Today we are diving into the controversial combination of Art and Business! We talk with our friend Fahad, who founded and runs his own music publishing company, about how he finds success in both his creative and business endeavors without compromising each. We also talk about Nirvana,, Beyonce, and Kendrick Lamar, the Japanese principle of ikagai, and the importance of having good taste (which we have, ofc).

Check out our YouTube Channel The Art Take for our post-episode discussion of this episode. We publish art related videos on that channel and will be moving our Art Rec discussion there as well. We love talking about art with each other and our friends and guests and want to create more opportunities to hear your Art Takes so stay tuned for more announcements on that.

In this discussion with our good friend Nick (@xvx_nick & @carbonpunx) we dive into Community in the art world. We talk about the group we all met at, Los Angeles Photo Alliance, and how our roles in the community shaped our experiences. We give our takes about how to start a "successful" community, what that even means, the shortcomings of a lot of existing communities, the challenges organizing and joining a community, and most importantly why you should join a community or start your very own! Thanks to Nick for taking the time to chat with us and offering his perspective on the very important topic of community. Thanks to all the folks who listened live and participated in the discussion afterwards! We're just starting out but we're already excited about the community forming around our little podcast! :)

In Episode 2 we talk about how we practice, how we learned to practice, if you ~really~ need to do it, how to not wanna die while doing it, our opposite photographic practices, and the ideal water to rice ratio for rice cookers. Chris also coins the term "Pleasure Practice" and we have a lot of trouble saying the word "previsualize". Have a good one! Email/DM us if you have any stories you wanna share or want to join the convo!
