"What to look for in therapy?" "How does this work with prayer and faith?", this is the episode for you!
Topics we discuss:
About Mike:
Mike Guess is a father and creative who spent many years working in the music industry as an artist, producer, and engineer. However, when the pandemic brought the world to a standstill, Mike's life took a new direction. He recognized the need to confront the traumas he had experienced throughout his life and started attending therapy sessions, which had a profound impact on him.
Inspired by his own transformation, Mike launched Be Good Brand in November 2021, with the goal of promoting the benefits of therapy and ending the stigma surrounding seeking help. The brand has made a profound impact, with a growing community of advocates in 49 states and three countries. Mike and his team continue to advocate for the power of therapy, the importance of mental health, and spreading hope and positivity.

I had other plans for this week but God came in and took over all of my plans.
On this Good Friday, I'm reflecting on what it would be like to stand in the disciples' shoes on that night....hope lost, expectations not met, dreams dead, grief felt. Wow, I've felt like that too many times. Today, my heart as we sit in the virtual living room is to encourage you to hold on.
I share a post I wrote 5 years ago about seasons and change...holding on to hope when we find ourselves in transition. I share from my heart in the hopes to encourage you if you feel hope lost, expectations not met, dreams dead and grief felt.
In the episode, I mentioned Virtual Coffee Chats...a 60 minute private 1:1 session for me. I've made them more accessible than ever before. Click here to book your Virtual Coffee Chat now!

Healthy relationships have healthy conflict. So why do we feel like we can’t wrestle with the Lord? Kathryn Means, host of the podcast Unlearning the Narrative of Singleness, shares about feeling like the older son in the parable of the Prodigal Son. “God, I’ve done it right. Why is marriage not a gift to me? Why have I never been chosen?” Many times we find ourselves pursuing the idol of marriage instead of the heart of God.
About Kathryn:
Kathryn never intended to be an expert in Christian singleness, but at 42 years old and never married, that’s just what happened. Passionate about bridging the gap between single and married Christ-Followers and exposing the idol the Church has made of marriage, she is the host of Unlearning the Narrative of Singleness, found wherever you listen to podcasts. Dog mom to Willa, daughter to two outrageously generous parents, aunt to three really cool nephews, and sister to biological and spiritual siblings alike, Kathryn is leaning into community now more than ever before, knowing there is safety in the risk of being known.

Sometimes we consciously or unconsciously wear labels. If we aren't aware of them, these labels will define us, filter us, and keep us from living in our unique design. Today, I invite you to recognize the labels in your life, dig deep into what caused those, replace them with Truth, invite God into the process, and shift your mindset.
In this episode, you will hear:
I'd LOVE to hear what stands out to you and what strikes a chord with you. Please reach out and lets chat more about this. Let me know what we should talk more about!

There is NO topic I have more requests to share about than Singleness...and I'm not mad about it at all. 😊 We have a lot to cover and it's much more than one episode but here's a summary of what we dive into :
Courtney's personal story of when she realized she was going to have a single season separate from the model she'd expected
We take some time to breakdown some narratives or mindsets that we often hear in singleness. Here are some truths we share:You can be content in singleness and also be sad at the same time.
And I answer the listener submitted question: What legacy do you want to leave in your season of singleness and how you do it?
I pray that this episode encourages you and invites you to reflect and journal on these thoughts. Have there been moments where some of these mindsets have creeped in? Is it time to speak some truth to them.
I'd LOVE to hear what stands out to you and what strikes a chord with you. Please reach out and lets chat more about this. Let me know what we should talke more about!

As we enter into this holiday season, there are a lot of emotions of joy and thankfulness but also moments of sadness and grief of loss or waiting. Grief is often looked at as this big thought or this big concept reserved for traumatic pain that often times we discredit ourselves from stepping into the healing process. We compare our grief to others. We don't know how to handle missed expectations, drifting relationships or being let down again. We stuff it and we carry it on our own. In this episode of Grace for the Growth, Courtney shares 3 things she's learned about grief. She dives into real authentic conversation about how to navigate when things don't turn out the way that we planned. How do we bring God in to it? Is it too much for God? Is it not big enough of a deal for him?
Also stick around through the end for an inspired Holy Spirit moment that may just be for you. 🤍
