinghams newest club GHOST!
Their album "9' O Clock Horses" is available for pre ordering from their website prior the the Album release.
Be quick because I know this album is too hot to handle and I have no hesitation that it will be flying out once its released, that's if there are any available after the pre-orders!
It has to be said that these guys truly are the most down to, salt of the earth kind of people and I could spend hours chatting to them....well we could have if you knew how to turn the microphone on hahaha!
Oh and lastly, Jay Mcguire is DEFINITELY to blame for the Dirty Ballerina, sorry mum!

After Simon Gee stood me up the first time, I'm honoured to have finally caught up with him. Ever wondered what it feels to be in such high demand? Well wonder no more!
First things first his band Molly Karloff are on the hunt for a new bass player and we all know how hard it is at times to find the right person...Well that's where I come in handy, just call me the Cilla Black of the music industry, let me help find the right person for your band!
Simon talks about what they as a band are looking for and if you think you tick the boxes then get in touch!
We had a good old natter and I for one really enjoyed myself, we spoke about fond memories we share of Tina Sherwood and I'm sure most of you reading this would know how fond she was of this band...The age old debate continues what came first the van name or the band name ?
Picture this, You're at a festival, Tina is proudly lying in her van watching the world go by....
I reckon that it went along the lines of :
Simon: Hey Tina, nice van what's it called?
Tina: She's called Molly Karloff
Simon: Woahhhh, what an awesome name, i'm having that for our band!!!!!!
Simon talks about the people who have supported the band since the early days and how grateful he is for YOUR support.
We gave a BIG shout out to Alison from Swansea, I need to chat to you...We all need an Alison in our lives!!
I would like to dedicate this episode to Tina Sherwood who we all miss dearly, until we meet again our friend, may you rest in eternal peace.

I last caught up with these exactly a year ago at Sav Fest 2022 and I made them go off and brush up on their general knowledge!
Last of the Misfit Heroes are back this year with a different line up and a newly improved knowledge base!
These are some of the kindest, most genuine people I have ever met and just like last year Andrew didn't hesitate in offering me his coat!
Whenever I see their name on a line up, whether it be a gig or festival I always have a little smile to myself that they are doing well.
We need to treasure bands like these, if only there were more people like this in the world it would be a much more wholesome place.
Musically they pack a punch and their performance oozed energy, it was contagious and everyone in the vicinity of the stage just couldn't seem to stay still.
Please go and check these guys out and when you do, don't worry about taking a coat with you, Andrew will be on hand making sure you are well looked after!

You haven't got to worry about this band not turning up, Tyler arrived for our interview a day early!
It did cross my mind whether to stick to our original plans but if there's one thing I do well it's accommodate people wherever I can at the drop of a hat.
We chatted about life outside of Black Water Redemption and how Tyler juggles work, fatherhood and the band. The lengths these up and coming bands go to make ends meet to allow them to play shows for our enjoyment, really does hit home especially when he "Plays a gig on a Friday, then lays a patio on a Saturday"
It really is an honour to be able to take a deeper look into the faces behind the music and see what really goes on behind the guitars, drum kits, microphones etc.
I bang on all the time about buying Merch at gigs and in fact my living room is littered with random bits of Merch I've purchased over the years. My wardrobe is full of random T -Shirts and if it means Tyler can have the winter off laying patios then why not add to your collection by getting one of theirs!

Whilst on car park patrol I found a few lads knocking about with a guitar in hand, I knew by their style they weren't ordinary lads...I found Zac and The New Men on their way to breakfast club at RockWich before their performance.
Armed with a family carton of OJ I had to warn them about the side effects of drinking too much!
I guarantee you that this could be the best 3 minutes 30 seconds that you've ever listened to!

It's a very special moment for the She Burns Red boys! Not only is it their first visit to RockWich it is a nice welcome back to the old stomping ground of Northwich!
Kitted out with a Witton Shirt, they really did look the part, especially as Witton's stadium is a nice shade of red!
If you have been lucky enough to catch these guys you will surely agree with me that not only are they extremely talented musicians they are absolutely wonderful people to boot!
I'd even go as far as saying that James and Scott are the music scenes very own BFG's!
They are definitely a band that are gaining momentum wherever they go, perhaps due to their addictive stage show, catchy riffs and expertly executed songs!
Their new album "Out of Darkness" is an album that belongs in everybody's possession and if you haven't already purchased it then you need to look in the mirror and ask yourself why?
They are supporting South of Salem on their "The Samhain Supernova Tour" which is on for a sell out so make sure you get your tickets now to avoid disappointment.
I had the pleasure of testing their knowledge in my famous General Knowledge quiz, they even had a little help from their friends in South of Salem!

Me and this band go back many years, Twister I've seen them at their best and probably their worst...sleeping in a parking space, buried beneath their sleeping bags I did have to nudge them just to do a welfare check and to make sure they were alive!
As you will learn from our chat though, this is normal for them as the night before RockWich this year they were sleeping in a field! Fortunately there were no cows in their immediate vicinity luckily! Just an FYI...No cows were harmed before, during or after this interview!!
They are well known as being a very hardworking, loyal and professional band who always give their best performance no matter what is going on in their personal lives, something of which is quite hard to do.
These lovable North Easterners certainly pack a punch and I can't wait to catch up again very soon, especially as I forgot to get a photo of us for the cover photo...whoopsy.

They say storms don't last forever, I had the pleasure of chatting to 50 Year Storm at Sav Fest 2023.
I'm known for interviewing in unconventional locations and this was no different, this interview was recorded at the back of a motorhome on the campsite surrounded by the smell of freshly cooked bbq food.
Travelling all the way from Cornwall, which in itself is a mean feat I think it took them over 6 hours to travel to Sav Fest, this just shows the dedication and hard work bands like these put in to put on an awesome show for us.

A regular to Sav Fest, you could even say that she is part of the furniture for opening the festival! I've never met a more humble person than this lady right here Carrie-Anne Rogers, you'll often find her shying away from the spotlight until it's her time to play, when she gets on that stage the transformation from the shyness and nerves is unreal. She commands her audience and creates such a tranquil, ambiance with her acoustic notes!
It's hard to believe this is all done around being a wonderful mum! This part of music is often overlooked as we don't see that side, we just see a performer on the stage but in reality it's not as easy as it looks.
It took some convincing to get her on my podcast and I'm so glad I managed to persuade her as it was wonderful to chat to her and give people an insight into her personal life around music.

Now, those of you that know me will know that I ABSOLUTELY ADORE KinStrife.
I first met them at SavFest 2022 where they rescued me from a locked car park , I was a damsel in distress and they swooped in like Hercules to open the gates!
Since then, our paths meet quite regularly as they are a staple part of any festival line up and as their band is gaining traction they are becoming more and more popular!
But ladies I'm afraid i've gotta tell you to keep your hands off this handsome bunch as they are spoken for and their respective other halves and close friends are some of the nicest, kindest, strongest and wonderful women I ever did meet! People like this need treasuring and if the world had more of them then it would be a far better place! Yes Tina and Toni this it is aimed at you two!!
KinStrife are one of the only bands (The other one being Blue Nation at BBFest of course) to make me tear up when watching them, I was so proud of how far they have come over the last year since seeing them and the fun they are having radiates through their presence. I'm sorry everyone but if you are obsessed with their song "cursed" they now only play it for me at shows!!

After watching this band on the outside stage at Sav Fest I knew I had to chat to them! Complete with David Bowiesque eye make up I just knew that there was something different about them. It's not very often you get a father-daughter duo but it became apparent that by chatting to them they have a better relationship than most people do!
Hailing from Berwick-Upon-Tweed the band was formed in 2019 as a self confidence project fro front woman Taylor-Grace Mitchell as she struggled to word due to having multiple disabilities which really had an adverse impact on her mental health.

I had the pleasure of chatting to Mikey Ball & The Company last night and whilst I still have a backlog of episodes to release this episode I felt had to take priority.
How often do we neglect our own mental health? How often do we burn ourselves out trying to please others? Well I chatted to Mikey about the importance of looking after our mental health and together we tried to banish the stigma surrounding mens mental health.
There are still quite a lot of people that don't feel brave enough or comfortable in venturing to gigs and events they once loved. The COVID pandemic really affected many people in terms of loneliness, anxiety and depression not to mention money worries, health worries and many more problems and the aim of my podcast is so that people don't miss out in getting to know their favourite bands, I'll bring them to you!

Me and these guys go back many years and i'm extremely proud to share such a wonderful band from my hometown of stoke On Trent!! I chatted to my good friends Charlie and Scott from Black Coast.I was extremely keen to chat to them about their Bloodstock Festival performance a few days earlier, and by the sounds of it they had an awesome time!
I chatted to Charlie about making ends meet and to allow him to do what he enjoys he works 3 jobs to fund this. There's a common misconception that bands that play lots of gigs make lots of money and this is not the case. Any up and coming band will tell you that it is an extremely costly hobby in terms of travelling to gigs, buying merchandise and then of course you also have the cost of recording albums and making music videos!
This is why it's extremely important that we do all we can to get behind these bands, they are the bands of our future!
Any promoters/festival organisers hit these guys up.. I PROMISE YOU THEY WON'T DISAPPOINT!
P.S Charlie might even trim your hair in return!! How many bands can play a gig and cut your hair all in the same show?

This band are well known for a lot of things, most recently they even got Skindred to sign a contract to take them on the three additional dates they added to their UK tour, now that would be awesome!!
I sat down with Ward XVI (16) for those of you rubbish at maths, on a soggy bench in the pouring rain to chat to them at Sav Fest 2023.
This theatrical bunch of rockers will leave you wanting more after each show, their unique performance has allowed them to recruit their ever faithful inmates and if you are lucky you might even get called up to join in their show, think of these as magicians of the music scene.
They are gagging to get out and about and play every venue out there so if you want an immersive stage show as well as being taken on a musical journey then this is the band for you!
In 2017 their first chapter was opened and since then they have gone from strength to strength and in 2021 they created the first ever CIRCUS PIT at BLOODSTOCK- I was there and the Sophie Lancaster tent was packed to the rafters and many of the newly recruited inmates were mesmerised by the show.
Have a listen to our chat where they describe their perfect sugar daddy or sugar momma and are actively recruiting...Think you've got what it takes, then get in touch. They talk about their inmates and their journey to get to where they are today and of course many other things, including my famous general knowledge quiz featuring two exclusive sing alongs!

I'm sure you'll all agree when I say that SKAM are one of the most handsome bands! Not only are they handsome they are extremely hard working, great musicians and great company...They really are the full package. I caught up with them at Sav Fest and we had a lot of catching up to do.
Every band deserves to make it and these are no exception, they are ready...BORN READY they are just waiting for the opportunity to arise.
We spoke about the challenges and obstacles faced when trying to progress in the industry.
They are one of THE most reliable bands out there, punctual, professional and that was exactly how I described them back in 2016 when I first had the pleasure of meeting them and hosting them at a festival and nothing has changed, except their music has got better and better!
These guys deserve every opportunity available to them, they have worked their way around the country building their fan base!

Now this band I've been tracking down for AGES but we just hadn't managed to get round to it!
THEIA, These brothers now how to entertain and put on a great performance. Their songs aiming to break the stigma that is associated with mental health and life struggles, they are advocates in supporting improving wellbeing and mental health.
I've had the pleasure of knowing them since 2016 if not earlier and they are a staple part of the music scene.
During the peak of the COVID pandemic they wrote a song called "Blue Heart" in order to support all the NHS staff, they reached out at numerous points in that horrendous time and just wanted me to know that they were there for me!

Hailing from Bristol this band need no introduction, I had the pleasure of chatting to Finn and Harry from Embodiment!!! This Technical Death Metal band are certainly one of the more well known bands on the Bloodstock line up this year.
They are playing the Sophie Lancaster stage on Sunday 13th August!
Now, It has to be said that Finn definitely has one of the nicest voices and I could listen to him on repeat for hours! I even recommended he go into making audio books, I reckon he'd make a fortune! And ladies, I went there, I asked him and YES he's SINGLE!!!
Listen in to find out what his perfect woman would be! Oh and if the suns out next weekend he has a tendency to get a bit crispy so get the sun cream on standby for all the areas that he can't reach!
Harry treated me to an on the spot pig squeal, so those of you at Bloodstock listen out and get running to the Sophie tent when you hear that squeal, it's definitely a performance not to be missed!
I don't usually do quizzes via zoom due to the risk of cheating, but theses guys promised me they'd play fair and they didn't do too bad!

I'm so honoured to be writing this HEADPRESS ARE FINALLY GOING TO BE PLAYING BLOODSTOCK!
For many bands the chance to play Bloodstock is AMAZING but even more so to these guys who after many years of narrowly missing out on winning their final of M2TM, won it last year but had to pull out of Bloodstock last minute due to personal reasons.
As we all know that in life you cannot pour from an empty cup so its vital that you put yourself and your family first where needed and that's exactly what these guys did and in their words "It was a no brainer", It takes courage to make that decision but they are from Stoke and we drink Courage for breakfast, usually in a wetherspoons at 8am in the morning.
When Simon Hall contacted them and asked if they wanted to play this year they of course bit his hand off....not literally though, I can confirm that Simon has still got both of his hands at the point of writing this!

Although this band aren't playing Bloodstock this year, I had the pleasure of chatting to Kieran, lead singer of the band DeathCollector. In fact I'd go as far as saying they are the most child friendly death metal band, listen I to find out why?!!!
He talked me through his career touching on Ashen Crown, Grimorte and DeathCollector! His passion for graphic design and the time he has never lived his meme down. He gave his tips and tricks of making it in a band and at what point you have to admit defeat and move onto different avenues!
Kieran will be attending Bloodstock so keep your eyes peeled for him and go and give him a hug from me!

I spoke to Imogen who gave me the low down on what's been going on, we spoke about UGLY CLUB which is a club that everyone can join ,a club with no judgement and a club where you can be yourself!

I thought it was only fair to quiz 3 of the nicest men in the music industry, Martin Short, Jason Samuels and David Wilson. Theyall took part in my general knowledge quiz, up in the depths of the press area at SOS Festival.
Often reviewers, togs, interviewers, promoters go unnoticed in the depths of our venues and I thought it was only right to include them and to give them a big shout out for all the contributions they have, and continue to make to supporting our live music scene!

I caught up with Midnite City at Eleven on the eve of their album launch "In At The Deep End".
Every show is special, but this one in particular is even more so as it's Josh "Tabbie" Williams hometown show. For those of you that don't know, Josh is one of my long serving childhood best friends and every time I watch him perform, I'm really proud of how far he has come from his early career days.
Midnite city have racked up fans all around the world and after embarking on a Japan and Australian Tour their fan base is rapidly growing.
Since their self titled first album way back in 2017 they have smashed onto the music circuit and right now after their album release, they are a force to be reckoned with!

If you are into your metal bands but haven't come across these yet, you need to give your head a wobble and ask yourself why?! Most recently some of you might have seen them at the M2TM Semi Finals at Rebellion a few months back where they narrowly missed out on getting through to the final!
Last week, Satans Hollow invited them along to open their new Battle of The Bands competition, and just like glitter....you are suddenly finding them everywhere!
It's lovely to see their hard work is starting to pay off and although they just missed out in the M2TM Final I'm sure it won't be long before they earn a slot at Bloodstock off their own merit, hard work and dedication!

Formed in 2019 these musicians certainly know their way around the scene having played in many other bands over the years, although a relatively new project they are definitely a band not to be missed.

Everybody that knows me will know that me and Josh go back years and he still is to this day one of my best friends, Josh is the reason I am where I am today in terms of being heavily involved in the music scene.
Josh's career started out when he was in a band called "Navaho", he then moved on the a band called "Black Road Home" when their bass player left, he has been in many bands such as the well known "HeadRush", "Hypothesis" and currently he's in a band called Midnite City!
We talk fondly of our days on tour when he was in "Hypothesis" some of the fun and mischief we got up to is embedded firmly in my memory forever! The laughs, the jokes, the fun on the road hear us bare all in this exclusive interview.
Josh talks about his time touring as a stand in bass player alongside the Demon boys and his experience of gigging alongside some of his idols, to this current day where he has toured Australia and Japan with his current band, who are just about to embark on their "In at the deep end" 10 date tour prior to their album release later in the year!
He also talks about the importance of getting yourself checked out if you have and lumps or bumps any where you shouldn't!

As you know every month I focus on trying to help make the world a better place by raising awareness, this month I've chosen to focus on The Macari Centre and how Lou Macari is trying his hardest to swim against the tide that is homelessness.
271,000 people are registered as homeless and of this figure 123,000 are children. This figure has rocketed since the recorded numbers before covid and because of covid logistics changed and cramming rough sleepers into a building had it's limitations. So Lou rented out a warehouse and filled it with clamping pods to help alleviate the covid risk and this provided the homeless with privacy, dignity and a place where they could have their own space and an individual address. We talk about the barriers surrounding homelessness such as drugs and alcohol use and simply the fact that there aren't enough places to house people.
What makes this episode extra special is that it's 30 years today that Lou Macari guided Stoke City to promotion! We talk about his football career and him climbing the career ladder on the pitch from apprentice to then playing for his beloved club, to playing for Manchester United making 400 appearances and scoring 78 goals in that time. He then went on to play for Swindon Town ending his playing career there and then going on to manage them, he had managerial spells at West Ham, Birmingham City, Stoke City, Celtic, he then returned to Stoke City taking them to promotion and ended his managerial position at Huddersfield Town.
When asked what was easier managing the homeless or managing footballers his answer was indeed the latter!!!
I hope you enjoy listening to this episode and will agree with me on what a fantastic job Lou has done for our city in helping the homeless and providing a safe space for them to be.

In 15 days Gin Annie, one of the hottest bands on the UK music scene kick off their UNDIVIDED album release tour. I caught up with their tour manager Katie Richardson and we had a good chat about what to expect on this 9 date tour across the length and breadth of the country.
I'm sure most of you know Katie Richardson and those that don't need to ask yourself why?!?!?! She's is the lady boss of her company 'Hellfire Music Entertainment'.
Band management? She's your woman, Tour management? She's your woman, Cut your finger? She will help patch you up. What i'm trying to say is there's nothing this lady cannot do, I'm pretty sure she's superhuman!
Anyway, have a listen to us talk about her role in the music industry and it's a privilege to share her journey as the last time we spoke on Twisted, Torn And Moist was 8 months ago when she had just taken the plunge and set Hellfire Music Entertainment up, It's amazing to see how far she has come since then.

He has also just released his solo album "Forever Viking" which is definitely worth a listen or two or 10...I'm currently on double figures as I've got it in my car currently!
See how a very fragile Luke got on in my general knowledge quiz and yes I did take pity on him and give him a few clues!!

No matter what bands we like or festivals we choose to attend we all share one huge thing in common...our love for spending time surrounded by our friends listening to great music.
December 2022 was an extremely sad month as we lost our friend, one of the biggest supporters of new music and up and coming bands, our fairy rock mother Tina Sherwood.
Her zest for life, her passion for music and her warm hearted kindness are missed daily by every person that was lucky enough to know her.
Zhany Hughes is one of the faces behind DesTINAtion 2023 which is a one day event held on Saturday 15th July at The Corporation, Sheffield to celebrate Tina's life and to raise as much money for the charities chosen by her family in her memory. Have a listen to our chat to find out more about this fantastic fundraising event in memory of Tina Sherwood.
The chosen charities are listed below:
Danielle's Flutterbyes is a charity aiming to help young adults between the ages of 18-40 living with Kidney disease. Kidney disease has no cure, you can only prolong life by receiving a transplant or dialysis. People receiving treatment have to endure so much. It's extremely invasive, not only to their bodies but also their lives. Dialysis for 4 days a week and 4 hours per session leaves very little time for a job, hobbies, friends or a social life, the things young people should never have to go without.
HF Trust, one of the largest and longest-established charities supporting people with learning disabilities. There are currently 1.5 million people with a learning disability in the UK and the money raised for this charity. The HF Trusts Fusion Model of Support is based on the concept of Person-Centred Active Support (PCAS) – a way of supporting people so that they are engaged in meaningful activity and relationships as active participants. And as a result, they exercise more control over their lives and experience greater levels of inclusion, independence and choice. Hft staff teams use the Fusion Model to support more than 2,500 people with learning disabilities nationally to achieve the best possible outcomes.
As well as organising the event some of the desTINAtion team members are going to do something a little bit crazy to help raise some extra funds follow the link to visit their crowdfunding page:

I had the chance to catch up with my good friend Paul Hume who is the face behind Eleven in Stoke-On-Trent! I'd go as far as saying it's one of my favourites in the entire country and I'm not biased because it's my local either!
Paul has spent years in the music circuit touring all over the world with a plethora of bands not to mention playing the guitars for the mighty Demon for over 10 years!
There's not much about music that this man doesn't know and anything he doesn't know isn't worth knowing!
This venue has always been a safe space of mine, when I was single I wouldn't hesitate to go alone as I knew I'd be safe, so ladies out there if you're feeling anxious about going to a gig by yourself, I recommend starting here!
Lets support our local venues and help keep live music alive!

A few months back I caught up with the guys in "7 Year War" I caught up with Tom to see how things were progressing in their camp and we chatted about their new single which is released at the end of April, Baby Killer. Don't worry folks, no babies were harmed in the making of this episode and Tom talks us through the reason behind
the name and where it came from!
We chatted about various gigs they have in the pipeline and their appearance at Drunken Monkey Rock Festival.
The Drunken Monkey Rock Festival was launched nearly 10 years ago, in memory of local Worcestershire man Ian Dowton, who died after a car accident. It has raised over £11,000 so far for the life-saving Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. Which is a charity close to my heart, especially as in my day job I work very closely with them.

We had such a laugh and I'm sure you will too when listening back to this interview. I'm sure I echo everybody's thoughts when I say that I look forward to seeing you back in the UK very soon, your lust for life is infectious and I'm so grateful we got the chance to chat, despite you having a flight to catch a few hours afterwards!

Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. In the United Kingdom, mental health issues represent the single largest cause of disability.
The stigma associated with mental illness is reported to be the biggest barrier preventing people from seeking care and treatment. However, the attitude of people toward mental health has changed in recent years and this is exactly what I'm aiming to do, try my hardest to banish the stigma surrounding mental health and giving people a platform to discuss their journeys in hope to give others the strength that they need to come forward.
Jason Edwards, for his 50th birthday did 6 and a half hours of constant strength and conditioning exercises in the gym to raise money for Mental Health!! Thank you so much for all that you do to help with mental health awareness and thank you for providing a safe space for people to go if they are feeling low!!

Me and the HellCats go back a long time and they are one of my favourite bands because they are so fun to be around and one of the most welcoming, warmest bands I've ever met, they are a bunch of misfits that just wanna play music-and my goodness do they do just that!!
Each cool cat has their own style and when they come together they create a Clowder/Destruction/Clutter (all of which are common terms given to a group of cats)
It was so nice to catch up with them on their last date of the Hearts and Hand Grenade Tour at The Station, Cannock, They were shattered, bruised and battered but somehow still managed to find time after their fantastic set to entertain me and allow me to quiz them!
Please check them out, you will not be disappointed, I mean there's not many father and son combos on the stage as good as these guys!

One Small Weekend is a new event to help raise money and bring the community of Werrington and surrounding areas together. It is held over the May Bank Holiday weekend 27th-28th May at Werrington Sports Ground!
Having grown up in Werrington myself, I think it's a wonderful idea to host a weekend of music focused around the local communities to give something back and to assist those that are less fortunate as ourselves.
We are so lucky that we have a fantastic network of local businesses all working together to help each other and the local community.
One Small Weekend is a weekend full of live music featuring tributes from Abba and Queen, the fantastic Magnetic Jellyfish and local DJ's and for £44 for a weekend ticket or £27.50 per day it's a bargain!
Lets get behind it and support our local community!

All storms shall pass, is a phrase used to describe this interview. Rage Sadler of Kaine very kindly agreed to open up about his personal struggles over the last few years and I'm sure these struggles resonate in all of us.
We wanted to share that it is normal to hit bumps in the road and eventually things will get better, just give it time. The cost of living crisis has hit us all and Rage is back stronger than ever before!
We move on to discuss Kaine, and how he managed to rebuild the band in a record amount of time!

I had the honour of chatting to Julian Jackson who is a director of Witton Albion Fc!
They very kindly allow us to host our glorious festival Rockwich at the U Lock It Stadium!
Not only do some of the club members help around the stadium they also ensure that we have warm showers over the festival weekend and they give up their time for free to do this so I just want to say a massive thank you on behalf of everybody at RockWich Festival!
I told Julian that the only time I'd release this podcast is if my beloved Leek Town lost to Witton Albion and sadly today was that day. I have wiped away my tears and have composed myself so that I can release this episode featuring some of the kindest, and loveliest people that I have had the pleasure of meeting!
It's a fantastic feeling knowing that by hosting our grassroots festival at this grassroots football club, we can support them as a club and they can support us as a festival!

I had the pleasure of chatting to Sean Crocker, vocalist of the band "The Miser", for those of you that say singers don't ever do much to help off the stage I CAN CONFIRM that Mr Crocker gave his time up to chat to me. We had great fun putting the world to rights, talking about the highs and lows of music and his personal journey the last few years.
We talked about the origins of the band name, the cost of living crisis and the effect it is having on the music scene, parking fines in London, non moving traffic in Birmingham and lots of other entertaining stuff, including how the band came together.

Everybody has a dream and with a little bit of help we can make it come true.
Ian, just like many of the other volunteers trying their hardest to make the Nene Valley Festival based in an idyllic setting of Ferry Meadows, Nene Park, Peterborough, happen all have one thing in common, their passion for music and supporting up and coming bands. The festival will be held on 31/08/23-03/08/23 and it is one not to be missed.
Just like myself with this podcast it's all about giving bands a platform for them to build their fan base and help give them the helping hand that they deserve.
They say nothing in life worth having comes easy and that's exactly why we need to support new events to give them the chance that they deserve.
In order to make this festival become a reality they need to sell 400 tickets, at £129 for 64 bands this works out at £2 per band!!!!!!! They have sold just over half of this and have extended the deadline.
And if the target doesn't get met, because it's all done through Crowdfunding, you get your money back!
With bands on the line up CONFIRMED, they have the insurance and support from the local council to make this happen they just need you to put your trust in them!
I had the pleasure in chatting to "Valhalla Awaits" at Firestorm Festival 2022, They opened The Big Top Stage on the Saturday and they certainly didn't disappoint.
These Welsh rockers match their great stage presence with a great sense of humour and I thoroughly enjoyed chatting to them!
We talked about their music, talked about what superpowers they would give each other and of course Welsh road signs and the frustration they cause to us English folk! The age old dog/cat which ones better debate and see how well they got on in my general knowledge quiz!
P.S Sorry about the wind noise, I lost my muffler haha

They have a plethora of gigs coming up so have a listen to our interview and hopefully you'll be able to make it to one of their shows!
In this episode we talked about getting the local school children involved in music from an early age, the outcome of getting school children to draw candles which in itself was an art attack moment and overall we just had a lot of fun chatting about whatever came into our heads plus see how they got on in my famous general knowledge quiz!
This episode also contains my brand new jingle, guitar riff courtesy of Lewis James from NAMELESS! Thank you so much!

An impromptu visit to Birmingham I met up with Lewis James of the 4 piece Nu Metal band NAMELESS.
The only way I can describe their sound is, imagine a Tsunami of Deftones but instead of raindrops falling its melodic guitar riffs showering down upon you!!
These guys have made it through to Heat 4 of the Metal 2 The Masses competition where bands are voted for by their fans and judges, the winner goes on to play The New Blood Stage at Bloodstock Festival!
Heat 4 will be held at The Flapper in Birmingham on 17th March!
Lewis spoke to me about his passion for supporting the Alzheimers Society and how they supported a family member very dear to him, he talks about how he gave back to them by arranging a gig with all proceeds being donated to this wonderful cause.
He also talks about the meaning behind the band name and quite a few embarrassing moments that have happened at various gigs, including his near miss with a cymbal!

To celebrate the success of Twisted, Torn And Moist It's time to give something back and my focus will be on different charities and how they help make the world a better place! We all at some point, will need help from a charity and it is my pleasure to help people understand the fabulous work that they do....So let's do our bit to help.
There are so many charities out there helping to provide a better future for people and my first episode of Let's do our bit to help, I caught up with Sam in Birmingham, who's working tirelessly to spread the word about the work that the NSPCC are doing.
Between 2016 and 2021, the NSPCC helped to make over 6.6 million children safer from abuse. But they can't do it alone - they need your help
Child abuse and neglect happens every day, in every walk of life, all around the UK.
At least two children in the average primary school classroom have experienced abuse or neglect. By the time they turn 18, that number rises to at least 4.
Thank you for all that you do, you are so appreciated!

Back by popular demand, even if they were in McDonalds at the time!!
Be sure to catch these guys, they are a great bunch and their future is looking extremely bright, not to mention their music is pretty damn good also!

I had the pleasure of chatting to them to find out a bit, ok lots, about themselves, their band and meanings behind the name, what their plans were for the future and many other things. We certainly crammed a lot of content in this podcast and I have no doubt that even the most miserable of people will crack a smile at some point during this interview! I really enjoyed chatting to them, it certainly brightened up a miserable day!
We shared facts and I also gave them a damn good quizzing!! Listen to this episode to find out how they got on!

After the hilarious interview I did with Attic Theory at Sav Fest earlier in the festival season, I jumped at the chance of round 2 at FireStorm!
The only difference this time was the absence of Kenny "King Of The Mowers", he was busy mowing lawns somewhere.
If there's one band that you can guarantee a good time on and off the stage it's these guys and dare I say it... rather clever as well!

I caught up with the boys in Ethyrfield at SavFest 2022, I collared them just as they were about to set off home. Hailing from Devon, these guys pack a punch.
General Knowledge Quizzes don't seem to be their strongest point BUT making music certainly makes up for that!
I'm sure most of you will have seen their name on event posters, but weren't sure how to pronounce their name...All is revealed in this episode.

I had the absolute pleasure of chatting to the guys in Royal Bloom at Sav Fest last year! I've kept this beauty hidden up my sleeve for 5 months (It's been so tempting to release it beforehand) but I wanted the New Year to get off to a flying start!
What better way than starting 2023 with one of my favourite episodes. These guys are so personable, for 20 minutes I felt like I was chatting to members of my family, they were so easy going, fun and really easy to chat to! Not to mention actually quite clever! In fact I'd go as far as saying that they are the whole package!
Imagine if Nirvana had a child with Audioslave? That's the way I would describe their sound, these hard working lads from Ayr are taking the scene by storm. If you haven't heard of them, well you have now and I demand that you check them out! If I can give you one piece of advice for the year, it would be to catch them now whilst they are affordable to watch, because at some point they are going to make it big!
Under The Bridge and Suffer Tomorrow are two of my most played tracks on my playlist and I still can't get enough of them!!!

I had the pleasure of chatting to Katie Richardson at Sav Fest about her new venture Hell Fire Music Entertainment. What better way to release her FIRST EVER OFFICIAL INTERVIEW than on her birthday!
I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing her a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!If you're in the music industry and haven't heard of Katie Richardson then I have to ask where the hell have you been? She's the spine of the music scene right now!
Everyone knows our Katie! Whether its because she's one of the kindest, most caring people that I have ever had the privilege of meeting or the fact that because of her, bands are living their best lives and often Katie is the reason that they are still alive!
Now if Katie doesn't know the answer to something then 9/10 times the answer isn't worth knowing, luckily for me she fared very well in my general knowledge quiz therefore my questions live to survive another day!
We spoke about her goals and her intentions and what Hellfire Music Entertainment was all about, have a listen to this episode to find out more!
Please go and show her some support

I chatted to Scott Booth who is 1/5 of the Ayrshire band "The Breathing Method"
We chatted about their music journey so far and what goals the band had for the New Year and beyond.
We talked about the importance of professionalism when contacting fellow promoters/booking agents and the age old saying "if you don't ask, you don't get"
and all other things music.
We talked about the band name and the famous Stephen King novel it was taken from and if Scott could give fellow band members a super power, what power he would give them.
"Hope For A Better Day" is their latest single and the music video to this was dropped last week.
Scott also chose to represent the band in the general knowledge quiz, listen in to see how he got on!!
They are on the hunt for festival appearances and any gig slots so if they fit the bill, give them a shout!
In the meantime show them some support:

I caught up with the guys in Kickin' Valentina at RockWich prior to their headline slot, there's no better way to warm up and prepare for a show than taking part in a general knowledge quiz to get those brain juices flowing!
Ever wondered where they got their band name from? I bet you won't guess it in a million years, but all is revealed in this podcast episode! It also features a few added EXCLUSIVE nursery rhymes, KV style!!
These are a band not to be missed, but you will need the wet floor signs out when they are around due to the increase in MOISTure in the air!!
See how they did in the quiz, they didn't score full marks but I'll give them 10/10 for the entertainment they provided!!
Check them out:

Hailing from the "Steel City" are these mischievous lads...Steal The City.
I had the pleasure of chatting to them at Sav Fest earlier this year.
These guys remind me of excited puppies, bounding around with so much energy and they have time for each and every person that they meet, the only difference is that the last time I checked with them they were fully potty trained!
They fared pretty well in the general knowledge quiz, and the only bit of advice I can give them is to find a better chat up line...amateurs!!
Without further ado ladies and gentlemen, Steal The City!!
P.S I saved the best for last!!

I had the honour of chatting to Gary Moat, some of you may remember him being in the 80's Scottish hard rock outfit "Heavy Pettin" back in the day.
We reminisced about his past endeavours touring with bands such as KISS, Metallica, Motley Crue to name a few.
The main reason for our interview was to spread the word about his current band, "Burnt Out Wreck" Who's album has charted at #3 in the Pre Sale chart on Amazon!!! How awesome is that??! So well deserved.
Their new album "Stand And Fight" is released tomorrow 16/12/22 .
The track featured at the end of our interview is "Stand And Fight" Personally picked by Gary and I'm sure after listening to it, you'll figure out why.

It was my absolute pleasure to catch up with the insanely talented and extremely clever guys in Dead Mans Whiskey at RockWich 2022. They stepped in last minute at RockWich 2021 and came back for more this year!
I will go as far as saying they are one of the cleverest bands I have had the honour of interviewing so far, and i've interviewed a plethora of bands.
I had to eat my words and put my money where my mouth was as they answered a question right, I was adamant they wouldn't get it right but I was wrong...so wrong!
A trip to the bar later and a shot for each member, i've learnt my lesson...not to bet real money!
Hope to catch you all soon for Round 2, DING DING!!
My favourite track "Sleep When I'm Dead" is featured at the end of the episode.

Hailing from Hitchin, this rock quartet are the whole package, real good fun and really good musicians.
It's gotta be said that the winner of the coolest shades award goes to Ryan..those shades were THE coolest I've ever seen.

I had the pleasure of chatting to Daxx & Roxane at RockWich 2022!
In 13 minutes I found out how they came up with their name, what their favourite food was and even arranged a tour of my own #ToothlessTours.
We chatted about their home back in the Swiss Mountains and the reason that toblerone's are shaped like triangles.
I even managed to fit both rounds of my general knowledge quiz and it has to be said that they performed pretty well and it was rather hilarious!
Thanks for taking time out to chat to me and I hope to see you guys again soon.

I had the absolute honour of chatting to Mercia at RockWich 2022.
We talked all things "Stokie" such as oatcakes, venues and old school music acquaintances we have met on the musical journey, most of which we have in common.
Special mention goes out to Ian Chapman, who most of you know affectionately as "Buff". We thanked you for your continual dedication to the music scene in Stoke and keeping the live music scene alive, Long live The Freebird!
Mercia are contenders for being one of the cleverest bands I've interviewed and are all round decent lads, providing the best entertainment on and off the stage.
