In this message we look at the example of Aquila and Priscilla (Acts 18 and Romans 16) as a married couple who focused together on God's mission in the world.
In David: After God's Heart Pt.2 - Pastor Colton preaches a message he and Pastor Dave co-prepared, sharing about how we are to look to Christ, to God, as David did in the midst of the battle with Goliath, where David had a "God-Dominated imagination" as Eugene Peterson put it. He ultimately called us to know our inheritance in Christ, and to be clothed not in our own armour, but in Christ's righteousness - focusing our eyes on Him in everyday.
Introducing our series on "David: After God's Heart," Pastor Colton brings us from 1 Samuel chapter 1 to 16, inviting us into the David Story by encouraging us to have beautiful eyes that look to God. He reminds us that God is the hero of the Bible, and that we Eli's and Saul's, who are tempted to look at others or ourselves for fulfillment, have a Saviour whom we are called to look at and base our lives upon.
Convenience, conflict and comfort can challenge us and make us want to pull us away from community. But what does God's Word say? Using the context of Romans 15, we are challenged not to separate or pull away from community when the going gets rough, but we are called, as the Church, to be a people who persevere with one another in love as Christ did for us. This message unpacks persevering through prayer, patience, and by the power of God's Presence.
Concluding our Advent Series, "Expecting: Awaiting the God of the Unexpected," Pastor Colton Conrad starts out with a short story told from the perspective of Andrew the Apostle about Jesus' coming and John the Baptist preparing the way. Then, transitioning into his sermon, Pastor Colton speaks on how God "must become more and more, I must become less and less."
Pastor Colton continues our series going through Colossians in part six where, in the rest of chapter 3 going into chapter 4, Paul writes about the roles of not just husband and wife, but of the whole family in Christ and how we are to live in relation to each other.
