I'm Krissy Monaghan, The Best Children's Activity Expert in the UK. With a superpower for unlocking your potential as a business owner, which maximises your income and lets you do what you love. My journey in the Children's Activity sector spans 12 years, during which I've worn many hats - from leading a London charity to becoming a successful franchisee, master franchisee, and franchisor, establishing a thriving UK-wide network. In just the past 20 months, I've assisted over a thousand Children's Activity providers in achieving their dreams of starting, growing, or scaling their businesses. My track record of turning challenges into opportunities and my unwavering commitment to your success make me the ideal partner to guide you on your journey.
This week on the Children's Activity Business Academy Podcast I talk about Why You Should be Investing in your email marketing. There is money in your list, you just need to nurture that list and let the tech do the work for you.
Right now we know its getting harder to reach your audience on social media and what's more you don't own it. You own your email list though and so many Children's Activity Providers neglect email marketing as a tool to drive their sales, which is why I teach it through my Market Like A Pop Star Programme.

In this weeks Podcast is all about irresistible offers and if you have any in your business right now. This is a perfect time to discuss this with Black Friday fast approaching, but instead of thinking of having a one day/ time offer, why don't you look at having a menu of offers in your business that you can use all the time. Particularly right now with current climate.
If you listened to my Podcast last week I talked about how you could use Trial Classes as a tool to bring customers into your world. Once you have got them through the doors on the trial classes to get them across the finish line you need to make them an irresistible offer. It needs to be so irresistible that the customer just can't say no.
I’ve been asked by a lot of providers if I would share my strategy, so I created a presentation and recorded a 15 minute training session for you. As a Gift from me to you, its available right now for just £5.99. This simple strategy, will give you the best chance of converting those trials into paid bookings. The link below, takes you straight to my shop.

In this weeks Podcast I talk about why Trial Classes are a gift for you and your business.
Right now in the industry some Children's Activity Providers are struggling to fill their classes due to current economic crisis the country is facing. I know times are hard, but people are still spending money they're just choosing where to spend it. Now is the time to show up and get more visible in your business, not hide away. Use this time between now and Christmas to bring people into your world. Trial classes, one off events or even a coffee morning could be something you could do right now to start taking action.

In this episode I talk about the Marketing your Business at a Local Level aka Street Marketing.
I share a story about a business owner who I taught how to market their business at a local level aka Street Marketing.
You see, when you’re a business owner at a local level, even if you are part of a franchise, you are flying solo when it comes to promoting your business. Your franchisor can advise you on how to market your services and products using their tried and tested methods, but you’re the one that must make it happen. If you’re an independent business owner, you don’t have the luxury of getting that advice, you must figure it out on your own.
As the ambassador of your brand at a local level, you must champion it. It’s your responsibility to market your business and you have limited time, energy, and money within the business to waste, so it’s so important to put your energy into the right areas.
I call marketing at a local level, street marketing because it involves putting yourself out there so you can be seen and heard this is even more important right now as we live in a world of technology and social media where we are all fighting to be visible.
If you struggle with how to market your business at a local level then this podcast could help you to get started.

In this episode I talk about the importance of knowing the numbers in your business.
When I say numbers I mean your finances, not how many children you have in a class.
I mean what does it cost you to run the business, to host those classes. There are so many costs to keep track of from insurance, venue hire, travel, fuel, marketing, payment gateway fees, subscriptions through to your management fees if you’re part of a franchise.
You need to be tracking your income and expenditure daily. It’s a simple equation. If you don’t have enough money coming into the business each month to cover your costs, then you’re not viable. If this is happening every month, then you need to act, because something isn’t working.
I share the story of how I helped a business get themselves out of a financial pickle into profit.
If you're a business owner who is struggling right now with your finances you may find this podcast useful.

In this episode I talk about to Pay as You Go or Not to pay as you - That is the question?
Let me tell you a story about an independent business who operated on a Pay as You Go (PAYG) Business model when I first started working with them through my Kick Starter Mentoring package and how I supported this business to move to a block booking model.
If you’re a business owner who can relate to this or you’re stuck in the world of PAYG right now and don’t know how to get out of it, then now is the time to make changes in your business.

Why Awards are Great for Business All you have to do is put your hat in the arena. Even if you don’t win, your business will.
In this weeks episode I talk about Business Awards and why they are great for your business, but I didn't always think that. It was only when I developed a real passion for marketing to a certain extent it became my second career that I realised the real benefits of entering awards. You see, it’s not about the winning, it actually is about the taking part, as clichéd as it sounds. Just by entering an award your business is winning, in so many ways.
My advice is to throw your hat in the arena and get in there. You have nothing to lose. Head over to my website to see what I achieved in the last few years.

In this episode, I talk about failure or the First Attempt in Learning. If you have been following my journey you will know that I'm running my first ever Marathon later this year. Last Sunday I ran my first half marathon of the year on the streets of Inverness.
I talk about my experience, the two mistakes I made in my preparation and the reasons why I failed to hit my target time. The pain I’ve felt in my legs this week is a stark reminder not to make the same mistakes again and that I need to adapt my marathon business plan if I’m to reach my own ultimate running goal.
This week I want you to think about the mistakes that you have made in your business and consider the following for each one:
If you answer “Nothing” or “I didn’t” to any of the above, go back and with the benefit of what you know now, re-ask yourself the question in-the-now i.e. What can you learn? What action can you take? How can you adapt?
If you answer “I don’t have one” to question 3, then maybe it’s time you had.

In this episode, I talk about my preparations and training plan for running a Marathon this year and why it made me think of you and your business.
I’m working with a number of clients, some of whom I’m currently taking through the business planning process. These are clients whom have been in the sector for a few years but didn’t write a plan when they first started and are now having to go back and address areas that should have been put in place when they started. I was curious to see how often this occurred within the industry, so last week I posed the question: “Did you write a business plan before you started your business?” via a poll in my Facebook Group and on LinkedIn. The results came in and they were 60% said they did not write a business plan.
I talk about how I used business planning in my business in our franchise recruitment process and the benefits of business planning as a tool to help you to start, grow and scale your business.
I mention three individuals who have supported me over the last decade. Jess Brookes at Jab Marketing, Chris Hammond from Ha-Creative and Holly Nixon from Ta-Dah Strategic Check out their Facebook page if you would like to find out more and their businesses.
If you’re just starting out, or you’ve been in business for a while but didn’t write a business plan when you started, why don’t you book your Business Audit Call with me today or a FREE no obligations Discovery Call.
Don’t waste time thinking about it, start planning for success right now. You have got nothing to lose.
