Hello everyone, Welcome back to Radio Baloot the Oak.

This episode is dedicated to our core inner power, the power of choice. We must understand that the true power lies within us; changing our inside and outside world is the self-confidence that draws from our choices. The choices we make in each moment of our life shape the currents of the flow of life, which we sometimes call destiny. Today we talk with Alireza, a Ph.D. student in cognitive psychology concerning implied social and environmental forces to shape our perception of self and choices.

This Episode is in Farsi, tune in for the English version of this episode in a couple of days!

Welcome to Baloot the oak
This podcast is dedicated to Iran.

Here I talk about the Iranian culture, touching on social psychology, connections to myths, and modern western culture.
We will have guests from diverse ethnical, cultural, and scientific backgrounds.

Now, why Baloot the oak?
Here is the story behind it.

Baloot is native species of the Oak tree, native to western Asia and the Middle East. You may know it by other names like Quercus baloot or Persian oak.

Oak trees are a symbol of resilience and prosperity. Oak's roots continue dreaming of light and warmth if its trunk gets cut. Just get closer. You will find delicate shooters rising up, looking for sunlight around the old mother trunk. And in a few years, if you pass by them again, you will see young oak trees, still fragile, carrying their mother's legacy, keep reaching for light and warmth. And yet, this is not the only strength of the oak! Trees feel with their roots wandering in the distance for the rich soil to get nourishment. They are so like us! We also look for nourishment everywhere, every moment of our lives. We seek the seed of our higher self, the warmth in the migration of monarch butterflies whiting each cell of our bodies when we fall in love, singing love songs, and kissing our lover. We would seek the warmth of love from our parents' hugs in our comfort foods, even if we grew up as orphans. We dive into beautiful cultural diversity possible by modern society and technology. Yet, like roots, we all go back to the main body, our homes, our loyal companions, who are no other than our physical bodies.

If the oak feels a barrier around its roots, she will dream her dreams, stretching and rooting more in new ways. She never stops. She finds her way, intertwining with other roots, calling and communicating, and learning from each other. And here is the beauty; we as human beings are so similar to Oak trees.

I am here to talk about our Baloot the Persian Oak. She was taken down many times, but her shooter, her children, came back again. They continue dreaming of freedom. No chainsaw stopped the Baloot Forrest from dreaming of sunlight and life. We dream of light reflecting on our bodies, dancing with the wind, and shimmering with the warmth we feel on each inch of our bodies. We danced and sang the songs of our mothers. We kept dancing and singing even when they shut our mouths, cut our limbs and dreams, covering our bodies under shawls and scarves in fear of our diamond-shimmered bodies. But we didn't stop. We keep rooting deeper down, down deeper, more profound than ever. We get connected and entangled with each other, still dreaming of the light reflecting on a pure stream falling down from creeks passing by our feet.

We are Baloot the Oak, shooting starts in the soul's darkest night, dancing the dance of our mothers, humming, loud or low, we never forget about love.

here we are for zan , zendegi, azadi.

Thank you for joining us. Indeed, our seeds carry gold nourishment for both physical and spiritual realms.
