Hey Fam! For our #MorningMotivaton episode this week we will use one of my favorite quotes:

For what it’s worth… it’s never too late or in my case too early, to be whoever you wats to be. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want.

You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it,

I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you’ve never felt before. I hope you meet people who have a different point of view.

I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start over again.

Hey Fam! For our #MorningMotivaton episode this week we will use a quote to reflect on throughout our week and the quote says:

"time will magnify whatever you feed it"

Time: something that cannot be defined completely; but it used to quantify your past, present and future.

-time is the ONE commodity this life that we can’t get back

-time is the best blessing and it cannot be replaced in any way

-time revels truth by revealing how we spend it—we disrespect it

-we treat it like its disposable, invaluable, like were entitled to it

Magnify: make (something) appear larger than it is, especially with a lens or microscope.

-we should magnify our intentions of how we choose to spend our time. Not obsess over it but definitely be more intentional of honoring our time

No matter if its for rest, play, solitude, etc.

Journal Prompts:

  1. Am I spending my time wisely and intentionally?
  2. What changes can I make to show appreciation for the time I do have?

Hey Fam! For our #MorningMotivaton episode this week we will use a quote from the lovely Nina Simone and scriptures from the Bible that is known as the Love Chapter

“You’ve got to learn to leave the table when Love’s no longer being served” Nina Simone

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.”

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV

Hey Y’all!👋🏾 in this episode I will be sharing with you how to Build Your Community. From observation, community seems to be something that the black community is lacking in everyday life. Our ancestors before accomplished so much by coming together, being supportive and doing life together; so let's follow their example.

Community:(n) A group of people living in the same place or having particular characteristics in common.

A feeling of fellowship with others as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, goals.

How to Build Your Community:

1) Get to know YOU!

-Mirrors: look for people who mirror back to you common interests that you have of substance

-No copycats, no chameleons: be uniquely YOU, and bring that unapologetically. There's no need to blend in, know and show who you are

2) Define what trust means to you

-There are levels of trust

-old mantra: trust people until they give you a reason not to, new mantra: allow people to show you the level of trust that you should grant them

3) Reciprocation ONLY

-referring the folks that are closest to you(your CORE)

-the frequency of reciprocation determines your closeness to me

Reasons Community is Necessary:

1) Feelings of belonging(tribe)

2) Safe spaces(they make doing life easier)

3) Provides prospectives and different point of views(causes you to expand)

4) We need each other(no one wants to be alone)
