In this episode of The 90210 Podcast: I break down "The Gentle Art of Listening" in which Brandon is in over his head with an older woman (a 23 year old! Ha!) and Brenda is volunteering her time for a good cause even if Andrea doesn't think she is equip to do so. Ugh Andrea! Donna has a crisis of her own - a very Beverly Hills crisis. The central plot line of this episode is very serious topic but I found some levity in the other story lines and it seems like every single character is in this episode. Enjoy!
In this bonus episode of The 90210 Podcast (an unaired segment from the last episode): Tillie and Pete deep dive into the hotly debated Dylan, Kelly, Brenda love triangle. This burning topic could be talked about endlessly and there is never a dull moment when Tillie (a Brenda and Dylan stan) and Pete (a Kelly and Dylan stan) start chatting about it. To some this episode is known as one of the least favorite episodes of 90210 ever -- just ask Pete Ferriero of The Beverly Hills 90210 Show! However, after a rewatch I found more parts that I liked about it and even can say I really enjoyed it! Cindy and Jim are celebrating their 17 year wedding anniversary and it's grim. No one is excited until Cindy runs into an old friend and does she get her groove back?! Meanwhile, Brenda and Brandon participate in a twin study and we see how David Silver lands his coveted school DJ job. Plus some lively back and forth between 90210 podcasters Tillie and Pete always makes for an excellent conversation!
We finally meet Kelly's mom: Jackie and she comes in like a wrecking ball! However, cool Jackie may seem to Brenda, she has some very serious bad habits that get exposed at the West Beverly Hills High mother-daughter fashion show. This episode is a wild emotional ride and one of the best episodes of the series! We see another side of Kelly and Andrea and Brenda is a supportive friend in the end. Cindy actually is the "Perfect Mom" and David is kind of stalker-ish but redeems himself by the end! Take a listen to this episode of "The 90210 Podcast" for some fun recapping and commentary!
This episode of Beverly Hill, 90210 entitled "Higher Education" is more like bad education! Brandon gets caught up in a cheating scheme with Steve and massively disappoints Andrea. Meanwhile, Brenda and Kelly asks Dylan what kind of hair color he prefers in girls and it gives Brenda an idea to get Dylan's attention. This was not a well thought out idea! This episode has me wondering about the Dylan, Kelly and Brenda love triangle and also seeing just how much Andrea and Brandon care about each other.
This episode of Beverly Hills, 90210 is entitled: "One on One," where Brandon puts his investigative journalist hat on and digs into the underbelly of the high school basketball ringer systems (or so he thinks). Filled with social and racial undertones this is a dramatic episode. On the lighter side, we see Brenda attempting driver's training again and Kelly apparently speak Italian? This was a big episode! Brandon loses his v-card to his ex who is "visiting" from Minnesota -- although as the episode progresses it's revealed that Cheryl has other reasons for being in Beverly Hills and if you ask me she is one big walking red flag! This episode is jammed packed with my take on the storylines - there are some great ones involving Brenda, Dylan and a hilarious Brandon and David encounter! I even share a personal story about the time I met Luke Perry in 2012. You won't want to miss this episode of The 90210 Podcast!
Cindy aptly coins Brenda's new and dubious friend "shifty eyes" and I haven't been the same since (LOL). This episode of The 90210 Podcast centers around the episode of Beverly Hills, 90210 entitled: "Every Dream Has Its Price (Tag)" where Brenda gets in some trouble with her parents and Brandon being the egalitarian that he is walks out on his job only to find the job that will last him all of his high school years and introduces us to The Peach Pit. The first official episode after the Pilot is called "The Green Room" and it revolves around Brandon and his ideal of Los Angeles surfing culture. This episode is super important to the foundation of the show as we meet Dylan Mckay (Luke Perry) and a bond forms between Brandon and Dylan. Plus we get a glimpse into the weekend beach scene in LA with the gang.
