This episode is very much in process and demonstrates how we cannot plan, control or anticipate how everything will happen in our life. Things come up, take longer than we think or just smack you upside the head. I share what’s going on through me as I work through this under the lens of “coming back to myself” particularly how certain feelings manifest in my body in the form of anxiety.
I walk you through how to identify the sensations in your body and how we label it as a certain feeling. Getting back to embodiment rather than staying stuck in our head.
Life is unpredictable, how do we respond to this uncertainty and unpredictability while remaining true to ourselves?

Welcome back to The Breathing Space [TBS]
In this episode I share about my ever evolving relationship with social media. I’ve been reflecting on this relationship for quite some time and finally feel ready to share more about it - including the differences I’ve felt when on socials vs. completely off of it and where I’ve landed with it now. I’m going over my biggest breakthroughs, concerns, current usage, if I feel I’m missing anything when I’m offline, and some very unexpected observations as well as what has helped me land in a place where I feel content in my relationship with social media. Perhaps these themes are also coming up for you too.
If you’ve struggled with feeling addicted to social media or questioned whether you should just get off it altogether - then this episode is for you.

Welcome back to The Breathing Space.
In this podcast episode I’m sharing how powerful the theme of meeting yourself where you are can be in slowly transforming my relationship to myself as well as my life. There’s multiple practical examples of how it has helped me build trust with myself, gain confidence and build momentum without being overly critical or pushing and forcing myself into action.
Because underneath our judgements and critical thoughts, our body is trying to communicate with us.

How can we use consumerism and the impulse to accumulate more, to understand ourselves more deeply and find more meaning in our life?
In this episode Liz discusses how more material things don’t necessarily lead to more happiness. She discusses how using the myth of more can help you bring more meaning, fulfillment and joy into your life.

We’re back! After a hiatus following the 30 Days of Breath - which were awesome and you can check it out here - I’m back on the pod.
In today’s episode I talk about accessing the energy of the different elements (earth, air, fire, water) to deepen your understanding of yourself and reconnect with what’s showing up for you. I focus particularly on the fire energy and using it for growth and discipline. Some of the things I discuss are:
What are the energies?
How do they show up?
How can you welcome in a deeper connection to yourself using them?
How you can take action without overwhelm (hint: think of where you currently are +1) so you can achieve the transformation/growth/change you desire.

All the things we truly want in life are free - because they’re feelings and not actual things. How we go about meeting our needs so that we FEEL how we want to feel, well that might cost us - either in time, money, energy or other resources.
In this episode I talk about the benefits of showing up for yourself and of having structure. I also discuss how finding whatever it is that you are searching for, is a result of staying connected to yourself - and the best tool to do that, is breathwork!

Often we think losing weight will give us something, will help us feel happy, proud, beautiful etc. In this episode I talk about my experience gaining around 40lbs in less than 2 years and how I managed to continue to love and accept myself and my body.
This isn’t about health. It’s about treating your body in a loving and nurturing way where you listen to its feedback and needs, especially when it comes to our feelings. Because if you’re trying to lose weight, or have lost and gained the same weight over and over again, or are stuck in a binge-restrict cycle, this episode will tell you what’s really going on and how to break free.

Sometimes life can feel a little tiresome, with a lot of pushing, forcing and grinding. And sometimes things feel a little sticky or you feel stuck. And sometimes healing can be so heavy, deep and overwhelming.
Not in this episode, today I talk about how I’ve found more energy and connection in my day to day life. As well as how you can bring more joy, pleasure and fun back into your life.

On today’s episode I get honest about what I’ve been doing to hold space for myself as I go through an uncertain period in my life. I talk about finding meaning in the mundane everyday moments of life as a way to be present and connected to myself and to create safety in being me, rather than finding it outside myself.
Plus it’s a simple practice that you can use daily too, to bring so much more peace even when your emotions are all over the place.

Why do we continue behaviours even when they are destructive or harmful to us like smoking or binge/emotional eating?
What’s driving our behaviour, and what is underneath it?
In this episode I discuss my own recent experience of feeling and integrating an emotion even though it was surprising & uncomfortable to do so - and yet this is part of the human experience.
I also discuss high vs low vibe feelings (aka “good” and “bad” feelings) and how suppressing them is actually robbing you of your freedom, joy and the experience of being human. And how feeling your feelings can lead to more self trust & safety.
You won’t want to miss it.

Contrary to what many success and mindset coaches will tell you, I don’t think making a decision quickly is always the best thing for you (in the long term).
Instead, what if we learnt how to sit with and feel into what is true for us. To let the body lead and connect. This is healing. To change our relationship to these big emotions. Where we stay connected to our heart and our body and our truth even when the mind is screaming at us otherwise.
I share on how the reality I THOUGHT I wanted is actually different from what may actually bring me fulfillment and how I’ve been managing sitting with this even when it’s scary as all your constructs fall away. (Well, even when it’s terrifying! as it has been while I’ve questioned how what I’ve believed for so much of my life, no longer feels true).
Perhaps this will add some perspective to yourself and your process of figuring out what your next season will look like.

Self care is all over social media - then why aren’t more of us doing it? In fact, why aren’t more of us seeing the benefits of these practices?
In today’s episode I explain how to use self devotion & choice to bring more commitment, trust and confidence into your life. How showing up for yourself CHANGES EVERYTHING. No more self abandoning, instead raise our standards while keeping our boundaries intact and honouring our bodies.

It was a question from her therapist that sent her down a long journey of skill development in self compassion, mindfulness, mindful meditation, neural development and brain change…
So what was the question?
Have you ever tried meditation?
Join me and my guest Kay Burnham as we discuss how to be more mindful using meditation and how it has changed her life.
We also discuss what actual self care and how it can address your needs and be a practice of deeper self connection. We also discuss some of the struggles people have in beginning a practice that supports them rather than becoming overwhelming. And so that self care isn’t actually AFTER care.

How we can create, without having all the information?
Last time Eliah was on the podcast we talked about healing your body and being able to step into the unknown once you’ve done that. In this episode we continue the conversation into what’s possible once your nervous system’s healed a bit (it doesn’t have to be “fully healed”). Once you have enough peace, have moved through the biggest part of your healing - what do you do with that confidence, and with the tolerance for trusting your intuition and following your inner voice and taking the leaps that seem to defy reason. And seeing the rewards you couldn’t possibly imagine.

Nothing in life is permanent. Everything exists in relationship. Whether that is the relationship we have with ourselves, food, or our body, we can shift our perspective towards it. This episode is both personal and universal. It’s my story of finding a place of acceptance and connection with my body, regardless of how it looks on the outside, and how you can do it too.
In this episode I talk about
the importance of intentionality
3 stages of moving towards changing the relationship with your body
cultivating intentional practices that support change
How breathwork changed my life and supported me in making lasting changes in my relationship with myself, food and my body
the importance of discipline rather than obsession

There comes a time when you know you need to change. After years of restriction and then letting everything go and neglecting herself, her body and her self care, Anne knew she had to change.
This week on the podcast I talk to Anne Caissie, a woman on a mission to eradicate diet culture & help every woman love the body they have today!
We talk about:
empowering yourself to make a change out of love and kindness
how to cultivate the lost connection with our own bodies to avoid the illusion of quick fixes
finding the balance of setting yourself up for success through small changes over time
How to prioritize yourself & your self care while being consistent
We can cultivate a deep sense of connection with ourselves using our body & the feedback that it is giving us.

What to do when life feels like it’s falling apart - when your business isn’t where you want it to be or you’re in a job you hate? Or when your relationship doesn’t feel right or you’re stuck being single? Or when so many more distractions pop up in life; unexpected bills, an illness or even just your mental health.
This is where the duality of life comes in. To focus not on where you are now but where you want to go while simultaneously holding space for all the uncomfortable feelings that come up and healing the little parts of us crying out for attention.
In this episode I talk about how we can manage seemingly conflicting feelings, wants, needs and desires so that we’re able to move forward in our life and goals, to keep growing and expanding, even when faced with parts of us that are scared, stuck in lack, or scarcity.
You can accomplish all that you want in life, without needing to wait to be fully healed, which can often lead to stagnation. And you can move forward without denying your feelings and pushing through which inevitably leads to burnout.
You get to honour all parts of yourself!

We live in an increasingly disconnected world, where so much is designed to distract, entertain and sell to us.
We’re increasingly disconnected to ourselves.
So how do we cultivate certain qualities to help us live a more fulfilled and aligned life. Here’s a hint, you already have this capability, you just need to cultivate a deeper practice of it.

What if this year wasn’t about accomplishing any goals but instead getting more in touch with who you are, what you want and what makes you feel good? Without it being on someone else’s timeline (who decided once midnight strikes and we go from December 31 to January 1 that everything needs to change?? - my body is NOT ready for that!)
In this episode we talk about some ways of connecting more deeply with yourself and observing what’s going on with you and your body. Of honouring your timeline without getting swept up in the energy of the “New Year, New Me” let’s change everything.
Instead how can we create space for ourselves, observe what’s going on and actually feel, express and release what we’re carrying. Feelings are feedback - so what are you feeling and how can you use it to move forward with intention?

Hello, hello, in this week’s episode Liz talks about how artificial our lives are and how it is disconnecting us from who we really are.
She also talks about how this is a societal and structural issue that prevents us from diving deeper into who we are. Each “layer” preventing us from seeing our true self is actually from the environment around us. But we get to choose to go deeper and investigate our own thoughts and feelings to get to our truth.

In this episode I further discuss how perfectionism is really a disconnection from ourselves and a way of invalidating our Self and our feelings. How we can notice the cycle of control and fear in our lives and how it shows up in work, life, holidays and more.
Our actions are not nearly as important as our intention behind them, listen to hear more about releasing judgement and living with more intentionality - in a way that honours where you currently are.
I also go deeper into some ways of identifying, acknowledging and honouring where we are right now. Whether that is a season of winter and contraction or otherwise.
This episode is going deeper into my written newsletter post about being good enough which you can read here. And an integration will be coming out for paid subscribers where you can sit with and feel into where you are right now.

Do you go to a job you dread, living for the weekend, so you can pay the bills?
Do you feel satisfied with what you’re doing, but deep down inside there’s a restlessness, a dis-ease?
What if there was another way? A way of living a purpose driven and positive life?
Purpose in a purposely positive life has two meanings: living life on purpose and living life for a purpose.
On purpose means you’re in control of your life, and you can live a life you love and living like everyday is Friday.
Living life on purpose, is to find purpose in your life again. Just like when you were a little girl. Finding your why.
Join me and former investigator turned speaker, trainer, and toach, Tony Wechsler (who also the hosts his own podcast: Strive to Thrive, the Purposely Positive Podcast) as we discuss finding and living your purpose and what it actually means to be positive.
You can also find Tony on his website and Facebook group.
If you’re interested in deepening a connection with yourself, and expanding into your own purpose, an invitation to the Breathing Space Breathwork Community, with calls every week.
Lots of love, Liz

We jam on our experiences overcoming those feelings and the amazing benefits and all the beautiful things that come from facing those feelings head on.
This week join me and my friend & fellow breathwork facilitator, Eliah Prichard @kaleidos.cope as we have an informal discussion about our experience with breathwork and the uncomfortable growing pains of trying new things.
Looking to try out breathwork for yourself?

It was like I put on carnival glasses. It was psychedelic. It was like trees were popping out at me. It was like a Tim Burton movie. The texture of tree bark was moving off the tree. It was the most amazing experience of abundance and gratitude.
Breathwork can be a powerful experience. When we’re engaging in practices like yoga, therapy, mindfulness and others, we’re searching for a shift in how we feel. Breathwork helps to find it - by bringing in embodiment.
Bringing in safety as we question our beliefs, and making changes, and exploring our relationship with ourselves.
Join me and fellow breathwork facilitator Jenny Cheifetz as we discuss practices that help you connect more deeply with yourself and your body. We share how we went from not knowing what the heck breathwork is, to becoming facilitators, and how powerful the experience can be.
You can find Jenny on instagram @jentlecoaching or her website.
Interested in going deeper with breathwork? The Breathing Space offers a place for you. You can check out the details here. We are offering FREE GROUP BREATHWORK until October 24th. You're welcome to join us.
Ever find yourself wanting to "burn it all down" and start anew? To run away, to escape?
It's often the same feeling that leads us to struggle with food, alcohol, screen time, gambling and other coping behaviours - trying to escape reality.

Breathwork is so woo-woo - you claim it can help with altered states of consciousness, improved digestion, better sleep, anxiety relief, stress management, increased lung capacity, nervous system regulation, feel calm, centred and at peace?!?!
Breathwork can do all that?!?!?
Yes! And so much more.
Join me and my guest neuroscientist, somatic coach, trauma-informed breathwork facilitator and science of breathwork educator Andrea Freemeyer as we go in depth into the science of breathwork and explain HOW does breathwork work WITH the nervous system to help with the benefits described above.

Manifestation, I was a skeptic too. I saw so many people making claims without backing it up. Until I realized what you actually need in order for manifestation to work. Without them, you won't be able to attract what you desire.
So check out the episode for more depth on them.
And check out the workshop on Manifesting what You Desire this May 29th at 3pm EDT. You can register here and invite a friend! We'll breathe into what you want, and you'll leave with a vision board in hand to help the manifestation practice actually occur (and what I teach will be in line with the 3 things you have to have).

Do you find yourself filling space? Whether it's when there's a pause in a conversation, or when you have down time - you have to fill it with something?
Or perhaps feeling guilt about taking a moment to rest and NOT do anything?
What can we learn when we observe this in ourselves? What is going on behind the scenes? Using this discomfort as a way of learning more about ourselves. Because there's more going on than we might initially think.
That's what I discuss in today's episode, as well as a few celebrations too.

Curious about breathwork?
In this short episode I go through a quick 5 minute breathwork practice so you can experience it for yourself.
We use the three part tri-active breath (belly, chest, exhale) to drop into the present moment using the mantra - I am awake, I am alive.
And join me every weekday of May for "Breathwork Quickies". These are 20-25 minute calls at noon EST, to re-centre and reconnect with yourself in a moment of presence. Try out breathwork and see for yourself how powerful it can be. These are donation based and you can register here. I thank you in advance for supporting my mission to help others connect with themselves through the power of breathwork.
Love,
Liz

This was a download my friends. Coming at you in my towel after jumping out of the shower, I jam on self discovery and the pursuit of YOUR truth.
Can you even know the Truth if you don't know yourself? I'd argue that unless you discover yourself, your biases and your beliefs then there will always be a lens through which you view the world blocking you from a deeper sense of know, understand and the ability to see the Truth.
Oh boy is this one good!

In the day and age of tinder and other dating websites where it is so easy to find someone new, what inspires us to stay committed to a relationship?
How can we have healthier and more meaningful relationships? And how can we get to know ourselves more deeply?
In today's episode I'll be answering these questions with my guest Amy, as we discuss enneagram and how it can be a powerful tool for not only learning about ourselves but also in understanding our family, our partners and how we work.
After decades as a highly successful branding and marketing strategist, Amy Venn Shepard realized that she was solving the wrong problems in the right way. While Amy was helping organizations gain clarity and maximize profits, too many marriages and families were stagnating and becoming toxic, breaking apart or dying from boredom. Amy has pivoted her career, obtained multiple coaching and enneagram certifications, and now helps individuals and families build trust, transform and thrive!

Do you find yourself doing things you'd rather not do? Maybe you even identify as a people pleaser and struggle to express your feelings and needs?
Have you ever wondered what boundaries are?
Maybe you're not even sure what needs and boundaries are and how they can impact your life.
Many of us say what we want and then find ourselves going back on it, feeling increasingly frustrated and resentful each time it happens.
This episode is just for you. Dr. Jocelyn Harte is an expert in boundaries, needs and communicating them effectively to others. We'll go into what boundaries and needs are, how to identify them and then communicate it. And the exact process that she's taught me and I have been using in my life.

Have you wondered how to show love to yourself?
What is self care REALLY, and does it make a difference?
On today's episode I discuss the importance of self love and acting AS IF you love yourself so you can align to the frequency of being someone who actually DOES love yourself. We also discuss the importance of self love/self care practices that allow you to feel and be with yourself.
And I share a few techniques to MAKE time for yourself (rather than FIND it - and what the difference is!) and opportunities for your own growth, should you choose to try them.

What if we used food to go deeper in our relationship with ourself?
What if our self worth didn't depend on food or our body?
What if you healed the relationship with food and your body, what could life be like?
Are you busy or keeping yourself busy?
What would a person do if you truly loved yourself?
The answer to these and other questions listen to this week's episode of The Growing Embodiment podcast!
In this episode of the podcast, I talk to vegan intuitive eating coach Koen Vaessen about food, our bodies and the relationship between them. Along with how we can bring more stillness into our day and live a life we truly love while working through our limiting beliefs and cultivating more empowering ones!

Have you ever wondered where or how to find love as a vegan?
What are the first steps to finding someone?
What about - where are all the good vegans? (Especially all the good vegan men!) Or should I date non-vegans?
What's the secret to a lasting relationship?
On today's episode I talk to self-love coach and former vegan matchmaker Karine Lang.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
A little about Karine:
For over 10 years, Karine aka Vegan Cupid, (founder of Find Veg Love), worked with vegan singles across North America helping them find their vegan match through her matchmaking services.
