Diggin’ In The Crates” is a weekly radio show on Calgary campus station CJSW (www.cjsw.com) hosted by Sideshow Sid. Every week, as the clock strikes Midnight on Thursday morn, Sid takes a deep dive into his crates. On any given show you might here the Doo-Wop of the Flamingos followed by an obscure 60’s B-side from Status Quo; the anger of “California Uber Alles” quelled by Aretha’s rendition of “Bridge Over Troubled Water;” the baffling freneticism of Drum & Bass made, less so, by the 4/4 pulse of House. This is a show dedicated to the past. As the late great Prince Nelson George once sung…”2000 Zero Zero party over oops out of time/So tonight I'm gonna party like it's 1999”…and so ‘Diggin’ In The Crates’ will be an eclectic dusty fingered flip through Sid’s record buying habits before…..”2000 Zero Zero.” It will of course be supplemented with tracks from compilations released post-2000; that focus on the best of music from the last century.
